Yes they should, from seeing what I do on the news and hearing all this random gossip it sounds as though we need more people out there! And if the army were to turn down gays because of that reason it would be just as bad as turning someone down a job due to there race or gender. Gays should be allowed to join the army.

creaper503 personally, i dont think homosexuals should be aloud in the millitary due to certain reasons such as, conflict between males. (minimal view point) and all the other countries know whats goin on with american military, if they were to recieve word america is now allowing homosexuals into the military, that would not be good or us. we would then be viewed as a supirior country that has gone extremely soft. (maximum view point) due to equal opertunities acts for both male and female genders the level of discapline has already gone down in the military. i grew up with my dad being a vietnam era army drill sergeant. i joined the army and the level of discapline instilled to myself and other soldiers was very minimal to say the least. those that shouldnt have passed made it like it wasnt a big deal, and those who did deserve to pass, like myself, made it not feeling as if we truely earned the right to call our selves soldiers. if there is a homosexual male or female in the military to this day, i would like to say i am surpised, however, the fact is that there are in the military and due to human rights, the "DONT ASK, DONT TELL" act was put into play. i would have no issue with fighting along side a homesexual male or female, as long as he or she pulled the same weight as my self and my other fellow soldiers. Actually, I'd say that discrimination in some places of our country toughens homosexuals up.

ok. gays,lesbians and bis are just the same as the rest of us and should be treated equal. they should be able to do the same as a straight person can

I don;t see why they should be segregated I don't think they would act any different in the army

My opinion on it is this question? How many people do you meet in life that you know are gay just by talking to them? My friend Matt could join the army and no one would ever know he is homosexual. Honestly, I don't see why there should be a problem. (maximum view point) Are you saying that there are absolutely NO gay people in the army right now? Here at Fort Carson, I hear more problems about psychotic people being let in than homosexuals. also, on a side point, the disipline level has been lowered becasue they think that too many people quit the army becasue they think they are being verbally abused. My father in law is a specialist, so I know what I have heard from him.

Your example about precision tactics in the military isn't exactly an argument in your favor. If enemy countries in a war think that we have gone soft for allowing homosexuals into our army, wouldn't that mean they'll underestimate us and be blown halfway to hell before they realize they were wrong?

i think it depends wat postion there are in in the army like i dnt think they should be soldiers cuz they usally dnt like to fight but if they want to be like a snack messanger or somthing

I don't think gay men or women should be allowed to be in the army because they are already a minority so they shouldn't risk decreasing their numbers further.

RainJosh I think it's much more interesting for people in germany. I think that anyone should be allowed to join, of course. The same thing happened in France in the 1800s, Jewish men couldn't join, they were scapegoats for mistakes, etc. History repeats itself, always. On topic, I believe that anyone that wishes to throw their life away should be allowed to do so.
But, what do I know.
