Noone is ever "safe". It is what I call a "comfort term". In which I mean its made to keep people feeling satisfied with their life. Even on the internet, in the confines of your own home, your not "safe". You run the risk of someone breaking in, with intent of harm. You also have the risk of hackers infecting your computer system, which can be just as serious. You would be surprised how much information people can find on someone else's computer. Schools are where the majority of adolescent violence takes place. Whether its a fight in the cafeteria over a girl, or a full out gang rivalry, violence is bound to happen in the school system. Bringing guns into the system would be far more dangerous, as teenagers going through puberty, will commonly have mixed feelings about many different situations. If someone feels a strong hatred towards another, whats stopping him from ending his life? Guns in school would only mean, whoever shoots first gets the kill. While having no guns allowed, only allows the occasional psychopath to come in, gun wielding, and cause a tragedy. Cell phones, which are another debated topic, should be allowed in school for this exact reason, it would make contacting authorities in an emergency situation much easier. Possibly to the point where they can prevent it before anyone would be hurt by a gun-totting psychopath.
