Schokolade smiled. "Yes, exactly that." He looked back at the sunset, unsure of what to do next. Here he was, sitting on the beach with a bag of seaglass and a girl he had only just met. It would have seemed romantic to him if he had been less naive. He looked back at Maiya and studied her face. At a loss for words, he said, "Your ears look like candycorn...which is funny, since my name means chocolate in my native language."

Maiya looked back at Schokolade and replied, "There's a good reason for that. My mom is a candy corn namir." She smiled, pondering on the chocolate factor. "So...you're chocolate. So I guess we're both candy namrah. Fancy us meeting one another." She silently wondered if it was coincidence that they ran into one another, or it fate wanted them to be friends.
(It's too soon in the RP for her to really start considering him as a potiential love interest, but she's taken a pretty big step toward it if you ask me. biggrin )

Schokolade laughed good-naturedly. "Yes, I suppose we are!" He developed a conspiratorial tone, leaning forward to whisper at Maiya. "I had a craving for candy corn this morning, too..." He leaned back, smiling at Maiya's reaction. "I have a friend, Nabisco, who is made of cookie. He's constantly paranoid that someone will eat him."

Maiya giggled at Schokolade's joke, ending the laughter to listen to the rest of what he had to say. "A cookie, huh? I would be kinda worried that someone would eat me too if I was made of cookie. There's this one namir, I think her name is Shimofuri? Anyway, she's a cupcake namir, and I heard that namrah are always trying to eat her frosting tail." Maiya thought for a moment, and asked, "Isn't Nabisco a cookie company?"

"A...cookie company?" Schokolade blinked. He looked confused. "As in, they...make cookies? Well. I don;t know of any named Nabisco...but you never know, do you?" He shook his head, bothered by the fact that he truly did not know.

Maiya thought over it for a moment longer, wondering if she had the right information. "I could have sworn that it was a cookie company that makes, packages, and sells cookies. Like Chips Ahoy? Or Oreos? I'm not sure if those particular brands come from that company, but they might." She paused for further thought, and finally answered his question, "I suppose I really don't know either. There might be, or I could be mixing it up with something else."

Schokolade cocked his head to one side. "As I said, you never know, do you?" He looked back at the sun, which had sink almost completely below the waterline. His gaze darted back and forth between Maiya and the slowly darkening sky. "It's getting pretty dark," he said, checking the ground for any stray bits of seaglass. "Would you like me to walk you home?"

Maiya looked out at the ocean for a moment longer, now steadily growing black as the sun's last rays died. The waters were still calm, though it seemed like the tide was moving steadily in. She stood up, making sure that she had her blue shard of seaglass in tow, and said softly, "I would like that." She didn't mind the dark, but she was never as much of the night namir as her mother, and prefered company when light was in short supply.

Schokolade strode confidently forward after checking to be sure Maiya followed. After a moment, though, he stopped in his tracks, and turned back sheepishly. "Well...perhaps you could tell me which way your home is?" He blushed slightly, but tried to hide his growing embarassment.

Maiya smiled, and happily supplied the directions. "It's not too far from here actually. Just go that way until you reach a fork in the path. Then you take a left and keep going. You'll hit my home after about 15 minutes of walking after you take that turn." She felt a little embarrassed all of a sudden, feeling as if she just gave directions to a namir driving a car. With a mental shake she relieved herself of that embarrassment though.

Now Schokolade blushed even more brightly than before. "I...I don't take to instructions to well...could you lead?" He lowered his eyes. He couldn't see too well in the darkness and it had always unnerved him, since he had been a kit, he believed, but he couldn't remember being a kit...

Maiya stiffled back some giggles at Schokolade's shade of red. She didn't want to hurt his feelings, especially since he's being so nice. "No problem," she commented with a smile, "right this way." She walked off toward the woods, making sure that he was following closely behind. "You shouldn't be so embarrassed about not being able to follow directions all that well. A lot of namrah have problems with it. For instance, if I'm in an unfamiliar area I tend to get a little lost and can't find my way even if someone does point it out." She started to continue her talk, but it started to feel more and more like a lecture, and she didn't want that. The idea of her lecturing a poteintial new friend made her blush a little herself.

Schokolade meekly followed Maiya, listening to her words the way someone would listen to music; they were a useful sound to have in the background. He felt the weight of the bag at his neck swing gently against his fur. He felt the sand give way to grass under his feet. He felt the breeze ruffle the tips of his ears. Darkness heightened his senses to make up for his lack of sight. Suddenly, below all of Maiya's chatter, he heard something strange. "Maiya..." He hissed, slightly worried.
((Got no idear whats going to happen. Maybe you should make it up.))

"Huh?" Maiya looked Schokolade with confusion until she heard it too: a terrible crunching sound. The sound of something heavy stepping on twigs, leaves, and branches. And it was getting closer. Maiya trembled, half knowing what it was, and half imagining what it could be. "I-it's a.....it's a bear..." she guessed. It was the only thing that she could imagine that made any sort of sense. "Uh.......this way!" she whispered, moving along the beach to try to find a bearless entrance into the forest.
(This good?)

"A bear?!" Schokolade ducked his head, imagining a monstrous bear as tall as or taller than the trees around them. He followed Maiya blindly, trusting her to take them on a safe path. The crunching noise got both closer and louder, and then abruptly stopped. Schokolade stopped also. "I...I think its stopped," he whispered, stating the ovious.
