Once again, Dom had the comfortable idea of just forgetting any thing about the silly Cupid's Chokehold ordeal, very much inclined to place all the blame on her brother. It just must have been a joke, and that was all, as it had been several days and had heard nothing back and so she hoped that Dimitri was done with his silly little farce. She had considered calling him about it, and making a point of telling him to do no such thing ever again- but decided that bothering him really wasn't worth the effort, and thus decided to let it slide.
So one could only imagine her surprise when she came home one afternoon, and found yet another heavy parchment envelope placed upon her desk in the study, her name scrawled across it. Now, Dominique knew that her brother was many things, but a determined prankster was not one of them. So, as she opened the package she had been sent, and leafed through the photos and profiles, her skepticism about her brother's involvement grew.
She sighed, only glancing over one of the three profiles before shoving them into the top drawer of her desk to forget about. Yes, she would handle this in much the same manner that she'd handled all the other recently received CC mail.
Shove it somewhere and forget about it until it forcibly popped up again.
And pop up it did.
Despite her best efforts, one morning on her way out the door, her phone rang. Now, it was odd in itself that her home phone ever rang- since she kept it as such a close guarded secret. She had three cellphones- one for business, one for emergencies, one for leisure (which was rarely ever used). The list of people who had the home number could be counted off on one hand, and so needless to say, Dominique felt a bit nervous as she glanced at the call display, and didn't recognize the number. None the less, she picked it up.
And yet again, Cupid's Chokehold surfaced unexpectadly in her life.
She'd tried to explain she wasn't interested- she did not WANT to go on this silly date that the man on the other end of the phone was trying to convince her to go- and there was a frusterating bit of an arguement, but at last Dominique gave in. She growled a date, and a time, and then was inclined to hang up as quickly as possible. She was late now, all thanks to a persistant dating service.

She returned home in a much more organized fashion than usual; she didn't throw all her crap in a hap-hazardous fashion around the foyer. She did kick off her shoes though, and they bounced against the wall as she headed upstairs.
She'd had a good time- and the realization of this had her a little surprised. It hadn't been an absolute disaster. And, as a bonus, work had for once, kept itself from invading upon her personal life.
She doubted that was likely to last long, but aah well, such was life, she supposed.
Actually, bringing work into the fold could quite possibly, be kind of fun. If Spencer was up for it, of course. She'd have to think on it...
She knew though, that she was going to see Spencer again. Because she'd enjoyed herself. Because eating Thai at a decent restaurant and talking about the philosophy of death had been relatively interesting, and it deviated from the usual fare. Plus, dating was something she hadn't done before, not to this extent, and at least it was a change from the usual grind- even if it made her kind of nervous to do.

After she'd dropped Spencer off at home, Dominique hadn't yet felt quite inclined to head home right away. So, for a time she settled herself to driving around Gaia going much too fast, while the sun began to dip on the horizon. Before long it was dark, and Dominique was definitely starting to feel the ache of the bruises upon her side.
annddd, Dee is too tired to finish this. She'll finish it tomorrow. x_x

Beautiful.
Coy.
Sadistic.
Dangerous.
Dominique Whisper was all these things- and more.
But currently, Dominique was one thing most of all... And that, was satisfied. And not her usual, blood on her knuckles sort of satisfied, either.
No, this was a genuine satisfaction with her current position in life. With those she was associating with.
And this was certainly not drawn from the fact that she had recently gotten laid. (Although, if she'd been asked she would have admitted that it did play it's part.)
She rapped her knuckles gently across the surface of her desk a moment, closing her eyes, and running through a mental list of things she should have been addressing- but her mind wandered back to only one thing.
Spencer.
Wild.
Playful.
Interesting.
Spencer was all of these things; so very feral and so willing to accept her. To play her game without protest; to be with her.
And she needed this, to an extent she didn't even really understand herself.
She was... attatched to him. Or at least, she was as attached as she found herself capable of these days. She enjoyed his company, and she genuinely looked forward to when she would see him again- but she was not lovey-dovey, or clingy about it. Her life would not change for him, he was merely being allowed into it, but...
That seemed to suit the both of them just fine.
