The name Dié is of Chinese origin, meaning 'butterfly' and is pronounced 'DEE eh'. I chose the name despite it's unfortunate English comparison, because it was so pretty. If she were a child she would be teased in school.
I love to have meaning in names, and when I first looked at the iridescent Qilin my first impression was a peaceful, beautiful one, so I thought she deserved a peaceful name to match.

Dié's fortune is to have a gentle heart. To be humble and kind to others, no matter your own position in relation to them. It is a blessing to be gentle, and others will appreciate and serve you for it.
"During the time known in the Chinese history as 'Spring and Autumn' , there lived an aristocrat by the name of Kung Yu. He as a learned and humble man. After his death, the Duke of Wei awarded him the honorific title of 'Wen'. Thus he became known as Kung WenZi.
ZiGong, a student of Confucius who also came from Wei, didn't think Kung Yu was worthy of such high honor. One day, he asked Confucius, "Why was he given the title of 'Wen'?"
Confucius replied, "Kung Yu was diligent in learning and very smart. Yet he was humble and not afraid to ask questions of people who are not as smart or learned as he was. That is why he deserved the title of 'Wen'."

Dislikes-- Sleeping in, being itchy, forgetting something.
Favorite Food-- Vegetable Tempura
Favorite Color-- Soft blue
Personality-- Dié, in agreement with her fortune, is a very gentle Qilin. She prefers to spend her days in water, swimming to new places, or up at her shrine. She isn't too serious, or too frivolous, and can be often seeing partaking in activities that range from something as studious as contemplating poetry to a more whimsical activity as making a crown of flowers.
