The male shrugged as he listened, noncommital. He wasn't sure what to think and his opinion of his life lately wasn't so up-beat. He sighed as he rose turning to pace a little, trying to organize his thoughts. Being around the adolescent lioness was bringing back to many memories, too many things he didn't want to think about. Cowardly, perhaps, but he just wanted to get away, be alone again with his morose thoughts.
"It was, ah... nice to meet you, Tapiwa. I need... I need to think a little. If you don't mind...?" He struggled to find a graceful excuse to leave, his mind muddled. Could things really be as simple as she said? Or was she just as naive as he had once been? He liked to think he was a little smarter now... not much, but a little.

Her expression fell just a mite, and she hoped that it wasn't because she'd annoyed him that he was leaving. He did seem quite a pleasant lion, and she wouldn't mind meeting again, perhaps she would linger here with that intent in mind, it seemed a delightful prospect, really, she wanted to better know Ushu, no matter how recalcitrant he seemed about...well everything really.
"It was nice to meet you too...and if you need to go, it would be rude to stop you, but I will look for you again, sir." She said, the last a light, playful tone. "So don't disappear, eh? There are enough problems with people vanishing these days."

Ushu's ears fell back as he frowned, though he kept his face turned away till he could smooth his features. Looking back at her, he eyed the black adolescent with something like nervousness. She was going to look for him? That was the last thing he needed... some young female tagging a long after him. He stifled a sigh as he shrugged, his shoulders rolling under his pale pelt.
"Suit yourself, I guess..." He called over his shoulder, tail flicking. It wasn't that he didn't like her, or that she didn't intrigue him... but as he'd heard, once bitten, twice shy... and he felt ten times more shy around females now. He didn't want what happened to happen again... and personally, he felt so low, he didn't really think he deserved a relationship with a female. Having one trying to get to know him, well... it wasn't really in his plans right now. Maybe someday... maybe.
