She turned her head enough to hide her face in her mane. She had been raised with better manners and here she had conversed with a stallion and didn't even know his name. How foolish of her.
She cleared her throat, "Uh... V-Vidia. I don't think I caught yours."
[-Yep. Read over the roleplay again and edited my previous post just to remove his name. X-D-]

Althalus offered Vidia a great bow, pleased that she seemed to be perking up. The poor mare needed a heavy dose of confidence, and he could only hope that she didn't take that blasted wind to heart; she was just as precious a mare as any out there~! Wings didn't make one greater than another, certainly not, but hopefully with time the lovely Vidia would come to realize such a thing.
And might that conceited, feather-brained bigot of a stallion have his jaws sewn shut for spreading such cruel lies.
"Tis a pleasure to meet you, m'lady Vidia," he spoke true before rising, silver eyes sparkling with good humor and mischief. "I''m Althalus, and if I may, a mare such of yourself surely needs to find more reasons to smile. Breathtaking in beauty as you are now, I think if you could but be shroud in joy that perhaps you truly would shine." And oh didn't he mean it!
The sunset male wasted no breath with his compliments; he found every mare to be something crafted out of beauty and something he was quite unworthy of. Wings, fins, horns or grounded, a mare was a mare and that was someting to be respected and adored.

Althalus. She was thankful that her face was hidden from view behind the long length as another blush was right on the tail of the last one. "You-you flatter me with your k-kind words."
She didn't have the courage to show her face to him, waiting for the pleased embarrassment to fade away before she'd even think of raising her head and tossing her mane away. She just wasn't used to hearing such praises outside of her family.
It wasn't that it had been rare for the flowery speech, but she had always considered herself quite plain compared to her sister. Oh, she loved 'Suli dearly, but to have been blessed with wings, to be set a step above everyone else and be noticed because of those wings--it was the only thing she had been jealous that her sister had.
"I-I feel you give me t-too much honor." There was a familiar sound in the air, like a screech of a falcon, but she didn't hear it. It was like the blood was boiling in her ears even.
[-And brain is going pop-pop.-]

Althalus couldn't help but give a soft snort and offer the mare another smile. He shook his head, ridding his silver gaze of his hair and also denying the mares words! "Flatter you~! You break my heart by saying such a thing," he objected gently, silver eyes sparkling. "I am not the sort of stallion that would be so insincere and beguiling; I would not say such things if they were not true, m'dear. When I say I see beauty and yearn to see you smile, I say such a thing from the heart." And though his words were gentle, so as not to scare or upset the mare further, he was completely honest. He wasn't the sort to say such words under false pretense; he meant them, every word.
"I have given you nothing more than I would any other soul as yourself," he added with a chuckle. "You may feel I am giving you too much honor, but I fear I am not offering enough. If you would just see what I see and what I'm sure the world might see, outside of that blasted wind," he grimaced slightly, obviously irritated just to mention the stallion, "than you might truly see your worth."
And such a thing was true.
As far as Althalus were concerned, Vidia was indeed a beauty and like many other a mare, completely and utterly above him. She was a thing to be praised, to be worshiped and her every whim and delight tended to. If other stallions couldn't see such a thing, couldn't appreciate her, than they were the ones undeserving and unlucky. Oh, how he wished he could find that wind and give him a piece of his mind. . . and hooves.

She had been watching him closely to make sure there wasn't an ounce of trickery in his words and was quite shocked to see that he believed everything he said. There were no falsehoods about this stallion. Oh, her heart was racing like she'd just done a mile at top speed.
The screeching sounded again and she happened to look up and notice a very familiar bird circling. She frowned, knowing exactly why Omani'ceta was here. As she brought her gaze back down, the smile returned, sparkling brightly in her cyan eyes. "Well, Althalus. Perhaps I'll try out your philosophy you've shared with me. May I," she paused and lowered her head down meekly as she scratched a dark hoof over the ground, "see you again?"

((Call it a wrap?))
The stallion gave a low chuckle and nod, pawing at the ground as if to stamp his approval. "I'm quite sure that our paths shall cross once again, m'dear; but all I can hope is that you forget about what that wind said and take kinder words to warm your heart." Althalus couldn't hear her racing heart, and even if he had he surely wouldn't have understood why.
Ah, but such was his foolishness and such was her own; it didn't occur to the stallion that his kindness would be taken too far. He truly did hope to cross paths with Vidia a second time, but he also understood that his hooves were itching to once again return to the road he wandered.
There was much to do, much to see, and if he dallied any longer he felt as if he might go crazy!
But he wouldn't forget the pale mare with the shadowed smile. He knew her scent, knew her name, and would serach for her upon his return to his homelands. For now, he needed to press onward. . . forever on the go, forever exploring without a care.
