Setsu considered the other with a brief glance before resting her eyes on the gray and water speckled window. It must be a hard or new concept for the other, for the male to be looking so deep in thought. One ear darted in the air to his words. Pretty name? She never paused long enough to ever consider what her name sounded like to others. It was just a word to her, and with how little she used it in this world, it hardly held any meaning now.
"..Thanks." Gareth's social awkwardness could easily be matched with Setsu's social harshness. So she took little to no concern over his little stumbles or moments of pause. Was no real issue to her, and she laid there still to dry. Though his question did make her huff, realizing now the discomfort of said clothing. "Clothes are a common thing where I'm from. And even with kitsu fur, I need the extra warmth to get by." What with a body temperature like ice, it was hard to do anything without feelings to her limbs. Thus the boots and arm gear.

"Oh..." Gareth trailed off, falling into an awkward silence again. Yellow and purple eyes looked beside him out the window as well, the rain having let up only slightly since he began watching it. No doubt it would continue all through the day... not that he minded, it was soothing in it's own way. He shifted uncomfortably, the pain in his bones and joints getting stiff and locking up.
The male looked back at Setsu and finally decided to move, twitching painfully before slowly standing up. With his tails tucked tightly between his legs he slowly made his way to the female and the fire. Gareth's back was hunched and his gait slow, the signs of submissive behavior all over his features. He hesitated only slightly before sitting next to her.
Only then was it clear how scarred and malnourished he was. The scars were deep, the fur refusing to grow over them and he was nothing but skin and bones. His fur was matted in places, as if he never bothered to groom himself. Mismatched eyes stared at the fire, staying silent for now and just enjoying company he, for once, wasn't scared of.

The soundless moments drew longer, and Setsu was near closing her eyes to even nap. But that wasn't allowed, not in such open spaces and foreign locations. So she kept still, doing more than flicking an ear to the pitter-patter of raindrops on the building. How long would that drizzle last?
Eyes half opened to new sounds, the softer pats of footfalls, and glanced to the side. Hm, was he ready to leave? Natural indigo eye blinked as the other drew closer, though his stance was so low it was unexpected. She had already said she was no threat, and yet he persisted in bowing over with tails tucked in such fear. Setsu didn't think she could ever pull off such a stance, and hopefully never would.
And when he sat, she stayed stiffly in place. So long as he was in her line of sight, there was no problem. Her chin shifted and was set on her front paws as she noticed the closer details of the male's pelt. It made her grumble, so she stood slowly and stretched like a cat, from toes to tails. Once finished, she leaned over to the other and nosed his shoulder. "Come on then, let's see what we can find." She had seem a kitchen in here once before, and it was there that she headed.

The gray male literally jumped at her touch, letting out a startled yelp. Eyes wide he looked at her, calming down as soon as she sat up and spoke to him. "Find? Find what?" Even though he was skin and bones and no doubt constantly hungry, it was if he was incapable of eating like a regular kitsusagi. Always paranoid, always fearful to the point of not grooming or feeding himself.

Only rolling her eyes to his yelp, Setsu continued in stride out of the room. Sure it was away from the fireplace, but she could always return to the later. "We're finding the eatery." Her heavy tails scratched as they slid across the tile of the new room. The kitchen. Now then, to find the food.
Sighing to herself, Setsu turned to see if Gareth would enter too? Surely the temptation of food before him would calm him abit. With a chilly front paw, the kitsu opened a cabinet, eyeing the food inside. "There you go. Choose what you like." Back-pedaling, Setsu made her way across the kitchen to a decent rug, curling up there once more.
In the very least, she was thankful the room wasn't crowded with strangers.

"O-oh..." Gareth blinked, feeling foolish. He hesitantly followed Setsu inside and watched her closely. Eying the food in the cabinet he paused, watching the female lay down before he turned his head back to the canned and stored goods with a hungry yet wary look. After giving a cautionary glance to the door he stepped closer and pulled out a can of canned meat and opened it.
He took tiny nibbles from the food inside, his empty stomach unable to take a lot in at once. After every bite he would look around as he chewed, especially to the door.
Then after a moment he paused and looked back at Setsu. "Thank you."

The smell of food wafted in the air, but had little to no effect on the undead. Setsu curled on the rug, tilting her chin in a brief yawn as the other ate. At least now she was halfway dried. Her two different eyes scanned the kitchen lazily, before drifting back to Gareth.
"Eh. You can only lead a horse to water." At least he chose to eat at all. Ears moved forward and back, before she finally settled her chin on her paws. She too glanced at the door, wondering if the gray male was actually being stalked. Or if he was simply that wary of his surroundings. "I'm sure you can afford to relax just this once." But that was up to him.

Gareth blinked his equally different coloured eyes at Setsu, not understanding what she meant - but he shrugged it off and let it go. After finishing the can of meat and pushing the empty container aside he looked to the door and then back to the female. "Maybe..." He mumbled and then slowly lay down on his stomach, licking the remnants of the meat from his lips. He did the same as Setsu, resting his head on his front paws to attempt to get some rest.

A simple nod was all Setsu gave to Gareth's compliance. So now the male was fed, and if anything, he knew where to find the kitchen now. As to herself, she wasn't hungry. Nor was she as jittered on energy as the other kitsu. In fact, she was exhausted, worn down like a constantly used battery. Some time passed with nothing but listening to the pitter patter of raindrops.
The femme shifted her heavy sleeves that were almost dry as she curled tighter. This place, this world, was certainly too serene. Even so, she had met her cases of strange or dangerous encounters. But, should she afford rest now? Laying so she had a clear view of the kitchen doorway, Setsu pondered this. The answer was still no however, what with another kitsu in the same room. So the kitsu settled with simply closing her eyes, a shallow act of rest without real sleep. She was still on guard.

Gareth was the total opposite, however. Feeling calm and safe with another kitsusagi by his side, he finally let himself relax slightly. He would always be a light sleeper, but at least now he could sleep. Closing his purple and yellow eyes, the striped male finally drifted off with Setsu watching the doorway.
