Ah, Moppet was the proud mother of a wide variety of creatures. She had given birth to a number of litters, had raised to incredibly chatty birds and in her 'spare time' had raised a Soquili. All her children had turned out to have very unique personalities but the bond she shared with each was unmistakably strong. It would have taken more than a word and even a horrifying deed to shatter that link. She may not have been related to a few by blood but that wasn't necessarily a problem - she was well aware that Azumoth would rip anyone to shreds if she were touched. Oh! To say it made the raccoon bubble up with affection inside her fluffy form was an understatement. So what if her family was unconventional? She loved them all the same.

Nevertheless as the mare continued to speak of her new found 'foal', Moppet mulled over the description. There was no doubt in her mind that the mare's discovery had changed her a little. She still had her optimism, she still had that spark in her eyes but there was a more maternal aura about her. Having raised a tiny foal she had begun to understand the delicate nature of such a bond...and the critical part it played in the development of a child's life. Moppet had no doubt in her mind though that this 'first time mother' had performed her duties admirably even if Moppet hadn't seen them first hand.

Hell, the mare had systematically shattered Azumoth's barriers, raising a foal was easy after that!

"Aye, kiddywinks always be growin' up mighty fast, blink and ye'll miss them!" Moppet spread out her paws wide and then giggled. Offering a tiny shrug she flopped back onto her backside and brought her tail round so she could stroke at it's tip. Her expression became thoughtful after this and she fixed her brown eyes on the mare. She was definitely a mother now and to say her optimism would ensure the foals grew up well was an understatement...was it wrong of Moppet to feel proud?

"But they gotta run off sometimes, aye?" She smiled faintly as she recalled her own litters, Azumoth and even the twin birds who had been absent as of late. All her children had left her in search of answers or adventure. Not that she minded but a famiyl reunion now and then would have been terribly nice to have. "There's only so much a mother can teach her babies, then they have to learn for themselves... Some are jes' too bull headed to take yer word fer it about somethings!" She was of course referring to warnings regarding danger. Children rarely took heed of those warnings, even from battle scarred warriors such as Cyn. Alas, it simply meant that all parents had to be there when they ran home and coward underneath a bush.

"Now if ye think Azumoth is stubborn try raisin' kids more often," Moppet teased before releasing a sigh and leaning back. She released her tail soon after and promptly furrowed a brow as Bella informed her that she shouldn't even be present. "Why ye so rushed then sweetheart, did somethin' 'appen to ye?"

Ah but of course, Moppet wouldn't know Azumoth was back just yet!

Bella smiled warmly as she listened to Moppet's advice about children. Though the young mare had done her best with Raphe, and though he was fast growing in to a stallion where he once was a foal, Bella couldn't help but adore him. She treasured and cherished every minute with the little unicorn and yearned for his presence something fierce. Though the ocean side was lovely, she did miss the sight of her pale haired son just as fierce as she missed the ebony coat of Azumoth.

It was a shame that the two most important males in her life were absent. . .

Quite a shame.

Her golden gaze dimmed slightly as Moppet talked about how swiftly a child grew. Blink else you miss out on so many moments and memories. Though Raphe had been tiny and defenseless as a foal, though she remembered his first steps that weren't nearly as wobbly as many (heavant forbid he ever look graceless!) it was true that such tender moments had flown by. And to think that now he was alone and she was hidden within the coves and once again not there to see him and care for him. She couldn't provide him comfort whence he needed, she couldn't provide him love and affection and tenderness and reassurance. . . .

What on earth was Raphe up to nowadays anyway?

And what of Azumoth for that matter?

She remembered fondly their time at the cove, and though such thoughts often made her nose stain a bright pink, she cherished it. He had swept her away from her plains and had lead her to safety; she had cried, he had grown impatience and he had admitted his love. Furthermore, he had shared seaweed with her and from there many a more tender moment. Ooooh, part of her still felt flushed and coy by such a thought, but it was her little secret afterall.

It wasn't as if Moppet had to know all the details.

Speaking of which, Bella's ears pricked as the little raccoon questioned her concern. It took the mare a moment to realize (albeit belatedly) that Moppet couldn't and wouldn't have known of Azu's temporary return! He had left on some journey and had taken her to the shore. . .but he had also left in quite the hurry! Obviously he hadn't had time to make it back to his grove and see his old mentor and Moppet. "Oh, heaven's I plum forgot you didn't know~!" Her nose did grow pink from her thoughtlessness and she dipped her head, ears pinning momentarily.

"I . . I was forced to move from the plains. Azumoth showed up most unexpected and whisked me away to some cove near the sea. He was . . he was concerned that I might be in danger," she explained, averting her gaze as she felt her nose continue to darken. Why did her stomach flutter when she spoke of him and why couldn't she look Moppet in the eye? So her son had come and whisked her to safety, why did she suddenly feel ever so coy?

"I'm sorry, I should've said something sooner! But it got horribly lonely out there as he left just about as soon as we arrived... To finish what he began or something of that sort. I really shouldn't have left," she added, glancing over her shoulder as if some great shadow might very well rear its ugly head, "But I missed you so. Seagulls and crabs can only make so much interesting conversation."

Somewhere a part of Bella felt as if she were incredibly exposed. As if Moppet could stare at her and from such information knew exactly what happened out there within that seaside abode. As if she knew that her son had crossed lines Bella could only have hoped for and imagined, that her son had admitted his love. The young mare wanted to gush about it, wanted to tell Moppet everything and yet she couldn't! Part of her felt as if Azumoth should express such things to his mother, that she might steal something from him should she give Moppet the news first, and furthermore she feared that perhaps the little raccoon might feel slighted.

Who was Bella, afterall, to recieve a visit from the stallion when compared to his lovely mother Moppet? "I hope you're not mad," she murmured, pawing at the ground a bit nervously, her nose still bright pink. "I had hoped he might've made time to see you but there was a great rush to be had." And Bella had distracted the stallion longer than either had intended.

Moppet was no spring chicken, she knew what certain looks meant and what certain body language inferred. However in the years that she had matured the tiny raccoon had learned that tact was much more desirable. She adored her gossip, took opportunities to squea and celebrate. On occasions she even gloated to individuals she had proved wrong, but now wasn't one of those times. There was a good reason for her choice to 'behave' as well - after all, she had known for a long time about her son.

Moppet had almost been certain from the very moment she had met the terrified mare that she was that one for him. While he had been gruff and had barely tolerated her presence, the raccoon had noted the unusual level of protection he had provided. His daughters had been the only others to enter his grove and receive his complete protection - those who sought shelter in his lands were granted other places to hide. So to bring this mare had been a huge step. Whether he had cared to admit it or not, he had subconciously chosen the mare and had protected her from that point on. Granted his mother was less than impressed with some of his techniques but Bella had done something she never could.

...She'd opened his eyes.

As a mother of many children Moppet had already come to the conclusion that there were just some things that a parent couldn't do. She could cuddle and nag, but a lover could do so much more. When Bella had entered the life of her antisocial son she had been the light at the end of the tunnel. All that nagging that Moppet had done had been ignored, it had been the voice of this mare that had made him listen. As her boy began to change she recognised the signs and bowed out, permitting his chosen love to help him. It was something every parent had adjust to and it didn't really get easier each time it happened. Eventually children replaced their parents for much of their needs and started families of their own. The parents would always be there, should the children ever need them they would come...but in the long term, they could only watch from afar.

It broke her heart and yet mended it all at the same time.

She was happy.

Thus the news that he had come to Bella over his mother was a little disconcerting (he could have at least said hello) but it did confirm her suspicions. Regardless of the lack of time her baby had, he had made sure what he wanted most was safe. Moppet would refrain from enquiring as to much else that had occured, but she would forgive him for behaving in such a 'horrid' manner. Admittedly she had no idea exactly what he was facing, but as Cyn shifted it appeared the stallion did.

Nevertheless as she began to blush and avoided Moppet's gaze the little raccoon did develop a twinkle. She had a sneaking suspicion that Bella was hiding something from her, was struggling to contain it and as a gossip merchant the critter couldn't permit this information to remain unknown. Thus, she leant forward and twitch her ears inquisitively, stretching out a hand to stroke at the mare's nose.

"Yer forgivin' fer borrowin' my son," she reassured her with a small chuckle. "But yer lookin' awfulleh strange..." she paused and deliberately made it seem as though she was misinterpretting her look. After all, Azumoth had a rather bad habit of saying the wrong thing and appearing somewhat abrasive. "Did 'e say somethin' mean again sweet heart?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 31, 2008 6:33 pm

Bella looked down upon the little raccoon, unable to fully forgive herself for borrowing so much of Azumoth's time. Here Moppet had invested so much time and patience in to her son and Bella had managed to somehow ensnare a piece of his heart. No, she hadn't known the stallion for as long; no, she hadn't invested as much time. . . And who had he come out to find and ensure safety? Who had distracted him with seaweed and affection and not only delay his journey but had kept him from Moppet?

She had.

Thankfully though, Moppet was incredibly reassuring. With the soft stroke of her paw against her nose, gold eyes studied the little mother and she couldn't help but smile. Her curled tail swished back and forth as Moppet assured her that she had no objection or complaint to her borrowing her son . . . but her smile fell as the raccoon assumed the worst. Cream ears pricked and her amber eyes suddenly went wide with concern. "Oh, oh no, not at all!" She gasped, now turning the tables and wanting no more than to assure Moppet that her son had not done something disagreeable.

Lifting her head, the mare gave another little shake and pawed at the ground. "He didn't say anything mean, in fact. . . In fact he . . . he. . . well. . . " Uh-oh. Now the mare found herself in trouble. Her nose stained brighter and her gaze fell once again off the raccoon and on to the ground as she struggled to find the right words. "He was the sweetest to me that he's ever been," she whispered, a coy smile crossing her features in memory.

Well snap. Allowing her thick curls to fall over her gaze, she glanced up to where Cyn stood before looking back to Moppet. Maybe she could admit a little bit of their seaside escapades. . . . just the important bit. "He. . . I . . . we. . . . Moppet he doesn't hate me like I thought he had! In fact, he doesn't even merely tolerate me anymore. He. . . he said he loved me!" She couldn't contain it, and her smile was absolutely radiant as she reiterated the words to his mother.

Oh, the giddyness that welled up inside her just couldn't be held within any longer. There was relief speaking such words, even if it were to Moppet. Moppet was as much her friend as a surrogate mother figure within her life and Bella had to tell someone.

"Oh, well honey I could've told ye tha'..." Moppet giggled as the mare transformed into a giddy adolescent again. The little raccoon had been suspicious, had known that something had happened. After all, her son wasn't one to beat around the bush or tolerate certain things for very long. Ah yes, the raccoon had known for years that her son had been watching the cream mare. Positively obssessed with her, she doubted her son had ever really been able to get her out of his head. To say he had been hooked was an understatement - he was absolutely enthralled by the little mare who had worked so hard to be his friend.

That being said, Moppet could scarcely contain herself as she released her own little squeal. Clapping her paws together she quickly lost her balance and tumbled unceremoniously into the pool behind her. It was with a small chuckle that Cyn leant down and retrieved the mother, lifting her by the scruff of the neck and depositing her on the edge once more. Despite being completely soaked though, a drown rat at best...she didn't look any less happy at the fact that her son had finally spat out those damn words. By the gods he had waited a damn long time to do it!

Oooh, she was so happy.

"Don't ye even have anythin' te say ye big fluffball?" She demanded, placing her paws on her hips as she turned her attentions to the stallion. For the most part Cyn barely appeared to have reacted to the news. He had chuckled at the raccoons clumsiness but his lack of a smart retort made her suspicious. When he was in the presence of his family, Cyn Generis couldn't help but be just a tiny bit sarcastic. He excelled at dry humour, so why was it now he chose to avoid it?

"I was assuming you would do the yelling, shouting and celebrating for me," he replied smoothly, adjusting his weight as he turned his head towards the pair of females again. There was definitely a smile on his lips, one of fondness and while his eyes remained hidden it was clear he was content. "However I will echo your thoughts and declare that it is 'about bloody time' he told the truth, no?"

"Here, here!" Moppet squeezed the water from her tail and once again took a seat on the edge of the pool. Her blue eyes shifted up to the mare and she clasped her paws together. Ah, so the little one really was a part of her family now...it seemed that in the last few years the size of her tiny pack had exploded. Birds, foals, bears...you name it, they had come and ultimately been adopted by the ever maternal creature.

"Although..." Cyn paused briefly and then slowly, the monstrously tall Soquili closed the gap between himself and the two females. Now only a few inches away from the mare, his head seemed to be fixed on her alone. "In addition to your love for my son, I suspect I should extend my congratulations for something else as well, no?"

"Wait...what?" Moppet's ears perked as she shifted her gaze abruptly towards the stallion. Alas, the expression on his lips hadn't changed in the slightest and she could only begin to guess at what he meant.

Ah yes, the seer knew already...

Bella couldn't help but beam as she looked from the now water-logged raccoon and large, winged stallion. While Moppet's reaction had been incredibly Moppet-esque, it also inordinately pleased her that Cyn seemed content with the news. He was too big to be hyperactive, she reasoned, and too stately as well! Though she couldn't see his gaze, it was his smile that pleased her and the cream mare couldn't help but be glad. She would've hated to have Azumoth's family be disappointed in his choice of mate.

It wasn't as if she were exactly some sort of special mare. Her looks were fairly plain and simple compared to some and she had no family background or rank. She was, in all honesty, a simple girl but perhaps that was what suited the complicated stallion best. He had enough drama on his plate to have to also deal with hers so it was with great fortune that the two had met. What a fateful day it had been. . . Who could have guessed that her fear of the woods and an ability to get completely turned around would have change her life so completely. In fact, the curled maned mare couldn't even imagine what sort of life she would lead without Azumoth witin it.

He had been an important figure from the first moment she had laid eyes upon him. Even though he had come off as a bit terrifying, and later still tempermental and cranky, she had known that she had met someone extraordinary. In fact, by the time he had lead her out of the woods the golden eyed mare had come to the conclusion that he had been more lost than she and could use a little direction in his life. Of course it hadn't been easy but obviously something had worked out. He was difficult but so was she. . . And after all the time she spent, after all the hours of frustration she had given him, somehow their hearts had met.

Oh, Bella would never forget his admittance on the beach. Certainly he'd been exasperated but who needed romance when frustration lead the way? She doubted he had meant to tell her it, but Azu had slipped up and she could finally speak freely of her affections for him. Oh, she hoped he knew just how much she adored him, just how deep her love ran. Thankfully she had the rest of her life to prove it to him and make him certain of the truth.

While her reverie added to her great smile, her cream ears did p***k as Cyn strided forward. Now, what was this he said? In addition? Golden eyes narrowed slightly as her brow furrowed in thought, confusion pausing her great joy as she attempted to make sense of his riddle. What. . . What on earth was he talking about? Her own head canted to the side though her smile never wavered, even as the cogs of her mind churned and churned. "I'm sorry," she chuckled, giving her head a little shake, ". . . did I . . . did I miss something?" She tore her gaze off the sightless stallion to peer at Moppet, as if she might have clued in on this news.

Oh silly Bella. . . She hadn't put her weight gain and her fond farewell with Azumoth together. As far as Bella knew she had nothing more to do than cut back on her seaside snacks and all would be well with time. Her naivetee was acute and the idea of being a mother so soon wasn't going to occur to her until her belly was absolutely bulging or someone reminded her of the way things worked in relationships.

A shame she didn't realize just how effective Azumoth and her ties had been.

That was the problem with those Soquili who lacked parental guidance. Their naivitee could result in rather awkward situations in which they didn't understand the full set of circumstances they found themselves in. Situations that would be understood by one who had been raised well, were not necessarily easy to fathom for one who had not been taught the ways of the world. It was safe to say that Azumoth had been raised accordingly and as a result, he would have spotted it immediately. Granted, he wasn't here at present and it was probably a good thing that he wasn't. The gods only knew that he hadn't planned for such a union to have brought on these results. There were very few stallions who could ever claim their first try had brought on children.

Stud he may be. Prepared he was most certainly not!

Alas there came a time in every creatures life when it became necessary for their eyes to be opened. The lessons were not always gradual, some were swift and brutal...others simply came as a rather big surprise. In the case of Bella, Cyn Generis could only assume that given her lack of understanding it might come as a surprise. That being said he hadn't exactly provided a lot of clarity on the subject in regards to his greeting which had been all but vague. He had hoped she would have been aware, or perhaps that a certain fat raccoon might have noted the obscure nature of his comment but...

Unfortunately it would take considerably longer for said raccoon to catch on and for the time being both Angeni and raccoon stood in silence. Well, in terms of Moppet she sat rather than stood but such details were trivial. The conversation had all but ceased as the Angeni waited patiently for the little mother to cotton on. It was only after a rather ridiculous length of time that understanding seemed to register on the creatures face. At this, her expression brightened considerably and her eyes positively sparkled with anticipation. After all, Cyn rarely spoke of trivial matters...everything he said generally had reference even if it was obscure.

He was talking about babies.

"Yer PREGNANT?!" Moppet exploded, unable to contain her excitement any longer as she bounced from the ledge and darted to the mare. Propping herself up on a small rock, she extended a paw to stroke at the petite mare's belly and grinned. Moppet was a typical mother, the prospect of being a grandmother caused happiness that was beyond words and nigh on impossible to express. Ah, she knew that her little boy love the girl but he had certainly moved quickly when he'd finally spat out those words. Some might have been appalled by such behaviour but one could say that Moppet held some sneaky satisfaction at it all. He had made her proud - not only had he confessed how he felt but he had shown it too.

"How long since ye saw him?" she persisted as she attempted to calculate the arrival date of her soon to be grandchildren. Ooooh, she would kill her son when he got home for not visiting but he had given her more family!
PostPosted: Sat Sep 13, 2008 10:17 am

The mare stared at Moppet and Cyn, a blank and empty expression on her features as the cogs of her mind tried to figure out what on earth he was talking about. It never occurred to her that she could be pregnant, even if instinct had allowed her to receive Azumoth's earlier 'affections' without so much as a hitch. So the minutes ticked by as the struggled to come up with the answer that completely and utterly eluded her.

Thankfully Moppet wasn't one to sit in silence for long.

As the raccoon spat out the confession, Bella felt herself suddenly go weak. Pregnant? PREGNANT!? Ears flattened as confusion crossed her, but the missing piece finally made itself known as truth; she knew what they had done, and knew what it took to make a baby, but . . . surely she couldn't be! It wasn't as if they had been aiming for such a goal, it wasn't as if they had been planning for children. . .

She had just been given his love, how on earth could that mean she was preganant!?

Her nose flushed red as Moppet scurried forward, patting at her belly and demanding to know when they had last met. Her mind tried to work, tried to make sense of exactly how long it had been since she'd seen her handsome stallion and mate but . . . but the prospect of children, of pregnancy was blocking out all sorts of further sense.

There was no way she could be pregnant. None whatsoever.

"Um. . . uh . . ." She stuttered, trying to find her tongue and failing. Staring up at Cyn, part of her almost pleaded for this to be a big joke. It wasn't that Bella didn't want a family - of course that wasn't the case! Family had been something the mare had never had and the idea of it tickeled her pink! But were Azumoth and she ready for such a thing? He had only just recently admitted his love for her, much less shown it, so how on earth would he respond to children?

"It was but a couple weeks ago," she finally stated, craning her head to peer at Moppet, her nose still stained pink. "But . . . do you . . . do you really think I am? I . . .we. . . . it just . . . " She tried to explain, knowing full well Moppet understood the art and creation of children. It was one thing for him to confess his love, it was another thing to let the mother know exactly how they had consecrated such a thing.

"I'm going to be a mother?"

Wow. Pregnancy would certainly explain the weight gain but . . . .
It just couldn't be possible.

Cyn was indeed notorious for his dry sense of humour, but as a Seer it was a matter of principle that he didn't lie about this. He could detect the faint shift in aura, that aura a mother developed when a new life sprang from within her. The little foals that now dwelled within her being merged their auras with her's until the day in which they were free. While such a thing was invisible to the naked eye, Cyn did not have to see a rounded belly to know that an individual was expecting. It was just as well really given that he couldn't see...

Nevertheless the mare seemed more than a little astonished by the news and Cyn afforded a reassuring smile. By the manner in which she had already spoken, she was more than just capable of being a loving mother. She had already adopted a son and raised him with great care, to bring forth more children in to the world would be natural to her. Granted it was only logical that she should panic now and question her capabilities...but for the Angeni this was a question she would know the answer to immediately. She may not have realised it now, but he had faith that the moment her children revealed their faces to the world, she would be the perfect mother.

Thus, he did little more than let her voice her worries and struggle to comprehend the rather surprising revelation. She was right to be surprised given how rare it was for individuals to procreate so successfully, but Cyn had never spurned the gifts of the spirits. Evidently somewhere along the line they had deemed both Soquili ready for such a blessing and as such...had lay in wait for the perfect opportunity. Their union may have been brief and only once but this was more than enough for the spirits to coax the blossom into full bloom.

However, Cyn's silence may have been a calculated one but Moppet was not the type of raccoon to hold back. Fully aware of exactly what this meant, the littler mother did anything but sit back and relax. In her head she had already come to the conclusion that the mother-to-be would not be returning to the coast. Similarly, she would be pampered and preened to her hearts content in the warmth and security the grove had to offer. No one would object and Moppet would be the first to admit she would like to supervise when the babies arrived...even if Cyn desired to run for the hills in that instant.

"Only needs to happen once," Moppet giggled and released a soft sigh, rubbing at the mare's belly again. She was a grandmother many times over but this was somehow different. Her difficult son had somehow transformed into a full fledged man. Crawling up from the depths of the void to stand proudly in the sunlight. Now he was even going to be a proper father - yes he had adopted children before due to his protective nature but never had he sired them. They were real heirs, little mini-bella and mini-azumoth children to play with and teach!

"Oooh, I'm so excited for you. Just think! If they get your gorgeous hair and that dazzling optimism of yours!" The raccoon couldn't contain herself and leapt up onto the mare's back, leaning slightly to the side so that she could remain in her vision as she spoke. "You'll be staying here of course, I'd like to keep you safe and warm, plus you'll be needing assistance whenever they come!"

"Ooooh, but what do you want more...little baby girls or boys?" she gasped thoughtfully.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 25, 2008 2:08 pm

So she was pregnant.

It made sense, of course, no matter how surprising such news was to the young mare! Azumoth and she hadn't dallied for long, but as Moppet said, it only needed to happen once. So her ebony stallion was indeed quite the potent one. . . . Ah, just thinking of such things caused her nose to fall to a deeper shade of crimson. Though she had yearned for more company from the stallion, he had a job to do . . . . and she would have to await his return to tell him such news.

Pregnant. . . . Azumoth a father. Yes, he had adopted foals of his own, just as she had Raphe, but there was something different about creating your own. Yes, Bella had played mother to Raphe but she hadn't planned on having children now, much less any time soon. But apparently the spirits had other plans, and as it was, she was now stuck with a new adventure before her.

Raphe still had no idea where she had been taken, and the young cream mare could only hope and wish that he was well. Did he worry for her? Did he fear for her? Oh, she could only hope he didn't think she abandoned him - even if he were growing older and didn't need so much looking after, she still was his mother. . . She wisehd she could somehow send him a message.

Two ears pricked as Moppet told her she wasn't to return to the ocean. But Azumoth had told her to stay - she was in danger otherwise. Well, certainly she doubted with Cyn in the area that anyone would really dare tangle so deep in these woods. . . . but what if Azumoth returned to the ocean to find her gone? What if Raphe was given word she resided by the coast and found no trace of her? "Do you really think I should stay?" She asked, biting her lower lip as her brows knit in concentration.

There were too many what if's. . . . .

Azumoth wouldn't return until his task was complete. And with the news of her pregnancy, the mare could only hope he made a swift return! She didn't want to go through pregnancy alone, even if she did have Moppet and Cyn. She wanted to tell Azumoth the news, wanted him to be with her when the foal did arrive. . . .

Well, it would take time for the baby or babies within to grow. Surely he'd be back in time. . . wouldn't he?

Golden eyes were slowly losing the first round of shock and surprise, new, softer and gentler emotions causing her gaze to gleam. She was going to be a mother, and not just any mother, but a mother to Azumoth's children. They were going to look like her and him, they were going to be living, breathing beings that were made up of both of them; living expressions of their love and affection.

Oooooooo - she wanted him to know right this very moment, wanted to run to him and tell him such good fortune! And yet. . . . part of Bella wondered exactly how he'd respond. Would he be happy, would he be surprised, would he be . . . angry? Maybe it was best to give it some time. Maybe it was best to wait.

"Oh I . . . I don't really know," she finally found her voice, craning her neck to peer at both Moppet and her stomach. At least she knew her weight gain wasn't necessarily all the seaweeds doing. . . Such a salty temptation! A shame she didn't know she wouldn't be returning to the ocean shore. . . she might very well have taken some with on her journey to save for later. Ah well. . . no need to be a glutton! "Raphe has made me very partial for more sons - perhaps an Azumoth Jr." She stated with a little giggle, her tail swishing happily behind her. "But then I think a daughter would be terribly sweet. . . . " She nosed Moppet softly before turning to do the same to her belly.

Babies. . . . . A mother to be once again.

It was unfortunate but Azumoth would not be home throughout the course of her pregnancy. There would be no doubt that he would be furious at himself for missing such a wonderous moment but it was unavoidable. Thus all of her wishes and desires would have to be dismissed and cast aside for the time being. Azumoth was destined to discover that he had more children when he came home, whether it was far on in to her pregnancy or even after she had given birth remained to be seen. Admittedly he would be beyond shocked at such a revelation but to assume he would be angry at his own mate was inaccurate.

...All right, so he would have never anticipated he was that good.

Nevertheless as the emotions seemed to flutter across the mare's face at an incredibly fast speed the raccoon did offer a reassuring smile. Where there was a will there was a way and this particular raccoon was renowned for getting messages to people. So the details would be lost for the most part but in the end she would ensure that her son at the very least knew his mate was staying here. If it was necessary the raccoon would even send one of her many children off to locate Raphe and inform him as well. It was far safer to remain in the Grove's embrace where the rather imposing Angeni lurked.

"It's safer to stay here," Moppet advised at last and rubbed lightly at the mare's belly again. "This way I can keep an eye on you and your kidlettes, plus you'll have plenty of food and warmth!" She was of course include a great deal more in the bargain. She would have warmth, protection, food, advice and a midwife. Bella may have been independent but every young mother needed someone to turn to when things became frightening. This way the raccoon could be there to reassure her that everything would be all right - plus...there was a guarantee the children wouldn't be swept away in the waves this time!

More to the point, they too would be safe and warm... They would be secrets for the time being, something that was considered a good thing in the given circumstances.

Alas the topic soon changed to a more light note and the raccoon's expression grew warm once more. She puffed out her fuzzy cheeks at the prospect of miniature Azumoth's running around. There was something very amusing about a second disgruntled foal, though the raccoon suspected that their mother's delicate nature would ensure that didn't happen. Admittedly, the raccoon would have longed to see some fillies...given that she suspected they would be as dazzling as their mother.

"Well, we'll have te wait and see won't we?" she mused softly and shook her head. "But fer now I be thinkin' ye need some rest - we need to keep ye warm and well fed fer the next few months!" she announced with a sudden sense of purpose. Yes indeed, there were many things that the raccoon needed to deal with prior to the arrival of the children. She had to child proof much of the area around the grove so that the newborns wouldn't get hurt but she also needed to gather other items - AH! So much to do and so little time!

It was during stituations like this that Moppet often wished Cyn could reverse time.

"Now make yeself comfortable, ok?"

[[And I'd say FIN for this one, good point to end at. <3 ]]
