With a flicker of his eyes back and forth between Fie and the scrape, the healer in him was just so close to being overbearing and physically nudging the place of the near slicing kick. Adolfo fought the urge with everything he had, but couldn't help but lean in and brush his tongue over the spot in a silent apology for any hidden bruising.
But sitting back on his haunches the young shaman shook his head in a retrospective manner. "No, I just lunged, you did the most stunning work I've seen, or sensed even." Feeling the cleaning of his muzzle with her warm tongue Adolfo didn't recoil or even shrink back, as he might have at their first meeting.
"The night is perfect, well almost," he stated looking at the buck and having a pull from the shadows telling him the doe with the broken leg was down. He would get her later and let Fie have her pristine coat. "The coat isn't good enough to replace the one you have now," he blurted out, sounding like a male not happy with something to low in standards for his mate.
"The doe that almost nicked you has a shattered hind leg, but her pelt is unmarked with any wounds. That one would be better then this injured stags," such verdict was in his voice, but then turning and unthinkingly licked her muzzle with affection not powered by a friend, but something more.
"Please, you have the first pick since he was your choice," the young male offered the prey up, he would join in once he saw Fiereza take her first bite.

Fiereza wriggled and crouched low for a moment as she tugged off the deer skin she had worn. Her coat beneath was a glossy black like the rest of her, all but her pristine white front paws. She smiled and glanced over to check her side and smiled at the lack of any gashes or blood.
"I will be alright, I promise." She smiled at Adolfo pleased he had allowed the cleaning of his muzzle, the blood was still warm on her tongue. "Your shadows...they were more then just a lunge. I thank you for your praise, it's been much work learning to use my pelts in such a way, learning to move in the fashion or prey, or not move at all." She nodded softly pleased with the combination of their skills.
Fiereza tilted her head at the word almost and gave a soft laugh. "Do not worry for the pelt." She smiled softly her insides warming in the usual pleasing fashion when Adolfo was near. Yet this warmth came from the offer of the doe pelt there was something in the offer, something in his voice that made her tail move in a slow sweep of joy. "Thank You..." She looked at him smiling softly as she felt the lick against her muzzle. Now perhaps was not the time for another lesson, but she was certain she was experiencing a strong feeling.
His words barely registered as she found herself lost in a giddy thought. "Hmm? First choice? You honor me twofold..." She moved to give him a gentle nuzzle before crouching low near the deer. Her eyes traced the stag carefully before she tipped her head and carefully pierced the flesh. She dragged her fangs along with care slowly ripping lines down the skin before finally lifting her head. She looked over the stag again and gave a soft node leaping to it's other side and leaning over to grab hold of a flap of skin near the hoof. She glanced at Adolfo a moment uncertain if he would think badly of her for the action. She slowly pulled the skin away using her paws to brace herself and clawing when the skin would hold fast connected by tissues stronger then they appeared. Finally she had half the stag exposed, she looked once more to Adolfo before tearing a piece of meat from the front leg, the chunk came bloody, but furless and clean into her mouth.

For the moment that it took Fiereza to be out from under her skin, Adolfo got, from what he could recall in that moment, his first glimpse of the sleek black fur always hidden under another's pelt. Mentally ogling his companion he took a brief second to look at the shoulder, nothing but the sense of bruising.
Her spoken promise made him look back into her deep blood-ruby gems...eyes. The richness in them made his own heart...stop? No, for a second, but then it accelerated and the shadows moved out to do their master's next task, put the doe out of her misery.
He could let the promise stand on it's own, but her appreciation for the praise was something he felt words, at least a nod or sly smile, were necessary to reply with. "And your skill shines like the brightest star in the night sky," Adolfo spoke at last looking down at the buck. He made no comment on the shadows, being as the two-toned male had matured he sensed their strength had as well, and they were the most plentiful thing around.
Seeing the tilt of her head made him look at her from the corner of his luminescent eyes, telling him not to worry about the pelt. Was that all he had the word almost connected to? The shadows chuckled around the pair and they brushed their invisible paws against his maw, to make it point at Fie. The shadows had always been on the skinner's side, more so then his pup and teen love, probably because the crimson eyed femme had the same style of life as their chosen master.
Without even realizing it, Adolfo was staring at Fie as she thanked him. What was she thanking him for again?
Deer Pelt from the now dead doe, the shadows reminded him in an eerie, to those untrained to it, whisper.
Aw, yes, the doe's hide, from which it seemed that shadows had finished off. He really needed to get them under his paw or they might kill one of his godchildren on accident. Adolfo gave a soft, but smooth and somewhat lazy smile at Fiereza in his silent, you're welcome, though this one was a completely original smile on his maw.
Adolfo could feel a small lump form inside his throat, but the lump was from his own personal thoughts, or maybe one too many whispers from the Shadows sinking in about Fie. He nodded his head and squeezed out, "First choice," with a nod and a very surprising firm, but satin smooth voice.
What was going on with him? Adolfo tried to put the puzzle together, after all the male was one that liked to have the puzzle whole, but every piece that went into it's place, twenty more popped up as he watched Fiereza do a partial skinning. This he figured would happen and was part, a small fraction, of the reason to let her pick the first bite. It would save the pelt from being tattered. Occasionally he would catch her looking at him, as if expecting to see something of disapproval on his features, but there was no negative thoughts at all in the male's mind.
Other thoughts, most interesting thoughts to him, popped up like sprouts of weeds in the underbrush with different scenarios. Some dealing with him offering to escort Fie back to his long time home, the willow... the ivory and ebony brute shook his head as he clearly saw the bright white fangs of Fie go into her pick of the meat. Adolfo moved forward and moved to eat on the soft underbelly of the stag. Words still not forming properly in his mind and the shadows doing their own personal nightly hum of victory.

Her heart thundered at the praise he gave her and she smiled softly her tail giving a waver of pleasure. She moved to rip the meat away from the bone and lay down in the shadows with her strip of flesh. Her eyes trailed from the shadows and her meal to Adolfo as she ate. She felt a strange hunger, not for food, and not even to finish her skinning, it was something swirling deep inside her, something that flashed in her eyes when she looked at the strong male before her.
"I would give my finest of pelts to know your thoughts...you seem so lost in them." She chuckled. "Or is it the shadows giving you a hard time." She looked around slowly her eyes unable to see what he saw, but still sensing the gentlest swirling in the air. Her fur ruffled and fell back as she accepted them with ease born of practice. It was not the night, not the darkness of the shadows that ever made her fur stand on end, but the strange heat of day that upset her.

Pulling a good size piece off of the underbelly he moved to lay down a couple feet from the carcass. However, as his teeth tore piecies off and he chewed them before swallowing, Adolfo quickly found that he wasn't hungry for meat anymore, but something else.
Was this how Wazaam felt towards Twist all the time? No, his brother, shadows love him, was just a brainwashed slave to the alpha, but Waz's love was absolute for the she-wolf.
Fie's words broke through his racing mind and he looked up to see her chuckling, though the shadows joined in for a second before going about their own singing again.
A crooked smile came up to his maw, "No, the shadows are," he paused and his ear twitched, it sounded like that darn song Rally had song when she found out about Vianna, but this one was with Fiereza's name in it. "Singing," he finished and licked the blood from around his mouth off.
But with the smile returning to his face Adolfo confronted her first words, "No, need for the finest of your pelts. I'm..." he tried to find the word he was looking for, it seemed odd not having one right off hand, "just perplexed with a feeling I, myself, am not all to familiar with." Or maybe hunger would have fit better, the brute added in silence.

The dark she wolf watched and gave a soft laugh, there was no mockery in it only faint amusement. "You musn't let them tease you..." She finished with her hunk of flesh and licked her muzzle clean. Her gaze was focused on Adolfo now, she listened as he chose his words.
"A new feeling for you? A good opportunity to show it to me?" She tilted her head and stood to move closer curiously. She sat down before Adolfo her snowy white paws seemed like a splash against the shadows while the rest of her blended in with ease. Her ruby red eyes were focused intently on the male before her.

"I won't, once I have them completely under my paw," he firmly replied and looked at her red eyes, seeing that she had closed the gap between them. The curiousity in her eyes made them shine like the blood-rubies he had compared them to before.
His tail curled up around him, "I don't think this feeling is one that can be shown, just really powerfully felt." His heart was ripping in two and he could feel it doing such, but the shadows blocked out the powerful image of another face. A face that he knew all to well, a face that wasn't Fie, but Fie's face and scent swam around him.
Looking down at the meat, he tossed the chunk back towards the carcass, not at all hungry for it any more. He stood up and looked at Fiereza, "I'd actually compare this feeling with the word hunger, but not for the basic food or water, but something more...physical in... touch."

Fiereza looked at him uncertainly for a long moment before slowly moving to stand with a soft nod. She slowly turned and moved to the stag to finish pulling the pelt away in one large piece. She would need to clean and tan it, these things she would use to occupy herself. She knew what Adolfo felt, and it troubled her that he seemed unhappy or perhaps regretful about the emotion. She rolled up the slightly bloody hide and the pelt she had worn before tipping her muzzle to Adolfo.
"I feel it too..." She stated softly before turning. "I would wish no distress for you, until the next time we come together master of shadows..." She smiled softly and trotted off with her hides. Inside she hoped that Adolfo was not displeased with his emotion, for she wanted very much to act on her own.

Adolfo watched Fie finish her work, and when she finally turned. The confession of her own feels made his heart flutter, but then stop at the same time. What was the reasoning behind this? Why did he have to be the one in a Triangle? Yes, a triangle he loved Vianna, her name finally able to break through the shadows, and then he had an obvious connection with Fie.
This was most difficult, but the urge of wanting to act on these feelings was extrememly great. With a huff, after Fie had dissappeared into the darkness, he moved off to search for some herbs. In a few days, he decided, that he would go to the new calling location of the shadows.
