Why did Delilah always end up having this effect on men? Well, Delilah was sure Shen was like this with all the girls he met. At this time Delilah didn’t mind him planting a kiss on her hand. For some reason she now pitied him. There was something behind his flawless skin that Delilah wanted to know more about. Shucks, he was sure prettier than she was.

“O-kay, my trail-ar is just down thar’.” Delilah pointed towards the left. “But no funnay busi-ness, ok?” She added desperately hoping he wouldn't attempt anything that would put Delilah in an awkward situation. For some reason, Delilah always ended up becoming friendly with the tragic characters. She grew up with all sorts of people, so it came naturally.

“Come on’ now.” She forced her arm through the crook of Shen’s arm and began to drag him in the direction of her trailer. “Marlon you come on’ now too!” Delilah whistled.

___As Delilah hooked her arm in his, he smiled at her and came back down to earth. While he normally wasn't one for being friendly with a prospect, she did have a dog, and that was enough to keep him mildly in-line. He patted her hand with his and let her lead the way, Rasui was obviously preoccupied with some other thing, which was a benefit. Unfortunately it appeared that the one chance Shen had at solitude with a woman, would end up being completely dry. He sighed and ran his fingers through his own dark hair, looking around and his original persona came back to light. She'd made it clear that whatever it was, the moment had passed, possibly for good. He may as well enjoy himself.
___"What kinds of teas do you have?" He smiled at her with a friendly glance. He loved tea, it was so fragrant and wonderful. You could cook with it, chill it, anything. Delightful.

“Tea, don’t know. All kinds?” Delilah honestly replied with a childish grin.

After a few minutes passed, the two approached their destination. “Home sweet home.” Delilah grinned as she advanced up the steps of her streamline trailer with Marlon trailing behind her.
Inside was like a blast from the past. The walls were black, but completely covered in vintage movie posters, photographs of Delilah arm in arm with handsome Sailors, and a large portrait of her mom in their Cadillac. Her bed was creaky cast iron trundle covered in decadent pillows and an old stuffed bear. There were random hatboxes lining the floor, a vanity, and her two costumes hanging on the wall.
Right away Delilah set out to boil some water in an electric teapot. It was such a marvel to her; in the 1950’s she didn’t own one.

“You can sit d’there.” She pointed to her bed, the only place that one could really sit. In her mind she desperately hoped there was no stray undergarments roaming around. Delilah didn’t have a chance to clean this morning. She wasn’t exactly expecting company.

___"How about a nice pomegranate?" He smiled at her, hopefully she did have it, it was one of his favourites. Shen had always had issues with the small nodules, as much as he loved the natural flavour. The seeds provided him endless agitation, so the juice and tea were a fantastic compromise. Departing from her side, he sat down on her bed gracefully, crossing his legs and leaning back with ease. Her abode was incredibly vintage, and the quirky side of him appreciated the taste of oldschool Americana. He noticed the photos of various Navy men, and grinned, there were many happy memories here.

___She set the kettle to boil, or rather plugged it in, and so began the waiting game. It was said a watched pot never boiled, but sometimes it provided some sort of entertainment. He leaned his face on a hand, balancing the elbow on a raised knee, watching her quick movements. Brando had made himself comfortable in some pile of pillows, and low snores eventually made their way to his ears.
___"I love what you've done." He winked. Shen really did like the trailer, the classic Streamline was always a favourite. In fact, his father had enjoyed the vintage mobile homes and had restored several to their previous silver glory.

“Pomegranate?” Delilah turned around from what she was doing with an utterly confused expression upon her face. “What fancy things is are ye’ talkin’ bout’ again” She turned back around and rolled her eyes. Delilah was use to the generic TEA; the Lipton black teas. Yet for a while bags of strange blends from Egypt, Japan and Russia had accumulated…unfortunately, all of those had ‘disappeared’

“Thanks.” Delilah didn’t really understand this … guy. What had she done? The place was a mess; all Delilah wanted was to be reminded of home. “I didn’t really do much, it’s all fro-m ma’ …home.” She gulped as a flood of memories crashed within her mind. Home? What was home exactly? Home for Delilah was the smell of a musty motel room or Archie’s dressing room at the Star. No. Home was the back of her mother’s robin egg blue Cadillac.

Delilah divvied up some snacks: a few chocolate chip cookies she made last night and a few stray brownies. She always did her own baking. “I hope you’re not watchin’ your figure.” Delilah joked and set the plate down in front of Shen on an old hat box.

In a few short moments a loud cry bellowed within the trailer. “Tha’ was fast. Technology today.” Delilah laughed nervously and set towards the kettle. She pulled out two black mugs and put a Lipton tea bag in each. Carefully, Delilah poured in the scorching water as if she were delicately caring for a plant.

“Sorry Boy’, but ain’t ya’ got much of a choice.” Delilah commented on the Lipton tea as she held the mug In front of Shen. In her mind she assumed that her trailer was stocked with mounds of tea, but sometimes things appear greater than they really are. “I gues’ I used up all ma’ fancy blends.”

Delilah was really curious about Shen. What was the true reason for those breasts? What was his story? She loved listening to the history of others. All through her trips around America, Delilah had heard of many tales, many accomplishments and many failures. Now it was Shen’s turn to reveal. Oddly enough, whenever Delilah felt homesick, all she needed was a good life story to calm her nerves.

With a loud creak, Delilah settled herself next to Shen. She flipped off her shoes and rested her back against some pillows. “So Shen, tell me yer’ story.”

___Lipton, a brand that had survived so many decades. He fought the urge to laugh quietly to himself. There was no other word to describe this young lady, she was positively retro, and he was loving it. She had a classic body and dress, and reminded him of early pin-up girls in all their glory. Bright heavily lashed eyes, bouncy hair, tiny waist and perfect sweet features. When it came to people-watching, Delilah was something to look forward to.

___Shen leaned back and sipped his tea, the cup delicately poised between strong fingers. He really didn't feel like sharing his whole life story, but he assumed she meant elaborating about his breasts. With a chuckle and a sigh, he lowered the vessel and looked at her with a strange amusement.
___"I used to be a doctor, but fell out of that." He mused over how to gloss over the next few pain-streaked years. "Found I make a very very attractive woman, and decided to make some money off it." He shrugged and grinned at her, like it was an everyday thing. "I don't consider myself one, but it puts bread on the table, so to speak." That was a motto he was constantly having to tell Rasui, the poor boy, nearly everyone they knew before they left thought the tall Egyptian was gay. He wasn't, but that couldn't be helped, Shen knew he was to blame for all of the near Happily-Ever-Afters he'd forced Rasui to forego.
___"It was just too much of a hassle to get my false breasts right every show, and I wasn't performing just every night either, sometimes it was in the afternoon!" He sighed, getting in and out of costume constantly was a painful hassle. "I just decided to get it done and over with, for the sake of now, at least." Shen brought the teacup to his lips once more and took a tiny swallow. "When I'm done and feel I can move on to some other profession, I'll have them removed." Being done didn't really mean when he had enough money. It actually meant when he was finally over the death of his wife and daughter, but who was he to babble on about specifics?

___"And what about you, sweetness. Let's hear what brought a gorgeous runaway like yourself to the Circus." He smiled playfully.

Delilah was all pumped up with excitement and was eager to hear something delicious. She brought herself closer to Shen, ears wide open with her arms positioned at her sides, prepared to console if need be.
… Yet, her desire wasn’t exactly satisfied when the time came around. Shen was obviously leaving some bits out. That’s not much of a story Her excitement began to deflate, but it didn’t mean Delilah didn’t have any questions.

Runaway? “Hon-ay, who eva’ said I was a runaway?” The truth was Delilah wasn’t one. Her mother was the runaway, not her. Delilah’s mother left her to fend for herself; she came to the circus on her own free will. “Lets git one thang straight, Darlin’ I’m no runaway. “

“I may be young’ but I’m not stupid.” Delilah mused. “I didn’t liv’ in a house like most keds. I grew up on da’ road, Darlin’.”

“My motha’ left me when I was’ 20, it only made sense to join da’ circus. I was use to da’ travel an’ all dat jazz.” She shrugged her shoulders and took a sip of her tea. Delilah remembered that fateful day, waking up alone in a dirty motel room and was left to pay all 200 dollars that made up the bill. That was only two years ago…or in reality possibly 40 years ago, but who was counting?

“Now enough bout’ me, Hon-ay.” Delilah’s brow furrowed. “Ya don’t exa-ctly just fall’ outta being a doctor and become a woman…” She questioned, her voice growing softer and more understanding.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 12, 2008 11:10 am

___"I'm using the term runaway very loosely, sugar." He winked. "Mostly for the sake of feeding into the childhood ideal of running away to the circus." Shen had noticed her visible disappointment in his lackluster story, but unfortunately he wasn't quite ready to go there just yet, he at least needed the tea to be a little Irish first. The memories of drug abuse and being completely off-your-rocker insane weren't exactly teatime talk, and though Delilah was probably willing to lend an ear or a shoulder, he just wasn't ready yet. He hadn't even said goodbye to his family when he left their world, probably forever. They didn't even know what he had been going through, Christ it was so shameful, really. However, he liked his new life and didn't want to dwell on the past too long, though his entire present was afflicted by it. Perhaps on some warm summer night with a bottle of wine he might loose his lips to her ears, but not on a first meeting with tea and cakes.

___Quickly he sampled one of he treats and nodded his approval, he loved sweets, and Rasui did too. He would have to mention to his friend what a talented baker Delilah was. Licking a crumb off his finger he made sure his teeth weren't marred with chocolate delights, before giving his attention back to the young woman. She was very curious, and a very open book, though modest in her own quirky way.
___"Oh ... After seeing so many deaths as a doctor you kind of lose sight of why you became one in the first place ..." He delicately put a spin on the story. "After wandering through different career paths I just kind of fell into this one. It's not as bad as you might think." Shen smiled at her. It was true, it offered some form of glamour and fame. Absolutely it fed his desire for luscious and handsome clothing, or anything else top of the line. Shen was quite proud of being a metrosexual, and he did it quite well.
___"Tell me more about the Cadillac, honey girl." He smiled at her, fingering his way through nicknames until he found the right one to suit her.

“Oh, r-ight.” Delilah bowed her head and blushed slightly. Sometimes she felt like she wanted to grow up, but deep inside she realized that she was still a child. She knew that there were some things she just didn’t understand or would ever understand for that matter. Shen’s story just didn’t make sense to her. Maybe it was because after struggling for money, the occupation of a doctor seemed like the ideal job really.

Delilah listened intently, nodding her head a bit for the overall effect. She beamed as Shen started to eat one of her treats. Her mother had taught her how to bake and Delilah loved the idea of creating something delicious out of just two eggs and some sugar.

“Cadillac?” How did he know? Delilah crooked her eyebrow a bit, until her eyes settled upon the large portrait of her mother in their Caddy. “Oh, there’s nothin’ really to tell. Dat caddy was ma’ home.” She answered honestly, what was she supposed to say? As a child she thought that her mother loved the car more than she loved her. It was a bogus idea because Delilah’s mom was truly devoted to her.

“Hon-ay gal’?” Delilah snorted with laughter. “Jus’ doesn’t work fo’ ya.” It was alright when Delilah said Honey or sometimes Darling, it was just what she did. She could only assume that Shen was becoming attached.

Marlon who had been half asleep perked up his ears as he heard his guardian laugh. Dying for an in on the action, he bolted off his pseudo dog bed and placed his large paws upon Delilah’s lap.

“Ah! Marlon!” Delilah yelped as her mutt started jumping on her and licking her face. As if it were in slow motion, Delilah’s mug suddenly slipped from her grip and landed on the floor.

“You stupidstupid dawg.” Delilah sighed as she pushed him off and attended the mess that he had just created.

___"Living out of a car, sounds like an adventure." He smiled at her while taking another sip. He eyed the photographs and deco surrounding him, what a lucky girl ... She was from an America that was still practically virgin soil. The greatest of international dramas were just about to begin, he wondered if she'd born witness to any of them. In his time, America was struggling to reclaim their original ideals, lost within the translation of Dollar versus Euro, or some other ignorant fossil fuel matter. At least the mass overgrowth of nature had forced an economical and environmental change within all countries, they had no choice. War had to be put on hold to simply survive within the new jungles they had to face.
___"I suppose I'll just have to call you Delilah, then." Shen remembered her listing off several names, and a few nicknames, but he honestly enjoyed saying her first name. It was classic, timeless, and laced with proud beauty.

___Shen jumped a little in his seat at the sudden noise and barking, while the canine came bounding up. Brando's owner seemed caught completely off-guard, which resulted in a splash upon the floor. Generally at home, Shen would have left cleaning to Rasui, but not wanting to be a bad guest he for once immediately stood and began searching for a rag. Unsure of where to look, he finally sighed and pulled out his handkerchief. Kneeling, Shen leaned forward and quickly wiped up the mess as Delilah tended to the dog. This was going into the dirty laundry, but it was nothing a little bleach couldn't fix.

After calming Marlon down a bit, Delilah started picking up pieces of ceramic with her hands. The cup had completely shattered into sporadic sections upon the floor.

“Ohno!” She glanced over at Shen, who had started wiping the spill, with a somewhat surprised look upon face. Delilah hadn’t expected this of him. “You’re hanky is gonna git all’ dirty.” She cried, actually feeling bad that he had to use something that may be of value to wipe up the spill.

Without warning Delilah felt a fragment of the mug dig into her palm. “Ahshat.” She bellowed as droplets of blood rolled off her skin and onto a bare leg. What else did she expect from handling the sharp pieces? “I can be so stupid sumtimes.” Delilah let out a sigh as she lifted herself from the floor, clutching her right hand with the left.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 13, 2008 10:31 am

___Shen shook his head at Delilah, she shouldn't be troubled over such a trivial incident. Tucking the handkerchief away, he noticed the small pearl of deep red upon her perfectly shaped and slightly freckled leg. He tilted his head before she rushed off and he eyed her, that really wasn't supposed to turn him on, but it somewhat did. His brain shifted into medical gears and after sweeping out the broken pieces, he walked over to her in powerful strides.
___"Hand, please." He said in a deeper and more serious tone. He held her palm out flat and whipped out his handkerchief. Rinsing it with scalding water and squeezing out whatever was left of the previous residue, he cleaned the cut carefully. Inside his pocket he always carried some disinfectant, just in case. Delicately he placed a dollop upon the small wound and smoothed it on. With a final motion her wrapped the handkerchief around her hand and tied it with expert ease. "It should be fine now ..." He smiled at her, his voice getting soft again, yet still retaining a more masculine tone.

___Shen held her fingers gently, and fought his libido with great fortitude. He shoved his brain into thinking of disgusting, undesireable things, desperate to return blood to the rest of his body. Taking in a deep breath, he exhaled, well this level of calm was better than nothing.
___"Is it better?"

“Yea,Thanks.” Delilah replied in a hushed tone. She had already forgotten that Shen had once been a doctor.

“What ty-pe of doc-tar were ya’?” She inquired as a rush of questions popped up into her mind. Delilah couldn’t help but ask, regardless of being 22, she may as well been 13. She had a hard time detecting emotions that tended to be hidden beneath a person’s usual façade. It didn’t immediately occur to her that Shen may have not wanted to be reminded of the past.

Delilah let her fingers linger in Shen’s hands. They were soft, comforting. Even though he had been a bit off putting in the beginning, Delilah was beginning to enjoy his company. He seemed to know a great number of things, and she now realized that he could provide the maternal gap that her mother could not fill.

“I l-lurved ma’ mama a whole lot’, don’t getme wrong, but she could neva do any fancy thangs like that when I got hurrt.” Delilah said with a nonchalant shrug. She hoped that one day Shen could share more parts of his story with her, he seemed like a strange character in a book; by far more interesting than the old owner of the Diamond or the blind saxophone player at the Lucky Strike...none of them had once been doctors and none of them certainly ever sported a pair of dainty breasts.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 13, 2008 8:55 pm

___"Genetics ... then I opened up a Pediatrics Clinic." He mumbled, preoccupied with examining her hand. Treating her, it nudged something inside of him. Shen swallowed, his brain going back into sexual overdrive. He needed to get away from her before he started attempting something she wouldn't enjoy.
___"Thank you for having me." Shen smiled, nodding his head politely. Leaning forward he grazed her cheek with his lips, shivering slightly at the sensation. For a fleeting moment he wondered if there was a nomad hooker around he could dress up and call Delilah for a night. He kissed her palm, being careful not to put too much pressure on her cut. "We should do this again sometime, next time, my place." He winked at her. Giving Marlon an affectionate pat on the head, he walked to the trailer door. He hesitated before leaving, it couldn't hurt.

___"I'll see you around." Shen turned back, hand resting on the doorframe. She looked gorgeous, curly black hair framing a wide-eyed and freckled face. "Delilah ..." Her name escaped his lips in a longing sigh, before he turned around and left; his heart feeling like it was being squeezed by her delicate hands.
