Teleka had an advantage maybe that he was completely use to pain. His sister use to beat him up and not in the usual sibling way, she really hurt him but then maybe thats why he was able to channel the pain in his ear to the grip on the lions leg.
He wasn't going to let down, even if the lion ripped his ear off at least then Teleka would be able to bring the male down. If that would work then it was worth putting up with the pain. Teleka didn't want this fight going on forever. So he kept pulling as much as he could trying to dislocate the lions leg.

Locked in stalemate, the adolescent's mind worked, calculating. Neither opponent could continue as they were, though they both stubbornly held on, something would have to tear, to force one to surrender. Which meant Ashi would have to force the lion to release him before it was his own leg that was lost, he would have to use a different strategy.
The next moments happened in an instant, though it may have seemed much longer. For a moment, the adolescent's grin seemed iron, dripping into flesh like a grappling hook, as if to hoist himself upright, a foreshadow to a new tactic. Foretalons holding fast, he raised his free hind in a kick, the intent to throw the old lion off balance with his own weight, sending them into a roll that would force his opponent to release his grip and leave his underside vulnerable to attack.
It might have been a good plan, but unfortunately it did not work as he had foreseen it. His full weight off the earth, the upset in balance was more than he was prepared for, and more than the old lion's hide could withstand. The sound of tearing flesh, blood spilled into his mouth as his fangs tore through the lion's ear. His grip lost, the assassin fell, sending both into a deadly tumble across the desert sand.
It was not what he had hoped for, but perhaps it would still force the firekin to release his leg. He would just have to make it to his feet before his opponent had the chance to strike again.

Teleka let go as his ear ripped off and screamed in pain. Unlike the other male his legs were perfectly intact and so he moved away, blood pouring into his mane matting it. That would be a pain to clean up!
He looked at the other male and turned to leave. His ear was ripped and the other male wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. That leg would give him issues. Teleka snarled at the lion and turned to leave, heading towards the borders of the pride where he could see to his wounds without interupption.

The lion snarled as bodies tumbled across the sand, leaving a trail of blood in their wake, sand clinging to his blood-stained hide, his own form landing a few feet from his opponent's. Talons curled, fangs barred against whatever strike may come, the adolescent lept to his feet, narrowed yes of an assassin showing no sign of the lightning that shot through his tattered leg.
Muscles coiled, his weight shifted in favor of his injury, tail flicking with a snap. The recovery had taken but a brief moment, his body poised to strike again, unwilling to give the older lion the chance to attack first or to recover enough to gain an advantage.
Instead his gaze fell on the retreating red hide, eyes narrowing with a snort, coward. It was far from a satisfying end to a battle he had trained his life for, nor was he inclined to allow it to end as such. But his opponent had already fled, and while he would have chased down the beast to attack his unprotected back again, his own injury could not be ignored.
Another time then, surely they would met again, and when that day came the assassin would be ready. He would continue to train, to grow stronger with each day and with each battle, honing his skills into the deadly warrior he was destined to become.
The battle won, the lion's maw parted, a roar thundering from his chest, a declaration that he would not forget this day.
