Angel waited for the other horses to jump over the river. She tried to encouraged the foals to jump. After most of the horse were at the other side of the river she also jumped. A few mares and foals stayed behind. She told a big stallion were her hiding place was and asked him to go find another way so the mares and foals could also reach the place. After that she she continued to lead the way. Hoping the others would find their way to the hide out also.

The other mares and foals followed when they saw the other horses on the other side. Skyscremer followed Angel to the hide out.

StormChaser brought up the rear, herding the slower mares and foals. He was the last one to jump across the river. He stamped his hoof and looked about making sure all the mares and foals and everybody was there.

Angel let out a small sigh when she saw the cave, that had save her once before, appearing in the distance. She looked around, seeing that all the other horses were here too. She was so glad that they were safe now. But suddenly an awful thought crossed her mind. 'What if the humans found them again, how long would it take before they were in danger again?' She tried to get the thought from her mind, but it wasn't that easy. She still didn't understand how the humans were stronger and faster than horses. She waited in front of the cave for the other horse, especially the foals to get in first. She stood there watching all the horse, breathing heavy and all covered in sweat. The thought crossed her mind again.

Lyra galloped through the water and to the cave, following the herd. She joined Angel at the entrence watching the others and looking for her brother.
Lykan raced down the river bank and looked for a way to get the younger foals across. He herded the mares and their foals ahead of him toward a low place in the river. The water came mid way up the mares lower legs, and past the knees of the smallest foal. He nipped at a mare and foal that refused to cross, getting them moving. Flying across the river he ran the mares to the cave and stopped outside, looking for StormChaser.

Skyscreamer walked toward the entrance and also joined Angel and Lyra whom she hadn't seen in a while. "Welcome back Lyra" said Skyscreamer who was nuzzling her.

Lyra returned the nuzzle. "I haven't been gone all that long, Skyscreamer." She turned her attention to Angel who seemed to be lost in thought. She voiced her concern not careing if they were outgoing or things no one wanted to hear. "The humans will be back but when. How long do we have?" She lowered her voice so that only the two mares could here.

StormChaser trotted to the cave stopping to stand by Lykan. "How many other stallions are there besides us?"he asked snorting. He stomped his hoof looking around.

Lykan pawed the ground, "Only a few, three at most. But there are several more young ones who shall be stallions within the year." Haveing multiple stallions was good for protection but only if the group worked together, if one of the stallions decided to split off then some of the mares and foals would follow. The herd had banded together for protection and because there was no way for the different groups to all live in the protected area. All the mares had a stallion that they followed and it was only by working together that the stallions had been able to controll the herd. "Hopefully the younger ones will not challange us and create a problem. We have enough of a problem with the humans interfearing."

"I know Lyra but it seemed like forever" said Skyscremer. "Yes when are the humans coming" said Skyscremer who was looking at Angel.

Angel broke from her thoughts and looked at Skyscreamer. "I don't know, I can't smell them, so that means they're not close yet." she looked at the other horses again, they all seemed comfortable again. "I'm gonna take a look" She said after a moment of silence. Before the others could answer she had trotted towards the river again. She jumped over the river and continued her way back to the forest. She lifted her nose and breathed in the air, trying to catch the scent of humans. She didn't smell any human, she could only smell the trees in the forest. She decided to turn around and go back to the herd. Suddenly she felt an awful pain in her front leg, she fell to the ground. A human came walking out of the forest with a gun. Angel looked up at him with anger in her eyes, with her last strength she bit the human in the leg. She could see how the human walked away and disappeared in the forest, than everything went black.
