((I disagree, people reading this will know automatically that because we're so awesome at roleplaying we must indeed be that awesome, and they will bow down to our superior knowledge and awesomeness and revel in it. :'D As for the post, it's perfect, dear. ^^ No need to change it at all. Vampires do move fast, after all.))

Why did things always seem to happen so fast that the person they were happening to couldn't tell exactly what happened until it happened? The knife cut, for example, he hadn't noticed he'd been sliced by the knife until the small, stabbing pain that came after it. He hadn't noticed that the kid was acting strange until he jumped on him, and it was the second that Kaita looked at him, deliberately, before sinking his fangs into his wrist that Takato really had a good thought about what was happening next. His first thought was the natural thought of wrenching himself away from the pain that came from something unwanted piercing his skin, but as an artist who stabbed himself quite frequently, he knew that jerking away fast away from the sharp pointy could cause more damage than just letting it sit there and then carefully removing it. A flood of swears and colorful cuss words flooded the kitchen air as the response that Takato went with. "-hell you never think of how badly something like that'll hurt until it happens-" Half the words were in Japanese, the other half flooded from his Hawaiian blood, and the modge-podge array of flavorful words only stopped so he could grit his teeth. But, much to his own pleasure at his restraint, Takato didn't budge more than fisting his other hand and twitching his eye in an attempt to keep himself from really moving.

[[Crimson.. I love you. XD Your words are insane and make perfect sense. Meh, okay. Sorry, paranoia loves to kick in when I do one-on-ones. ^^;]]

Kaita was pleased and relieved at the same time when the artist didn't attempt to yank his arm away from the pain that was most likely slicing through it. The blood was rich and more delicious than anything he'd had before, but he knew that the reason he liked the taste of Takato's blood was most likely because he was starved and really needed something to relieve his muscles and body cells. The predator in him celebrated at finally getting blood, and the teenage boy was capable of reining the predator in and leashing him back down for the moment. He tuned in, listening to the words Takato said, though half of them were in an entirely different language than Japanese, and -- not wanting to take too much of the man's blood -- slowly released the male. Slowly he retracted his incisors from the artist's wrist, tongue swiping across the bite marks to stop the beading blood from continuing to escape. Stepping back from Takato, Kaita watched the male, tensed slightly so that he could move out of the way or restrain the male if he reacted badly. His honey eyes were free of the red flecks, and Kaita was going to have to go out and feed again, but he would do that after this was all resolved. Hesitantly, he spoke up, "How do you feel? I don't want to have taken too much blood." His voice was back to his normal, sweet teenage boy one as compared to the dark predator-sounding one, and he was purposely choosing his words cautiously, not wanting to say anything that would spark the artist's anger.

((Of course my words make perfect sense. It's me talking. :D And I understand completely, don't worry about it. ^^ Feel free to ask about whatever whenever. X3))

As soon as his wrist was free and the boy stepped away, Takato let his hand fall heavily to his side. The blood that had been cheated of his hand slowly started to make its way back into his numb fingers and he winced when trying to close the hand into a fist. It barely had strength to close at the moment, and his wrist sent angry throbbing pain up his arm as protest. He grimaced. Could he paint with his left hand as well as he could with his right? Well, he could always try. Glancing up at Kaita when he spoke, Takato grinned. "Well, I feel much better than if you had taken the blood from my neck." He leaned back against the counters behind him, shaking out his hand and raising his eyebrows. "So, you're a vampire." It wasn't a question, but a statement. Scratching his head with his left hand, Takato gave the boy a puzzled look. "Didn't think those things were real." He had a feeling that the hesitant and sweet sounding kid was expecting something more dramatic than the responses he gave, but there was such a difference between the person talking now and the person who had attacked him that he found it a bit hard to believe they were the same person. Multiple personalities, maybe? And anyway, shouldn't he be angry? Puzzled himself, Takato just shrugged a little. He just couldn't bring himself to jump up and start yelling cruel things to the kid that stood before him, he looked a bit pathetic, really. Like a kitten who bit someone trying to feed it and then licking the wound in apology. Again, Takato grinned at him. "Threw me for a loop, you did."

[[And once again I fail. o-o; Man, I need to work on that.
Buuuuuut... -Refers to previous discussion.- Maybe it isn't dead. ^_~]]

Guilt slammed into him hard as the vampire watched the artist try and curl his hand into a fist, reacting with a wince and then a grimace, which Kaita assumed was from the pain that suddenly shot through the guy's arm. He'd been through such a thing before, but that had also been the night he'd been turned into a vampire, and he really didn't want to think about that. Kaita blinked at Takato as he grinned and then spoke. The words made him wince. "That would have been a bit too personal," the vampire murmured, feeling slightly embarrassed. As the artist made a statement about his race, Kaita simply nodded. He couldn't help the slightly bitter laugh that escaped him next. "Lots of people don't." He himself hadn't until his teacher had fed off him. With something of a sigh, the boy waited for the artist to shake off whatever it was that kept him in a state that seemed like shock and then start to try and either attack him or simply run away. In a gesture of nervousness, he reached up and ran a hand through his hair, honey orbs settling on the human on the ground. "There are two things I need to do: one of those is to make this up to you in some way, and the other is to go out and finish feeding so that I don't wind up in that state again." It wasn't the first time something like this had happened, so he knew it wasn't going to be the last, but he'd never attacked someone that had helped him out whilst completely disregarding the danger the way this man had, so Kaita was going to make it up to him no matter what the artist said.

((You fail? XD Lookit me!! I fail!! XDD
It is not dead and never will be! D: Don't say silly things like dead!))

"Bah." Takato waved his good hand at the boy. "Help me out?" Here he grinned again, the expression falling easily across his face. "Don't worry about that... I was trying to help you anyway, and I guess I did, right?" Here he laughed, more at himself than the situation. "Glad I could help bring you back to your senses..." Then he fell quiet for a minute. The boy mentioned going out and feeding so he wouldn't attack him again, he assumed that meant the kid wouldn't actually kill someone since now he had fed enough to make the other side go away. He rubbed his wrist carefully in an absent minded manner and asked, "So, when you go out to do your thing, you ever kill anyone?" He didn't put lots of emphasis on it, or lots of curiosity, and backed it up with a careless, "You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. I'm just asking questions about something I know nothing about. Sorry if I'm prying." He flashed another careless grin.

[[How about we say that we both fail? Would that make it better? I would've answered sooner, but I had another asthma problem and then school and agh, you know. It's crap.]]

Kaita frowned and folded his arms across his chest, ready to be stubborn if he had to be. Takato was ready to just brush it all off, but Kaita would never be able to forgive himself if he didn't make it up to the man in some way. And what better way than to help him out if he could? "Yes, help you out. I couldn't possibly not do something in return for how you've treated me. No one else would've done this. Of course, I don't know what that says about your self-preservation," the boy muttered, the last bit more to himself than to the artist. He found nothing in the least bit humorous about what had just happened, so his expression didn't change. He really was concerned about this male. It was a wonder he hadn't been targeted by a vampire before.

And then Takato stopped talking, obviously thinking about something that had been said, and rubbed at his wrist, though Kaita was fairly sure he didn't know he was doing it. That made him wonder if it still hurt, which only added more to his guilt and caused him to let out a frustrated sigh. Things had definitely gone too far this time. The artist's question shouldn't have surprised him, but it caught him off-guard, and Kaita blinked as he thought of how he should answer the inquiry. "At first, when I actually started hunting, more often than not, yes, someone was left in a bad state and I know some of them died. After I grew accustomed to it, I normally got half from one source and half from another. I try not to target anyone who is anemic or sick or anything..." Here, he paused, but easily continued, "And there still are the few that I have difficulty making them forget their experience, so they have to be killed to keep people from finding out."

Realizing what that might imply to Takato, the vampire quickly added, "Not that you'll have to be killed or anything. Though with how I was, I'm not sure I can make those memories fuzzy or anything." That made him chew on his lower lip momentarily before replying to the man's excuse. "No, it's fine. Most people wouldn't even think about asking; they'd just assume we always killed our prey." He paused again, wanting to get the warning to the male but also not. Figuring it couldn't hurt, Kaita told him, "But keep in mind that some would kill their prey no matter what because they like the rush of the kill. I never really enjoyed it, so, yeah..." The boy couldn't help but trail off awkwardly, unfolding his arms to massage some of the tension out of his neck. Yeah, he really wanted to go and hunt now, just to get rid of the awkwardness of this conversation.

((... that works. X3 And those good vibes'll help. :3 <3<3 Promise!))

Takato just laughed more, shaking his head. The kid was being stubborn. It briefly crossed his mind that the kid might actually be older than him before he brushed the thought away. He was a kid. He acted like a kid. "Alright, alright. If you insist." He ran his hand through his hair and looked around. "I guess it'd be nice to have the company." He smiled again, but the humor was slowly fading from him as he realized he was still hungry. Listening to Kaita as he answered his other question, he wondered how long the kid had been living like this. In all, it was probably better if he did keep the kid around. He didn't want him to just be wandering all over the place with no where to go. He wondered if there was anything he could do to convince the kid to stay longer and just relax. He seemed too uptight.

As he worked on his food, he flashed a grin over his shoulder at Kaita when he quickly made it known that he wasn't going to kill him. "Oh, that's good to know. I've got a test in the morning. Can't miss that." The light jesting came with the fact he wasn't entirely worried about the situation. It was an effect of little food, little sleep, too much coffee and now less blood than he had originally. If he was fully rested, he had the feeling that he wouldn't be taking things quite as well as he was right now, but, ah, well where was the good in kicking out a poor kid for being a vampire? "Well, I'm happy to know that I don't have a killer on my hands." This he said seriously as he stirred his food with his left hand awkwardly, leaving the right down since his wrist stung a little when he tried to use it.

[[XD I would hope it would work. And they are. This had been before I got them. ;3]]

Kaita gave a slight smile as Takato told him he could stay and help him out. That was a good start. Now he'd just have to figure out a way to help the other man out. "Thank you," he chirped, allowing himself to relax slightly now that that was over. Of course, the man's light-hearted ways were starting to freak him out a bit when he simply flashed a grin and jested about how he had a test in the morning so it was good to know that he wasn't going to kill him. Yeah, this artist had almost no ounce of self-preservation. That was going to need to be fixed. "One of the first things I'm going to help you do is learn self-preservation. You're going to need it every once in a while so that things like what just happened earlier don't occur often." But of course before he could even try to help the man out with that, he'd have to go and feed. He could do that while Takato ate, he supposed. That would be the sensible thing to do. And he definitely hadn't had enough blood to tie him over for very long.

Kaita blinked as the artist spoke about how he was happy Kaita wasn't a killer, and he found himself frowning again. In a sense, he was, really. It didn't matter that he didn't want to kill. He still had to do it sometimes, so he was a killer. Just not as much as other vampires or serial killers. With that thought in mind, he glanced at Takato's right arm, noting he was having a difficult time stirring with his left arm. Okay, so maybe he could have been nice enough to bite the guy's left wrist--what on earth was he thinking? He couldn't control where he took the blood. If the neck wasn't convenient, anywhere else was. Takato had put up a struggle, so the only place he could get it was from the guy's wrist, and even there it had been more potent than no-- "Takato, can I, uh, go now?" He was, of course, talking about feeding so that he could actually talk to the guy without thinking about his blood.

((X3 <3 Well as long as I can help a little I'm a happy person. <3))

"Self preservation?" Takato asked, amused. "I think I've done pretty well preserving myself." He experimented on his dexterity with his left hand, seeing if he could flip the food in the pan like he could with his right. Nope. Several things had flown out of the pan and landed on the counter and on the stove. He quickly put the pan down and cleaned up the mess before something caught fire, tossing the food into the trash nearby. He glanced over at Kaita when he asked if he could go and again gave him an amused look. "Of course. I'm not going to tie you to this place. You're the one that's so determined to help me." He poked at the food. "Just be careful. Don't want to have to go to the hospital or the police station to pick you up." That made him think and he stepped away from the stove. "Right. Just in case." He took a piece of paper from the fridge and scribbled down his number. "If you need me to get you or something, just call, alright?" He handed the paper to the kid. Poor kid.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 12, 2009 2:57 pm

Kaita couldn't help the derisive snort he gave. "Right, and I'm a fairy," he retorted, fighting the urge to roll his eyes. "You didn't notice that I was a danger to you until the moment I pounced. Very good self-preservation there." A brow quirked as Takato tried to flip the food in the pan with his left hand. Yeah, not the brightest thing in the world since food, of course, flipped everywhere. There was no comment on that, though, as Takato looked at him amusedly. What was so funny about him asking that? He just didn't want to disappear on the guy. Then the artist said something that made him laugh. "Now that was funny. I'm a predator; I have more self-preservation than most. I'm not going to be caught anywhere near some cops, and I choose my prey carefully." He stared at the piece of paper Takato was handing to him that had the artist's number on it. Okay, this was going into something like mother hen mode. Kind of odd. But he took the paper nonetheless and smiled. "Right, chief. See ya in a bit." With a salute, he turned around and headed to the door, opening it. Before the door was even completely shut behind him, he took off.

Watching the kid leave, Takato stood for a second just staring at the door before he turned back to his food. He was thoughtfully quiet and didn't make any more mistake regarding the flipping of food or tossing it fancily... mainly because he didn't attempt it again. By the time he was done cooking, he knew that his right wrist was suffering some pretty bad damage. He'd have to eat with his left. Well. That would be interesting. As he got his food on a plate and settled himself in his messy living room, the ruffled man looked at his wrist, then around the room, and then at the guest room that he had thought to attempt to clean so the boy had a place to rest. He at his food thoughtfully, kicking his feet up on the cluttered coffee table. Maybe tomorrow.

(We can time skip here, if you want. We can just assume that he came back and has been helping for a week when he realized that Takato can't use his right hand at all and has to use his left for everything. I get the feeling that Takato would laugh it off and say it's good practice for his left hand, taking it all in stride. :] He's pretty relaxed. I should re-draw them. X3))
PostPosted: Fri Oct 16, 2009 6:32 am

[['Kidays. I'll post him on the couch or something. XD
And if you redraw them, le'me know. ;3]]

A frown was on Kaita's lips as he looked over the assignment he should have done the night before so that he didn't have to do it now. It wasn't difficult or anything, but it was quite tedious, which was always the worst thing. Of course it was math, which he liked, so he wasn't going to complain about it or anything. He just didn't want to do it at the moment. But it had to be done. Better sooner than later. That was how he ended up on the couch. He hated doing stuff in a bed, and he didn't want to be in the guest room if he didn't have to be. Since Takato wasn't there at the moment, it shouldn't be a problem for him to be working on it in the living room.

Kaita was done with the work in roughly twenty minutes. Okay, so being a vampire had its ups and downs. An up was being able to do work faster because you were used to seeing it all the time; the down was that it got boring sometimes. With a sigh, he ran his hand through his hair and closed the math book, leaving it on the table for the moment. Now he needed to find something to do. A more difficult feat than his homework, that was for sure. There was never anything good on the television -- he'd seen it all before plenty of times -- and he didn't have anything to read. He frowned, chewing on his lower lip. So his only option was sitting on the couch and getting lost in thought. He could do that, sure. Possibly. Okay, so maybe not. "Agh, where's Takato?" he sighed, dropping his head back on the couch. He regretted not asking now.

Takato was, incidentally, just outside and starting to open the door. With him was a young woman of the sophisticated style; her straight black hair was cropped short to her chin and was otherwise free. She wore tight pants with mary janes on her feet and a sweater that slipped off her shoulder, showing off her creamy complexion. Anyone that saw her with Takato would think that she had to have been asking homework from him instead of actually hanging out with him. But as it was, the two were good friends. Pushing open the door, the young man laughed. "I swear, Marg, you're crazy." He stepped inside and spotted Kaita on the couch. "Hey Kaita." He waved, moving inside as the woman stepped inside next to him.

"I had no idea you house underage kids, Takato." The woman's dark eyes drifted over Kaita with mild interest, checking to see what her competition might be. Noting that it was a teenage boy, she smiled and pushed Tatako playfully. "Are you into cradle robbing?"

"What? Oh no, he's staying because he wanted to help out after an accident." Tatako smiled, putting his bag down on the floor.

((Hahaha, I'm terrible at this replying thing.... *sighs*))

[[Naw, it's fine, Crim-chan. That's what this is for, yes? We get to it when we can. ^-^

And I thought Kaita would be awkward. I can't remember if we gave them any set-in-stone preferences in people, so he might just be gay. Just a heads-up. I'll go back and check, and if we did have him anything else, well, it's not like it matters to this post. He's just not looking at the girl as anything but a female.]]

Kaita's ears pricked as he heard the voice of the artist he was staying with. He hadn't detected the man in time to know just what he said, but that wasn't very important, as Takato stepped in and greeted him before a woman followed in behind him. Kaita blinked, slowly standing up since he couldn't just dart up like he tended to do with Takato, as the artist knew just what he was. He let his honey-colored eyes settle on the woman as he frowned. Takato hadn't said anything about a girlfriend, and Kaita was feeling just a bit awkward standing there. He didn't entirely like the way the woman kind of dismissed him, but then again, since he was in complete control of himself, he probably would seem rather harmless. That's how he was able to get his prey close enough to him. That didn't change the fact that his first impression of the woman was not a good one.

Shifting awkwardly, Kaita tried to think up an excuse that would, preferrably, get him out of the apartment. He reached down and plucked his textbook off the table with ease, opting to go his "sweet" route. He flashed the black-haired female a sweet smile and finally spoke, "Hello." He then paused as he glanced at Takato then back at the girl. "As you probably heard Takato say just a moment ago, I'm Kaita. And," he reached back through his mind to find the muddled statement Takato had said earlier and caught the nickname Takato had said, "I guess you're the one he refers to as Marg?" He totally wanted to leave, and he knew he'd have to act fast before he wasn't given that option. He glanced down at his watch and then frowned again, sighing. "Uhm, Takato, I have a study group in about half an hour, and I don't know when I'll be back. I'll steer clear of any cops, and... yeah, that's all I can promise." He flashed the girl next to Takato another smile. "It was nice meeting you." He then gave her a slight wave and headed off to the guest room to grab his bag.

Marg let her dark eyes settle on the boy as she took in his appearance. Young. Sweet. Studious. She had nothing to worry about, even if Takato had never shown any interest in herself or other girls. The kid looked girly enough to not worry her. Instead, she smiled back at him, just as sweetly. "It was nice meeting you Kaita. I don't know how you're able to stay here with Takato, he's such a mess!" She bumped the man with her hip playfully.

Takato rolled his eyes. "You're so nice to me, Marg." Explaining to Kaita he said, "She's from the study abroad program. She thinks that because she's from England she can get away with being direct and insensitive." He didn't really mind, part of their friendship was to constantly tease one another. He glanced at the clock, taking in the time. "Alright." He had a feeling that the study group was a farce, but he wasn't going to keep Kaita from doing things that he wanted to do. "Just be safe, alright? I don't want to look at the news later and find out that there was the body of a local teenager in a ditch somewhere..." It was vague enough for Marg to think he was talking about Kaita, but also vague enough to mean any prey that Kaita might end up stalking.

Marg was unburying the television. "You mean watching the news on this? It's tiny! And covered in this mess! I don't see how you could watch anything at all even when it's clean in here!" She laughed.

((You're too good to me, but it's true. We do get to it when we can... :]

Um, I'm not sure either, actually. I think he might've been bi, but he can be straight gay. :] I don't mind, what's important is that you're happy roleplaying as him. HAHA. <3))
