Albeit, he was perfectly fine with this.

"You seem fine to me," Ookai looked over at the other,"Most people stay away from me just cause how I look, but it doesn't bother me unless they gawk," he smoked the rest of his cigarette and put it out.

The canine one gave a bit of a noise of slight discomfort, his eyes falling toward the ground when he thought about it.
"Well... I don't much think that appearance should matter at all. I mean... what a person looks like... is only a small part of who they are." He seemed not to have anything else to say, though, and quieted down before he felt like he was going off on a tangent.

Ookai laughed," your right but many others don't think like you do." He sighed and wondered if he was doing something wrong. He knew the other didn't talk much but usually after a while a person would open up.

Quietly, the dog seemed to nod a little, understanding what was being said, but not having much to say in return. He liked this... rather peculiar fellow... admittedly.
"I like..." he began slowly, "to give... everyone a chance."

Ookai smiled a bit,"Good to hear." He pulled out a pacck of gum and took a stick,"Want one?" he held the pack out.

The canine one gave a timid little smile at that, looking up when offered the pack and thinking on it for a moment. "Umm... sure," he said, digging one hand from his pocket and plucking one of the sticks of gum from the package. "Thanks..."

"No problem," Ookai said and put the pack away,"Trying to kick this nasty habit for a while and gum seems to help for a little while. He unwrapped the stick and shoved it into his mouth.

"Uhh... oh... you... smoke," he said aloud, rationalizing his thoughts to himself. "You've been... trying to quit?" he asked, his voice growing only marginally louder with sympathy as he was slowly getting used to this person.

The canine one seemed to nod a little at that--really, he could only imagine. After all, he'd never been an addictive personality; he was too afraid of the consequences to try any kind of substance. "Is... it... painful... when you don't?"

"Not so much, more than anything my temper flares, but I know enough of my limits to light one up before that happens," Ookai said hoping he hadn't scared the other with that piece of information.

The canine seemed to pause when he heard it, looking thoughtful as he nodded in response to the other.
"I... eh... don't have much of a temper," he returned, smiling a little. "I hope... that it's not much of a problem..."

A little chuckle--dare I say it, a laugh--emerged from the canine's lips, and a smile seemed to cross his face. "Well, that's a good thing... I hadn't hoped on... actually changing my ideals in one day." He seemed to actually turn to face the other, now. "I'm... Quentin. You?"
