I'm a female Tuba player. Usually you don't see those two words together without a 'not' in the sentence. But I act a lot manlier than the other guys, haha!

I'm against it to. Everyone is allowed to do or say what they want as long as it is not insulting

In first band (where I play), there are only 4 female brass players. We have 7 in total... I think.
All our low brass are males. We have 3 Bass Clari girls, and all the flutes are girls. Bb Clari is mostly girls, with 3 boys. The saxophone section is the most mixed gender-wise, especially during marching season. neutral

It's not really a problem at my school. All of our sections are coed except for tuba, and that's because there's only one. I play flute, bass flute, and piccolo, and I don't get harassed about it. If someone wants to play a certain instrument, who am I to stop them?

omfg don't even get me started...
Mostly, at our school it's about flute/clarinet playing guys...
It's kinda funny because the majority of the trombonists at the high school and our school are chicks... ^.~

In marching band, there is one female sousa player and one male sousa player. Everyone thinks the girl is really cool, cause she's tiny and she marches really well.

7 male tubas... one female (aka me) I'm usually first chair and yet they still pick at me. Every single time a tuba messes up, all 7 of them turn towards me and start saying "Stop f***** up the band" " Just leave us alone!" and they say that i masturbate with my tuba... Its so retarded! I mean sure every one says theyre just jealous, but it hurts sometimes when you get shoved in your tuba case and dont get out for like 2 hours...
