"No no, it was a tie, okay?" Genge insisted, rolling onto his front, "Yeah, I think some water would be good for me." He grinned. Inside, he knew that it was probably quite foolish for him to be over exerting himself like that, but he didn't particularly care. It had been a long time since he had played with anyone.
"Thanks, you're fast too." He beamed, feeling like a cub again.
He paused. Had she just called him a good friend? Was he? "Thanks." He said sheepishly as he stood himself up on his shaky legs, ready to follow Mawi to the nearest watering hole.

Mawi Mai laughed. "If you say so." She grinned and started walking at his side not wanting him to fall. She could see the watering hole not that far ahead. She flicked her tail behind herself. "Its true." She grinned at the 'thanks' from him as she made it to the watering hole. "Drink up and relax." she said with a mother like smile before lapping up some water herself and laying down on the cool grass.

"You are very kind." Genge smiled, bending down to lap up some of the cool water. While he normally resented those who tried to help him, he decided that with Mawi it was for the best. She had basically saved his life, after all.
"Can I ask you something, Mawi?" Genge sat up, tilting his head at her before proceeding.
"Why are you so nice to me?"

"Oh course." She said with a bright smile. She listioned to his question and started thinking for a moment. Why was she nice to him? She pondered it in her mind for a moment. "I'm nice to everyone." She thought out loud. She nodded. "Just because at first you wern't really nice to me that gave me no reason to be mean to you." She nudged him slightly. "And plus you are very nice, some one just has to get past the outside." She smiled at him with a bright smile.

"Nice to... Everyone?" Genge furrowed his brow, as if in deep thought. He had been nice to everyone at one point, he knew that much, but why had he stopped? Once everyone began to realize how weak he was, Genge had become easily angered and generally bitter.
"I don't deserve your kindness." Genge smiled warmly, hiding the shame he felt for having snapped at Mawi upon first meeting her. "Not many are as genuinely kind as yourself. Least of all me." It was true, everyone in his pride was 'nice' to him, but he knew they didn't respect him. They were kind out of pity, not because it was the right thing to do. Mawi was just being nice when she offered him help... She didn't originally know that he had a problem.
"Thank you Mawi, thanks a lot."

Mawi blushed a bit. "Yes. Yes you do Genge. You are a very nice guy, you just want respect." She grinned slightly and pushed herself up getting ready to stand. "Well." She said shaking her head getting the hair out of her eyes. "I really should be getting home. You gonna be ok Genge? Do you want me to wait? And its no problem." She said to his thanks. She grinned and nudged him slightly.
"You have to promise me this Genge, you owe me 'cause I saved your life." She winked at him. "Be more happy, play more. Be yourself. Don't let others put you down..."

Genge simply smiled. He appreciated the kind words, but he didn't truly believe them. "Of course. I ought to be going too." He nodded, "I'll be fine, thanks to you. I'll be sure to come and visit again sometime." He beamed.
Genge laughed, "Of course, anything you say." His spirits lifted slightly at the thought. Someone really wanted for him to be happy. That alone meant the world to him. "I'll do my best."
With that he bowed, as he always did as a sign of respect upon his departure, and turned to leave. "Just do me one favor and don't forget about me." He called as he walked, smiling all the while.
