___"Mm ..." He rumbled, his chest expanding with deep breaths to try and numb the pain. Vainly he wondered if this would impair his looks in any possible way. Gently, he brushed hair from his face and then hers, looking into her smiling expression. He felt pleasantly warm at her giggle, and graced her with a laugh himself.
___"Coy ... coy little minx ..." Shen whispered. He couldn't resist, and gently caught her lips with his. What a mysterious girl, he pulled away slowly, her mouth still leaving a lingering feeling. Shen laughed again, quietly, playing his fingers in hers.

___"How did you learn how to do that?" He inquired, truly interested. That was a very handy illusion, or whatever it was. Everyone here had an act, perhaps this was one of hers. One of his hands met his chin to give her an inquisitive look, one of intellectual curiosity that had earned him his many medical achievements.

She felt sorry and completely at fault for his pain. Tilting her head to one side as she watched him try to alleviate it, her smile broadened slightly at the soft touch of him moving the hair out of her face. It was a pleasant feeling, being touched with such light fingers. It was like she was with Grete again, and yet when his lips suddenly descended upon hers, it was distinctly not like Grete. Aemilia turned her face into the touch briefly, but when he pulled away, her eyes were quickly questioning. What was that?! Lifting her free fingers to touch her tingling lip, she marveled at this new interaction briefly. She'd seen it at the Moulin Rouge, but she hadn't understood it then, either.

And then, quite suddenly, he had moved on. Feeling the warm sensation of his fingers entwined in hers, she dipped her head at his question. The look of a scholar or someone of the medical profession was unmistakable, but she resisted the urge to squirm and instead answered as best she could, "I was experimented on. I don' remember it, bu' I was woken up by a friend an' could... make myself an' things dis'pear." She arched her brow before giving him another smile, "I performed at the Moulin Rouge with a light show. I bend light, basically."

___Shen was now completely fascinated by her, and began to pelt questions.
___"You can do that, of your own will?" He gushed, eyes wide with approval. "Experimented on, eh? Well that part doesn't sound very pleasant ..." He looked at her carefully, was she an abandoned test subject? He had always fought fiercely against the idea of using humans for anything that could be incredibly haphazard. Was she exposed to large amounts of radioactive waste?

___In the midst of his questions, he noticed the wonderment on her face as she fingered her lips. Hadn't she ever been kissed before? He smiled gently at her.
___"It's a kiss." Shen leaned forward again, smiling at her. "A kiss." He purred and nuzzled her nose with his. "It's when you show affection for someone you really ... really like." He delicately cradled the back of her head in his hand and pulled her close again. Shen pressed his lips to hers again, still just as gentle, but with actual intent this time around.

Nodding, she did her best to answer his questions, "I do. When I want, to whom I wish." Her eyes were bright, appreciative of someone listening intently without thinking her completely odd. He didn't quite look at her like she was a freak, which made her relieved, and his comments were tame enough that she could reply with ease, "I was, and it might not of been. I don' r'membeh much of any of it. Nothin' b'fore I woke up 'cept a few glimpses." Radioactive waste? She didn't put it past her captors, but the environment they had kept her in seemed too sterilized for anything but needles and plastic gloves. But, who knew?

She didn't exactly understand what was going on, but her body responded appropriately. Though her mind had quite forgot, her physical being remembered exactly what a kiss was and so her eyes slid shut and her other features moved accordingly. She definitely didn't know how he had any affection to show for her when they had only known one anough for thirty minutes or so. If that. Nevertheless, her body responded and Aemi didn't know how to say no, exactly. She did not, however, push anything further than a kiss. Whether she didn't know how or was prohibiting her limbs to do so was up for debate. She was responsive, rest assured, but she had learned enough about playing the mouse that she knew when to play cat and now was not quite the time.

___Shen pulled away slowly, enjoying the second kiss, that lasted a little longer than his previous sneak-attack. Unfortunately, kisses were like air to him, he felt he needed them to survive. Was he a nymphomaniac? Who knew, but he had yet for an intervention. Well, except that one time, but that didn't count. She was really really really good looking. They couldn't fault him for staying in bed for two weeks. So she nearly died of exhaustion, boo hoo.

___His mind twitched naughtily at her first declaration of what-and-where-and-who-cares-I-do-it. This young woman was the product of some experimentation gone awry. He wasn't sure if the procedures done on her were a success, but the fact that she had forcefully removed herself from the environment always calculated as an extreme failure to any scientific mind or laboratory. She had a mind, she could act upon it, and thusly the entire situation was thrown to the incinerator since they could not control her. Variables tended to have that odd little quirk.
___"So you escaped then." He concluded quietly, regarding her with silent admiration. "Did you have any companions?" Were there more like her, he wanted to know. Of course even as a doctor he would never have performed whatever horrific experiments they had undergone, but his natural curiosity could not restrain his obvious interest.

She could appreciate his nymphomanism. Well, she might if he knew what all it implied, but as far as kissing went, she found it to be rather enjoyable. It felt nice, and the nerves firing off in various parts of her agreed. Kissing was wonderful. She couldn't, however, imagine spending two weeks in bed if he were to tell her such a thing. Crazy, absolutely crazy. There was too much yet to discover out and about.

A kiss, more questions. Was a kiss to be treated so nonchalant? When he pulled away, she caught her lower lip between her teeth for a moment as her eyes considered him. He was definitely an enigma; an entirely new sort of person and he had already taught her something new that she quite enjoyed. Like a child, she desired to learn more but was too polite to ask for a new subject, or what have you. His question, however, was strikingly odd. No one had thought to ask that before and her brows arched as she replied, "Aye, I was tol' so. They kept me well under wraps with sedatives or somethin'. I don' remember most of it. A nurse - Grete - took piteh. She secretly stopped the injections, then broke me out. Tol' me bits'n'pieces, 'n'ere I am."

___"Grete." He repeated slowly. Shen knew there was another woman at Cirque with a similar name, but in the context Aemilia used the name in, it was easy to assume they weren't the same people. So many people in this odd place came from pain. It was almost too amazing for him to handle. How many life stories could be created with such horrific twists and turns in the world? Even with different dimensions, there had to be a limit. Shen realized that he was almost hoping she had a happy life before here, but it appeared to not be so. Pity was given her, pity and empathy made her free. Wasn't that the case for everything in history? He smiled humorously, pity was a word that most hated associated with their situations, so fancy words were made up to disguise them in oral context. Aemilia didn't appear to have any shame whatsoever, it was refreshing, if not a tad dangerous. He wondered how far she could go before it kicked in?

___"Were you familiar with Cirque before you came? Or was it really just a spur-of-the-moment thing?" He queried, reaching for his glass once more and taking a sip. The ice had melted somewhat, and the cool sweat of the glass trickled down his fingertips. A now captive audience, he offered her a drink so she could wet her throat and continue on.

She nodded when he repeated her caretaker's name. It seemed so long ago that she had left her own world, but she remembered that phone call as well as if it had been five minutes ago. That warning, and the days on the street that followed, would likely stay in the front of her mind forever. Life at the Cirque was good, but she would always wonder what might've been if so many 'ifs' became reality. What if they had recaptured her? What if she hadn't joined the Cirque? What if Grete had never had the big heart that she did? None of that really mattered now, and Aemilia rarely spent time worrying over past 'what ifs'. As for shame, it wasn't something she readily understood just yet. Embarrassment, yes, but usually that only accompanied a blunder with words or understanding. She didn't know enough of her past to be ashamed of it, and though it was tragic that she had no memory of what she had lost to someone on the outside, she didn't know what she had lost and thus, didn't miss it. She knew her real name and that she had been somewhere between 13 and 15 years old when they had first captured her, but that was all. What else did she need?

Hesitating at the offer of his drink, she investigated it a bit more closely before taking a small sip. It tasted wonderfully refreshing, but she took no more than that. It was his, after all. Turning her attention to his questions, she nodded, "Spur-of-th'moment. Someone was.. following me. Mercenaries? Military?" She waved a hand, "Either way, I saw th'signs and ducked inside. Lucky my talent saved m'hide." She wasn't sure whether or not was an appropriate time to add her own question, but curiousity drove her, "'nd you? 'ow long 'ave you been at th'Cirque?"

___Talent, he thought quietly. He looked at her with sad eyes, it didn't seem a talent, it wasn't really natural ... It was a result of an experimentation. Shen felt his heartstrings tugged on, and a moment of silence sank between them as he looked at her. Science was such a terrible thing, sometimes. Well perhaps ... All the time. He looked out a window as he took back the glass. Science led to discoveries, discoveries led to abuse, abuse led to death. Suddenly he felt very old, and tired. Shen reached up and placed his hand on his forehead gently. He was still technically very young, but sometimes he wished he was old and close to being gone. The Asian man looked at the young woman and smiled charismatically.
___"Quite a while, somewhat, just been out of the way until now." He absentmindedly nibbled on a long finger. "It's good to be out of the shadows again." Shen whispered, almost to himself, before looking back at Aemilia and giving her a demure smile.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 12, 2008 6:42 pm

His sad eyes made her brow furrow, unsure why he was suddenly so solemn. She wanted to make him smile again, it didn't seem right that he was unhappy. Relinquishing the glass absently, she made that same pursed-lip thoughtful expression she had had a short while before. Perhaps he would like a more deliberate demonstration? Tilting her head to get a better look at him beneath the hand, she offered, "I'm quite strong, as well, but I could show you. A light trick, I mean." Like a child, she wanted to do tricks to please him, like some seven year old magician. Curiousity made her foolish, naivity made her childish, but some part of her was still so largely adult that it made a startling little package.

When his smile came, not by her bidding, she returned it with one of her own, encouraging it. Consolation was not one of Aemilia's strong points just yet. His confirmation that he was, indeed, out of the shadows perked her interest. "What is your act, if y'don' mind?"

___She was so naive, it was almost amusing, and a shame that he had made such ungentlemanly advances upon her. While he was still very attracted to her, Shen recognized when to simply call a truce or plead uncle. He was flattered by her offer to show him a trick, and he nodded graciously.
___"Yes, I would enjoy that very much." Shen smiled at her. Pulling his legs up on the bed, he languidly rested his arm on a knee while stretching the other one out, watching her with subdued anticipation. What did he do? He smiled at the question, with a sense of flair, he flipped his wrist and gave her a coy smile.
___"Why ... I'm a woman." He meant simply for his show but the play on words was far too much fun. In the back of his mind he realized this might completely confuse her, which dismayed him. Humour may be at a loss when it came to some people.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 13, 2008 9:16 pm

For a few seconds, she chewed on her lip thoughtfully as she regarded the room with an indecision on just what to make disappear. In the end, they fell back on the bed once again and a wicked idea touched her mind. She had only made something so large disappear a few times before, and even rarer with something on it that she didn't want to make invisible. Perhaps it would only last a few moments, but that'd be enough, surely. Lowering her hand to the rumpled bed sheets, it took a moment, but the entire bed disappeared, flickered once, and disappeared once again for good. It appeared very much as if the two of them were sitting on air, but it was far too difficult to bend light around the top and lower bunk and not make the two inhabitants disappear as well. With a soft sigh from her, the bed reappeared and she lifted her hand to her nose self-consciously to check for blood. None. A small headache just between her eyes, but nothing more.

Unfortunately, the humor was indeed lost on Aemilia. Instead she was, as predicted, thoroughly confused. She was almost positive he was a he and not a she, so what was this proclamation that he was infact a she? Resisting the urge to tilt her head, she instead merely shook it so that her curls slid over her shoulders. One leg stretched out straight so that it partially hung over the edge of the bed, while the other remained curled up beneath her and her hands rested on her thighs. "You're...? But..." She didn't know what to ask, even.

___Shen yelped and jumped up, tripping upon something and then falling back with a cringed face upon the invisible bed. He braced himself for the impact of the floor, but rested in the same place he had been before. He kept his shoulders tight, eyes wide open at the ceiling waiting to fall. As the bed reappeared, he touched the bed and wiggled around on it slightly, making sure it was really there again. Reaching over while still looking at the ceiling, hoping that wouldn't disappear either, he made blind reaches at Aemilia until he found her face. Patting her on the head, assured she was there, he finally turned to look at her.
___"That was incredible!" Shen exclaimed with obvious thrill. The guilt of the science-caused mutation had evaporated, until he saw the pain flit across her face, and then it came crashing back down. Gently he pulled her closer and placed his hands on her temples, massaging them gently and resting his lips on the bridge between her eyes. Warmth usually helped in easing a headache. As he massaged her he spoke softly, explaining almost too casually the joke that had failed.

___"I pretend to be a woman, and I dance and wear pretty clothes, charm the boys and girls. It's called being a female impersonator, or a drag queen, I'm sure you've heard of those." He released her and winked, before continuing. "Hand to God though, I'm as straight as an arrow, love the women. Just because I wear makeup doesn't mean I don't like the gender it looks best on."
PostPosted: Tue Oct 14, 2008 6:44 pm

Even despite the headache, she pressed her lips into a fine line to keep from laughing at his exclamation. A soft giggle erupted from the confines of her throat all the same, though her lips never parted. She knew it was rude to laugh, that was by instinct, but she wasn't sure whether all this touching was considered normal or not. It wasn't that she minded it, she didn't at all actually, but she hadn't been touched to much before in her memory. She didn't mind though because it did make her feel better, so she let her mix-matched eyes shut as he massaged her temples and kissed her forehead.

Any expression of gratitude, however, was cut off by his explanation of his previous statement. Her eyes snapped open, though she didn't pull away from him until he released her, at which point she met his gaze with a rather quizzical expression. One brow was arched and the other furrowed as she tilted her head to one side, "No, I'm 'fraid I 'aven't." Sexuality was something unexplained to the girl because, simply, it didn't come up much. She knew she preferred men, but girls were pretty, they just didn't... feel as right. She wasn't sure if liking the opposite gender made you straight or loving women made you straight, so she kept her mouth shut. Maybe that was another question for another day. Instead, she swallowed and shook her head, "So you dress like a woman. And you dance?" Her face brightened, "And you wear dresses?" She was intrigued.

___"I do indeed." Shen smiled and crossed his legs, sitting prettily as he looked at the young woman. "Call it an odd talent, but I truly do enjoy it. It might even be a cheap sexual thrill." He winked slyly, being playful and relishing in the change of pace. If anything he was a little narcissistic, and adored talking about his fabulous life. At least, he felt it was fabulous. "You know sweetheart, you'd be drop-dead gorgeous with just the right touches." He reached out and languidly ran his fingertips through her hair, letting a curl bounce around his index before playfully running it down her cheek.

___"You should stop by my trailer sometime, I'll let you have anything you want from my closet." He stopped, "Well, almost anything, I'm attached to a few things." Rasui never wanted to try anything new on, even if it wasn't a dress. It'd be nice to have someone to make into a Hollywood starlet every now and then. Shen looked at her, oh, he was most definitely making her into his personal Barbie doll. Like most curious young boys, who take the clothes off their sister's dolls ... Well old habits die hard. As much as he was sure she'd look stunning in his wardrobe, the idea of her out of any at all excited him a little bit more.
___"Do you dance, little girl?"
