Wes Welker, he's not really Underrated.

The man is the best 1st down receiver in the NFL.
But I'm kind of worried what he would look like w/o Moss there to have most the attention from the defense.
If Welker was covered by someone real, or even doubled, would he be as good?
Has he ever done a Hail Mary?
neutral

Welker was the best possession receiver in the NFL this season. He, himself, is not underrated, but his speed and importance to the Patriots were underrated. He can get you a first down in almost any situation, is a good blocker, and is deadly on screens and slants.

He is really good.
Led the league in receptions did he not?

Tied with Houshmandzadeh I think @ 112.

...But I think Welker was the receiver that led the league in receptions, because he pulled off a few trick run plays as well.

Typical athlete. Though he's quick enough (and I haven't seen his arm), he is too short to be a QB and too small to be a RB. He may be able to pooch punt though. razz

Well...

I'm a Giants fan for football, Yankees fan for baseball, Knicks fan (sadly) for basketball, and a fan of many teams for soccer. I occasionally like to watch other sports, + the Olympics and X-Games.

Soccer is my main sport, and I actually think I can go pretty far with it. I could play high school football if I wanted too, but it's annoying how it runs at the same time as soccer. I'm actually very good at basketball. I have a good arm and good fielding for baseball, but I'm not overall good at it. I used to run track, and I play tennis and lacrosse on the occasion. I also golf, and am like a master at ping pong and fooseball.

...What about you? razz

Yea, Wes Welker.
He is over looked by Randy Moss (Seriously, look how short he is lol), But he can get a first down in any situation as Dude-LAP said, and as you have seen in every game. But the reason he over looked is because Moss makes the Big plays that go for Big Gains.

Maybe this season he will be noticed a bit more?

Well the current best possession-receiver in the NFL deserves a lot of credit. So does Brady, for making the most of the talent of each of his receivers. Another bad move by the Dolphins to let him go last year...

Sidney Rice and Bobby Wade. If we had a quarterback worth a s**t....

Rice is good, and is young, but will become a very good receiver. Wade is decent, but he is a very good punt returner, but I don't see him prospering as a receiver.

Nothing against Wes Welker, I think he's the man when it comes to a first down.
But I think Hines Ward is a little better as a possession-receiver.
