JuJu looked visibly amused as cold grey eyes watched the coonfox's gaze roam around the room, both proud of her collection and curious to see her reaction to it all. Her position was still fixed in baited anticipation as she undoubtedly stared now at the satchel of items waiting for them to be revealed. At first she held a pleased look until something Tal said sent her expression into a downfall until it was replaced by a hideous glare.
At once she rose from her spot and went tearing around the circumference of the fire, her hind-end bumping an already-wobbly shelf, sending the items precariously swaying and shaking in threat of falling. She nearly shoved Tokala to the side as she took over the inspection of the items with furious and careless rummaging. "Don' be callin' me that, child. I be a worm-fill dead ting before I be called.... MA'AM." She stopped to ponder the thought before a sharp incline of her head turned her sideways-glare back to Tokala. With a quick snap she snatched the bird's beak and tossed it into a pile of odds and ends towards the back of the room, pausing only as she regarded the compass. "OouuuUUU!" A pleased sigh resounded as she lifted the shiny bobble with a claw. She mumbled to herself a string of nonsense and then promptly nipped an egg from the nest and swallowed it.
Flicking the compass into the nest of remaining eggs, she lifted the mass in her mouth and carried it towards the back of the room.
Kicking aside some stray items, it was revealed that the mess back there was actually somewhat ordered into a structural figure. The shape formed an altar, a table of sorts, absolutely piled and draped with candles, jewelery, dishes with strange substances in them - even curious round pieces of metal. The items were quickly placed before a dark-strained figurine adorned in what seemed to impossibly be summer-ripened berries. "Dere now!" The mambo announced as a pleased expression returned, her body taking on a new movement as she slunk like a snake towards the fire again. "Nows you may ask of de spirits. Tell me child, tell dem what you seek."

Tal froze at the glare and flinched as she was pushed aside. Yelping, she made herself as small as possible, shivering as she listened to the banthi. Ears lying flat to her head, fur also stuck close, she nodded and said in a very small voice, "I am sorry." She didn't know that wasn't the thing to say and the reaction to it really scared the banthi. If she didn't have tighter control over herself, JuJu would have a wet floor.
It wasn't until the pleased sigh appeared that the coonfox came from out of her tightly curled up, protective ball. Starting to upright herself, she watched JuJu's reactions to the little gifts she had brought. Looking at the items of the shelves, she wondered if they were also offerings. Rather than ask, worried as it might be seen as her question, she just observed. Still scared to speak less she offend again, it took her a few moments to find her voice to answer JuJu, "I want to know if I'll ever have a cub for Al, my mate, and I to call our own." She wanted so much to be a mother, thought knew that the way Al was, cubs of their own was impossible. Thats why she was here, to seek an answer of if she could fulfill her dream.
What she expected should she have the chance, was a gem without parents to adopt as her own, but was that ever possible, she hoped it was and would find out. Though, she was still on pins and needles waiting to see if she asked wrong, or somehow said something else that was offensive.

Juju didn't say anything at first, her glossy white eyes making it unclear if she was truly listening or not or whether she was already lost in some sort of trance. She slowly rose and slunk back to the altar and sat facing away from Tal, her tail batting the ground in slow, steady lumps so that the rattle at the base made a short sound with every movement. She began speaking in some other language, her voice raising high in a song-like hymn before it died away on a discorded note. Turning to face the coonfox again, her expression was alien, even more so than before.
"I SEE your futcha, young, sweet queen. I see the circle! Mother! Father!" Her voice rang out in a higher tone, her accent changing and her posture straightening into elegant poise. Her paw gestured as if Tal was supposed to see what she was seeing, the images of a time not yet past. "I see a child. Full of love, so tender-" The communication cut and JuJu's body heaved as she slumped forwards, appearing drained. The voice died away once again and the cavern was left in eerie silence with the only noise being the rhythmic flicker of the fire.

Tal watched JuJu with sharp golden eyes, so unsure of what to expect that every movement was watched as she tried to analyze and try to understand. The expression on JuJu's face, it was nearly enough to scare her again. However, the way the voice spoke, it really caught her curiosity. Was she actually speaking to a spirit?
In the in the voice didn't matter, she was hearing the words like her life hang on the meaning of each word. She'd almost give her right foreleg to see what the spirit was seeing; however, she wasn't foolish enough to give that even a batting glance in her mind. Her spirit soared and she nearly started purring out of pure contentment, already the tip of her tail moved a bit.
The message suddenly cut out and JuJu slumped forward. Worried that she had asked too much and it took a toll on the banthi, she stood and carefully stepped closer, "Are you alright, JuJu?" So concerned for the other banthi's welfare, she didn't think to be scared she might say the wrong thing.

At once the tribal banthi rightened herself, shaking her head furiously which sent her adornments clanking and rattling in all directions. "Hoo! Ahehehe!" She seemed to laugh it all off, like the entire experience was some commonality in her lifestyle and that the fatigue she felt was a mild side-effect to an otherwise uneventful possession. Her chest shook with merriment before her tone turned to gentle seriousness.
"Ay, you to be needin' dis." She responded enigmatically before setting off on a search of the items of a nearby table manufactured from what seemed to be an ancient tree stump. Yanking a particular item with severe determination, the banthi priestess approached Tokala directly and placed the object that was in her jaws before the coonfox. "Take dis now. Take it to ya home an' speak wit it. Tell it ya desire an' cova it some honey-syrup. Make it de sweet wit a labor of love." She smiled slyly at the last word spoken, already turning away to retreat to her post by the fire.

The laugh calmed the concerned coonfox's fears and she was able to smile now, truly soaking in the happy news. This whole hard journey seemed so worth, and it really would be when she had a cub to call her momma. The rattling and clanking was pleasant to her ears, because a similar sound meant the banthi she held so dear was near. Thinking that was all, she was greatly surprised and eager when she was told she'd need something.
Watching, she could only wonder how long it took to collect these wonders and how many enjoyable hours one could spend looking at and learning about the items. As one was brought to her, it gained all of her attention. It was shaped a little like a banthi with a belly to it, cute and of neat composition. Picking up the item, she didn't ask why to anything, one didn't come to a place like this to wonder how things work, its faith and belief that they did work that drove her.
Bowing her head, she said, "Thank you, JuJu, for your help and the item you have given me. I also wish to thank the spirits for their help." She didn't know if she should just leave, if there was something else she should so or what so she stood a bit away and just waited for one more cue about what was expected of her before she high tailed it back to the Feral territory and the caverns she never intended on leaving again.

The mambo settled herself down, looking intent on watching the calming flames of the flaring campfire as it seemingly thrived with no need for tending. She would have left the young banthi to herself now that her job was supposedly done but was pleased when she heard the thanks offered. It was always good manners to thank the spirits - and the channeler - after the deal had been done, she was almost impressed for a moment. "De spirits smile, child. " Indeed they were pleased. She could feel it in the fabric of her being. The strange banthi had smiled in response but now merely turned her attention back to whatever she was busying herself with now.

Giddy, the coonfox took her leave, holding the prized item in her jaws. The trip home would be just as hard, she knew, even harder because she was weaker. The difference being that she knew where home was, and she had more drive to get there.
