At one point or another she had stopped watching him and just kept going on her own, though she hadn’t noticed herself doing so. She was enjoying herself greatly, having fun learning something new. She’d always liked creating things, ever since she was a rina.
She didn’t notice him get up and move closer to her, so as he spoke it caused her to jump slightly but she tried to cover the action with a slight shiver. Her mind had wonder of into a day dream like state. Smiling to him she nodded in thanks. “ This is really fun, thank you for showing me. ” Looking back at her work she made a happy noise, something like a giggle. She’d dug a tiny hole in which she had places three little mounds of sand. One each for both her and Kyo and another for the sand mountain they where building.

Kyo watched her enjoy the new experience and when her attention went back to it he snuck away leaving her to it without his distracting her. A long trail of his lights was left in his wake, leading up to the male digging up another hole. He was off to the side behind her giving her space but also a view of her without being obvious of his intentions.
He was busy for a long while, molding sand into an image. Occassionally he growled as the waves were stronger here and tried to wash it away. But he was determined to make it work. When he thought it was complete he padded over to her and smiled. "Would you like to see my new one?" his head motioned in the direction behind her. It was his best rendition of her face arched up off the beach in a manner like the mountain. Her hair was sweeping away towards the water as the waves continued to try and destroy his work. Her ears were a little misshaped as were her eyes.

She looked up at him, giving a smile and nod. Standing she used to puff of fur at the end of her tail to dust the sand off her bottom. Climbing out of the hole she walked in the direction he had motioned to a look of shock and surprise spreading over her face. “ Wow, that’s great. ” She smiled getting up closer to it to look. “ You did this? ” It was less a question and more a comment, as they where the only ones there. “ It’s wonderful Kyo, thank you. ” She turned to look at her, her bi colored eyes a shine with happiness before she looking back. Watching the waves try to steal it away lessened her smile though. “ I wish I could protect it though. "

Grinning like a fool he nodded his head. "I'm glad you like it" He could see the flaws but didn't bother to mess with it. Catching the smile starting to fade from her face he frowned at his work. "I'll just make another where it won't go away. It will be better too" He stared at the image for a little while longer then seemed to loose interest in it.
Something caught his attention now and he bounded into the surf. His strand of lights were getting wet but he figured a brief run in the water wouldn't hurt. Bending his head down he scooped up a shell and brought it to her, setting it down. "What do you think it is?" He asked curiously, looking it over then up to her hoping she might know.

Staring at the item Kyo had dropped before her she tried to recall seeing something like it before. But for the life of her she couldn’t remember seeing something like this before. “ I don’t know, I don’t think I’ve seen one before. ” Pawing at it she turned the shell over so she could see the other side. The outside had been grayish and rough. Not very nice to look at really, least not as far as Hallie thought. But when she turned it over her eyes widened at the sight. The inner part of the shell was shiny, a mix of blues, silvers and purples. Smiling to looked up at Kyo. “ I don’t know what it is but it’s pretty. I like it, think I'll call it a whats-it, if you don't mind. ”
(( And that is my Little Mermaid moment for the day. ))

Watched her look over the shell, just as curious about the thing as she was. Somehow until now he had missing seeing these laying around. Being pretty oblivious sometimes, he tended to miss alot. "Huh your right it is pretty.. and shiny." His head tilted as he glanced at her. "A whats-it? Alright that's what it is." With a paw he poked at the whats-it wondering what they could do with it. It looked fragile yet sturdy. "You could take it home with you if you want."

Nodding at his comment about it looking fragile yet sturdy and wondered what it could be used for. It was really to small as far as she could tell to be really useful for anything. Well maybe a bowl, or decoration? A happy smile crossed her face when he said she could take it home and she looked up at him from where she sat. A moment later she was at her feet and to his side, giving his cheek a tiny friendly lick. “ Thank you, I love it. I’ll cherish it always. ” Turning back to the shell, she knew she had to do something special with it. And she defiantly had to make sure it was always safe. “ This is the first gift anyone has ever given me. Thank you Kyo. ” She looked up to him, a happy look in her bi colored eyes.

Kyo blinked, caught staring at her from the friendly lick. His cheeks flushed under his fur and got more tangled up in his string of lights as he shuffled his paws. "You're welcome" He gave her a cheesy grin.
Sitting down out of reach of the water he groomed his wet fur, a hassle with those lights in the way. Sand wasn't particularly fun to taste either. Glancing to her then the sky he noticed it had gotten a bit later from when they met, the sun just past being directly above them some time in the afternoon. "Are you hungry at all?" he questioned her feeling an emptiness in his stomach.

She had returned to her seated position once more, pawing at the shell gently to make it rock in the sand. She loved the glow like shin that moved across the surface as she tilted it one way and then the other. It was just as he spoke that she both felt and heard her stomach growl for food, allowing her to know she was hungry. Lifting a paw to try and cover the offending noise she look to him, hoping Kyo hadn’t heard. She smiled sheepishly, a light blush forming on her cheeks as she nodded. “ Yes, I… could use something to eat. ” She was a little surprised she had managed to get this hungry without noticing.

The waves lapping at the beach made it hard to hear such a noise when he wasn't within real close range of her. He did however catch sight of her movement making him chuckle. "Come on then. We can find some berries." After swimming and being by the water so long he didn't want to put forth the energy to catch a fast swimming fish out in the sea.
Getting up he started across the sands only to trip over his lights and get a mawful of sand. He looked a little sick after standing upright again. That naeusiating feeling kept him from being overly embarrassed infront of her for the fall. He couldn't speak, muzzle dry and dirty.

Nodding Hallie had gotten up to follow slowly behind the male, about a foot or two back. She watched as he tripped and fell though, and in the first moment she had to stop herself from grinning slightly. She knew it wasn’t funny as she came up a long side of him. He looked ill. She had thought he’d fallen on purpose, trying to make her laugh or something. She hadn’t realized at first that he had actually hurt himself. “ Are you ok? ” She looked at him with honest worry in her eyes. “ Can I do something? ” She really didn’t see how she could, but if there was something she wanted to know.

Kyo worked out most of the sand, leaving behind the grity after taste. He shook his head to both her questions unsure how she could help. He didn't want to swallow and closing his muzzle would only remind him of the sand still lingering. Glancing down he lifted one front paw then the other looking quite silly as he worked out the knot and tangle in the line wrapping his feet.
When he felt it was safe enough to walk again, he motioned with his head to follow him. He knew there was a river close by through the forest. Unfortunately for him it wasn't a short walk. Keeping an eye on her, he moved through across the forest floor trying not to catch the string of lights on any bushes or roots.

Hallie being the worrier she was watched Kyo closely now. Even walking more beside him then behind. She seemed ok, and she hoped that his reason for not talking was merely due to the mouth full of sand he had gotten. She wasn’t completely sure where they where going but she figured it was likely towards drinkable water of some sort. Stopping a moment she thought she had heard something following closely behind them but looking back all she saw was the cord to his lights and continued.
She had to admit that the shiny lights where very pretty and interesting when he wore them but she worried that doing so was a little unsafe for him. Part of her wanted to say something, as a friend she cared if he got hurt. But the other part of her worried he would get upset and might no think of her as a friend. She really did want to have friends and he was the first Tae she had really interacted with ever.
Coming up upon the stream she smiled hurried up to it. Turning at the edge she waited for Kyo to rinse him mouth and take a drink. “ Better? ”

Kyo prefered her walking beside him to keep from looking back so much to check on her. He looked miserable and winced every time he was forced to swallow, the sand rough going down. When she stopped so did he, looking at her curiously. Carrying on he thought on the circumstance he got himself in, grumbling in his head about being an idiot to trip and end up that way. He worried she took the silence the wrong way.
The water was just ahead. Picking up his pace he trotted over to the bank of the stream and fully dunked his muzzle into the cool sparkling water. Opening and closing it he washed out the grime of sand until he could press teeth together and no longer feel grit. Pulling his head back he lapped at the water for a drink, washing down the rest in his throat before he looked to her. Water heavily dripped from his muzzle "Yeah.." he replied a little hoarsely.

Hallie smiled at the male. “ I’m glad. ” He had to stop herself from laughing at how cute he looked, muzzle soaked and dripping with water. She didn’t want to upset him or give him the wrong idea. Taking a moment she stepped closer to the water and drank, lapping up the cool liquid quickly.
Once she was done she straightened and stretched her back before looking around. “ Oh! Kyo look. ” She stepped away from the water now and moved towards a small bush covered in what looked like little bunches of tiny blackish purple balls. “ I love these, have you ever tried them? ” She glanced at him a moment before looking back and the bush. Leaning her head forwards she took out between her teeth and pulled it free before chewing it. It was a moment but slowly a smile formed. “ They are, they are what I though. Come here, try one Kyo. ”
