He hardly liked the little nicknames she called him by, hardly beared them that is. She knew his name now, but he wouldn't make the issue about that, it was likely force of habit and would be subject to more arguing. Ugh, this just wasn't turning into one of his more pleasant encounters. Really Aitumn just hoped that he could get a straight answer from whoever this fellow was she was taking him to see. Straight answer, and hopefully something of use, for Dailondra herself hadn't given any musing worth a second thought. If she had even cared to remember correctely or not. He figured as soon as he spoke with this fellow they were going to meet, despite the outcome, he would head back to Cressida and Tucker and spend the rest of the night with them. It was, after all, important to stay with his family as long as possible and to be there incase he missed anything. Tucker, was that anything. He didn't want to miss anything Tucker happened to do, say, or play.

And with Mecriana coming in the morning to play with his son, he surely didn't want to miss that for the life of him. Thinking on this his posture had become much more lax than it had been before, his neck returning to its light arch, his wings rustling into place on his sides, but yet his ears remained fully perked. He had to watch Dailondra, keep an eye on her, for still the blood bay stallion did not trust the dark Reya mare.

Up ahead, and though it was covered in a veil of shadows for him, he could see a solitary stretch of the beach, with very few dunes or even things to place as scenery. He noticed there was a single rise off in the distance, much like a cliff or large rock that jutted out from the sands below. He supposed that's where she'd take him, logically, but he still was not very sure on where they were going.

And silence from the stallion behind her. She should hve figured as much with the way he reacted earlier, but still was it too much to hope for some form of conversation? Oh well, she was sending him off to do her dirty work in the first place, so really she was still getting what she wanted. If she was lucky, they would get rid of each other, but she would settle for one or the other no doubt. How did she know they would even fight each other? Oh please, they were stallions. Stupid, brainless beasts that faught over everything and nothing at the same time. Was it too much to ask that they simply followed their natural instincts? She thought not; quite smugly so.

Her gaze traveled along the beach and the wonderful softness of the moonlit sands, taking the time to delight in the pleasure it brought her from looking upon it. Dips, turns, dunes all disappeared as they neared the solitary beach of the beast; and instinctly her tails twisted with sething displeasure. Nothing wonderful to look at over here, and possibly a disgusting pile of fish bones lying around somewhere. Unnatural freak! She figured she would be doing society a favor, a monster like that- which already craved flesh as its meals- would likely go after their foals or fruits next. Indeed, it was best to get rid of the freaks.

It was here, in the direction of a single large obstruction- most likely a rock or small cliff- that she stopped in her tracks and turned to the blood bay known as Aitumn. "I will accompany you to his lair however keep in mind I am a lady of fine breeding and as such I shall not be expected to come to your aid in hte cirrcumstance that you are in need of it- EEK!" A surprised squeak left her as Aitumn pushed past, giving her little regard despite the contact. Clearly, he was either very rude or did not like her one bit. Fine, she still wanted to see what would happen, and silently followed.

The silent calm of the night drifted up to the feathered stallion, his eyes cooly drifting open and closed between momentary yawns that escaped his beaked muzzle. It had been a long journey back home, and though the weather was still rather chilly here in his solitary paradise, Sanue could not stand the meat of tiny critters and the crunching of their bones any longer. Fish was a much better dinner item anyway; easy to swallow, easy to catch, and the taste was simply devine. Not to mention he looked rather silly stooping down to run after a rabbit or squirrel. And ferret, don't get him started on the little buggers and how they found such exceptional hiding places. If it weren't for that, he supposed he would have enjoyed them a snack.

As it was, Sanue was beat and ready to flop down on his side to allow his feeth the well-deserved rest. Which he promptly did at the top of his look-out rock, folding his wings in tightly and allowing his fierce head to lay upon the cold stone. ready for sleep to ensue, his olive-eyes shifted up to the moonlight for a moment more before they drooped in sleepiness.

It would have ended right there, he would have happily allowed himself to succomb to the shims and fancies of a good dream, but an odd sound caught his attention. Being as how he wasn't use to anything but the sound of the waves on the beach, he beaked muzzle lifted slightly as if in alertness, olive-eyes shooting open. Hooves? It sounded like hoot beats against the stone of his rock, but wasn't quite sure. There was a brief moment where he thought it may be Ignatius, but then sense kicked in and he was on his claws onece more. It was still too cold for his scaled friend to return.

Now of course he still heard Dailondra's hooves behind him, but Aitumn really wasn't going to be paying attention to her anymore; or at least he would try not to. She aggitated him, fully aggitated him, and he bet if this business with Zak wasn't around he would have surely have taken the time to set her straight about this whole ordering him around thing. Until then, she would be ignored and not paid any mind.

Up ahead as his hooves stuck the cold stone, he could hear the shifting of another body up ahead. The stallion was obviously up there, and though he hadn't a clue what Dailondra meant by 'ugly', he wasn't about to take it to heart. It was just another nequus, one of which that could help him quite a bit if he had any information. Yet, he didn't want to disturb or startle the fellow, who may very well not want any company at all. Especially at night. Luckily though, Aitumn figured he was awake with the movement he heard, so it should be fine. Maybe.

"Evening", he happened to call up, hoping for a friendly response, and trying to probe for mood before going on.

Being behind Aitumn now, there was no reason to hide her discomfort, her displeasure, and her gnawing disapproval of the freak stallion up ahead. Quite frankly her ears pinned themselves against the sides of her skull as a sort of vibrant anxiousness came over her. Soon, Aitumn would take care of her problem one way or another, soon one of them will be gone, or both of them will be gone; and she wouldn't even have to lift a hoof to do it. Oh this was just wonderful, this was the wonders of a being a mare of proper breeding. Heh... wait a minute?

'Evening?' He starts off pleasantly, saying 'evening'?! What kind of stallion was this?! What kind of- oh wait, he was a panzy. She remembered her first impression of him quite clearly now and she couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. That was absolutely not the way to start a fight, and thusly not get the business done. Him and his petty question about seeing whats-his-face, it didn't matter to the Reya mare.

"Indeed! An evening to remember, for it will be your last! Vile creature, ugly freak, you don't deserve the life you were given. Flesh-eater! Filthy flesh-eater!" If that didn't get the feathered fellow riled up, she had plenty more where that came from.

He awaited silently in the darkness he had grown accustomed to since he had lived at the beach, although still it was mostly dark shadows to his sights. Hoofbeats, he was sure now, as they came up towards his rockly cliff. A pair. Either some couple looking to be alone, or - as his paranoid mind told him- some nequus who had heard of a freak Jala living on this stretch of a beach. It was highly unlikely, he knew and he understood, but that did not stop the subjective hippogriff from ruffling his feathers against his neck and turning to fully face whoever it may be that came up the other side.

Then a voice, clear, unchecked with any show emtion other than uncertainy. Maybe, he wasn't quite sure what it was, he just knew it was there. So, there was one stallion at least, and thought that hardly made a difference in other Nequus' personality, he knew it was most likely a stallion who would be willing to engage in battle. As they were rather prideful; as he himself knew quite well. Asides from being awoken from his sleep, Sanue was at least feeling a little more on the calmer side; however that could be acredited to his tired state.

And then something else came upon him, a second voice, a mare's voice. And one he didn't quite care to listen too. Demons. All of them. All nequus were some form of demons. They were disgusted by him, threatened by him, and obviously these two had become rather daring and apparently were very against his existance. It was one of those encounters, one of which he was sure would not need any holding back on his part. No ducking his head in shame. No silently skirting to the side to avoid contact with others. They were here, they wanted trouble, and he wasn't a coward.

"A fine day it is then, ma'am. I would applaud you two to not take very long, for I am very tired." Sure, he had no problem being cocky, he had his weapons, they had hooves. It was almost criminal on his end.

And this was the part where he and his guide hopped completely different paths. He had known not to trust her, completely and totally known not to trust her, and this just proved him right without a second doubt. He could even see very well in the dark, so he hadn't a clue what this other Jala stallion even looked like. He supposed that didn't even matter. As it was though, he was tired of the mare's company, tired of her smooth talk, and tired of her lies. Right now, he really didn't want to get moved into the same category as her, so as soon as the other stallion responded he stepped off to the side and gave an idle flick of his lengthy tail.

"And I would appreciate not being grouped with her. Orginally I had come to ask for help, but I find your hooves are full at the moment. So, I shall be back in the morning?" He wasn't quite sure what he saw in the darkness, but in the silence of the night his imagination played tricks of him. He saw many fantastical creatures in his mind, monsters even, but they were simply fathoms of imagination that he could easily tame. After the silence of the other stallion, and as Aitumn's dull dark eyes stayed level and steady, he finally spotted a slight bob of the other's head.

Aitumn didn't bother to wait around to find out what was going on, he didn't want to get off on a bad leg with someone who may be able to help him, and so he would come back in the morning after the both of them had some sleep. As for Dailondra... she was on her own. He didn't appreciate being mocked, tricked, and treated as a simple pawn. She got herself into trouble, and she would surely get herself out; for Aitumn did not share the same views of such a Nequus.

With a slow amble he turned his back on the pair, carefully heading down the side of the rock till he was at the bottom- for even Aitumn had difficulty in the dark. He wanted to get back to Cressida, to Tucker, to Rhea. He wanted to spend his time with his family, and he would not miss it for a reason such as this.

"W-what?!" How dare he! How dare he leave her in such, eep, danger. Usually her words were quite well fitted to her tongue, and though she curbed them for no one she wished she would have done so for the feathered freak. Oh darn, oh drat! Unlike the Jala's, she was quite capable of seeing things in the dark, not the extent of the day time, but quite well off indeed. She saw the hooked beak of the freak before her, the broken hooves- which she now realized to be claws of some sort- and the feathers that decorated his sleek neck. Still, her eyes narrowed in the dark ness as she took an appauled step backwards, best to keep it up.

"Sir! I am a lady! We do not, do not, raise our hooves or our horns to fight; and I shall not be the one to do so. Though I stand by what I said, leave this beach, leave this place; for I claim it as my own." There, that ought to set him straight. As she spoke her head listed as high as it would go upon her neck, flopping a curly forelock off to the side of her face and leaving it to brush her cheek and stay in its new found place. If he had any sense, any sense at all, he would leave one such as her- with proper breeding and influence- alone and would certainly follow her commands and her whims. That the only thing stallions were good for, taking orders and fighting one another. At some point, playing the role of a sire and a mate, but even those nequus were of low quality and quite absurdly so. "So, freak? Leave before-... before I make you." Despite herself and her ideals, she happened to faulter slightly in her speach; slender tails wrightling over themselves in anxiousness.

If that didn't ruffle his feathers he wasn't sure what would. Leave his beach? Leave the solitude he had found after his life of persecution from the body of Nequus he had come to dispise? To return to the land of the Inner-demons? He would have thought she had the brains to leave when the other stallion had done so, whatever his plans had beem, apparently it would wait till morning. He wasn't quite sure why, but he was sure he probably wasn't going to like waking up in the morning. Be it blood bath, anbush, or a simple regrouping of power and numbers over the night. He had allowed the other to leave however, for this rock was a sacred place to him, and he would allow no blood shed upon it from an unwilling opponent.

This mare though, Reya as far as he could tell, though he supposed her leathery wings could have possibly been Aeri as well, was quite a barrel of a nerves. Stupid nerves. That last part? Claiming his territory? The hippogriff couldn't help but feel the stiffling of his voice against his throat, not one he used often either. Freak? Yes, he was a freak, he knew that well, but she had not the position to be calling him so. And so, startling the quiet night out of its silence, the hippogriff's piercing voice illuminated the night. The sound itself was much like an eagle's scream, sharp like daggers as it sliced the air.

"Unless you have the intention of forcibily doing so, I reccomend you leave this place before I'm no longer able to control the contorting of my talons. Which I assure you, would look rather lovely around your neck." He wasn't necissarily mean, he didn't threaten the weak or unprovoking kind, but he usually never allowed such insults in an open manner as this; while in his place of solitude.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 7:56 pm

Dailondra, though she seemed unsure and nervous at the moment, only raised her nose to the sky, to the point where it was very difficult to see him without rolling her eyes down at him to do so. Ugly creature, flesh-eating freak. It sickened her to think something like that could possibly be created in the world of the Nequus, of society, of properness and joy. The world was not a cruel place once you learned to manipulate and flirt with it. He, however, was just unnatural. A monster no doubt sent from the evils of the eternity of liars to eat up and destroy their offspring, and thusly any chance they ever had at surviving. Well, she wouldn't stand for it. She wouldn't allow this evil to be living on the same world, terrain, beach, or even rock as her.

True, she was a lady and ladies must not fight, but that did not stop her from threatening anything. "I think not. I told you before, I am claiming this beach as my own and I do not want to see you on it again. Don't like it? Sorry, but in this world there is no room for foal-eating freaks like yourself. An ugly monster at that. Just get your bird-brained, feather-headed self out of here and no one ever has to know you exist. Okay, Sug?" Let the rest of the world deal with him, she just wanted the ugly Jala away from her and any other place she might be around the ocean.

And she obviously wasn't getting the message through her thick skull, which irratated and amused the stallion thusly. He could easily cut her to ribbons, could easily grab hold of that exposed neck with his foretalons and get the job done with a single snap of his sharp beak that was accustomed to ripping flesh from body. Though, it was fish and rabbit flesh, but honestly it couldn't be that different from nequus flesh. He had the urge to do so, he wanted to do so, but she had neither attacked him first or threatened to do so. Bugger. He would have enjoyed it, and no doubt the release of his pent-up energy would have been a good one.

So, instead of words, and instead of arguing the point which could have taken much longerthan neccissary, the feathered stallion did what he could to fighten her off without harm. She may not even venture back afterwards. A harsh cry from beaked muzzle, screaming like an eagle would have, and Sanue dug his back hooves into the stone to leap forward and out towards the dark Reya mare. He had no intention making contact, but instead would catch himself on his back hooves, still reared up with talons out and ready for the kill; wings unfurled to keep his balance and make him look bigger. His only satsifaction, was when he heard the scrambling of hooves against the stone rock.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 8:12 pm

It was very unexpected, where she had thought he would either succomb to her will or argue the point further, the ugly beast actually charged her! Leapt out with claws unfurled and that terrible scream piercing her ears again! She hated herself for it, but the Reya mare could not help the startled cry that lept from her lips, gurgling down any retort she would have had. Much less a battle cry of her own.

In a flurry of hooves and curly mane she stumbled sideways to get at the side of the rock again, her legs moving as quickly as they could to carry herself away from the place; screaming mind you. With eyes shut tightly for a few seconds, for she was quite certain he would have tried to eat her had she given the chance, Dailondra charged into the night throwing her head about as if to release herself from the creature's pretend grasp.

It was only moments after that she realized he was not chasing her, and with a quivering to her hide she didn't bother to look back at the cliff; afraid to see he might be up in the air and after her that way. Oh those mean stallions! Brutes! She didn't want anything more to do with either of them, oh no! A proper lady should not be treated like such, should not be denied her desires and her wants... and, and... perhaps it was time to rejoin the herd after all. It was much harder living on her own than she had first perseived.

With that taken care off, the hippogriff nequus allowed his body to shift back down to his tired foreclaws. Lucky, he really was a sleepy guy at the moment, and wouldn't have been in the best condition for a fight. However, that did not stop Sanue from giving a harsh snort from his beaked muzzle. It showed her right, trying to come in here and disturb his peace just for the purpose of demanding his leave. He would not have it, by anyone, and he was certain a particular scaled Reya would agree with such points.

Already sleepy from needing to rest after the day's travel, Sanue watched the horizon for a moment longer before slipping off to rest on his side once more. It was good to be off his feet, good not to care about standing or anything of the sort. And though it would get uncomfortable sometime during the night, he wasn't particularly worried about it right now.

However, what did happen to take his mind by the scruff at the moment was the thought of the other stallion and whatever he had planned for morning. Now, Sanue could possibly plan to convientantly not be here in the morning, but he was much to uncarring on the subject to do so. Whatever it was, whatever was being planned, he would deal with it in the morning and when he could easily get himself out of his tired rut.

Slowly, softly, sleep grasped the feather's stallion's mind as once more he was left to his peace upon his look-out rock.
