Amon was laughing uncontrollably for so many reasons as he watched his mate dance around underfoot as he struggled to find a spot to land without crushing her in the process. His demeanor was pure, giddy, adrenaline-charged excitement at the familiar face, the scent of his mate! His landing was shakey at best, from the laughter as well as the lack of stability he already possessed. He was forced to do a bit of a jig midair to avoid her before his paws touched ground altogether, and then all bets were off. He just about tackled Mehal in a maneuver any football player would have been proud of. "MEHAL! Mehal you're HERE! Finally, you're home! MEHAL!" He couldn't stop saying her name at the point, the sound ringing in his ears gave him a jolt of energy every time.

Did he tackle her or did she tackle him? It didn't matter in the end, the result was the same. There they were, rolling about like two cubs in the snow, not one shred of dignity between them. Mehal couldn't have cared less. All was right with the world, she was with her mate again and she was home. Here was bliss and the peace that her wanderings had not afforded her. The sound of his mindvoice was a balm and she could listen to it forever.

She laughed and she cried, tussling, nuzzling, and just bathing in the simple joy of being reunited with her soul mate. She hadn't realized she'd been sundered, but once again, she was complete. As the initial fervor died down, she looked him striaght in the eyes, overflowing with love and adoration. I'm home, she said. Finally, I am home.

There was so much to be said and talked of. But that could wait. For now, those words embodied every loving sentiment that Mehal was capable of. Still, she couldn't resist a playful jab. Not your most graceful landing. But you definately get a 10 out 10 for enthusiasm. Not that I'm complaining either way. She punctuated that statement with tender nuzzle, letting her head come to rest on his shoulder.

Amon was out of breath by the time he'd stop rolling about, swearing that'd he'd clung to her tail for at least 5 minutes straight before even thinking of letting go. There was so many things he wanted to say, to ask her. The easiest to roll off the telepathic tongue would be a simple "Why did you leave?" but he knew his love for than anyone. She was called away by duty and by the simple draw of the wild. That part of her... he knew it'd been passed to at least one of his offspring. But he couldn't blame Mehal for the actions of their winged daughter. She'd been responsible for her own self for quite awhile now.

Letting his breaths subside, he sat there rumbling happily with Mehal's muzzle rubbing into his neck. "Sorry." He managed to slyly reply. "You didn't leave me much of a runway." He chuckled in that low tenor of a voice before softy falling silent, enjoying the moment for all it was worth.

She chuckled at that, glad to see that time apart had not drained him of his good humor. She knew she was lucky to have a companion who didn't blame her when the call of the wide open plains became to loud for her to ignore and she loved him all the more for it. It was a show of the level of trust between them, almost absolute.

With a prize like that waiting for me, how can I be blamed? The hyena gave a sigh of contentment savoring the moment alongside her mate. All too soon she knew the cold would creep its way into her bones and they'd be forced to move along, but for now it was perfect. Somethings are meant to be savored, others to be devoured with all due haste. Maybe she was hungrier than she thought. Edible metaphors didn't usually run to her tastes.

Slowly, and with great reluctance, she shifted to a sitting positon, still in close contact with Amon, her tail curled protectively around him. Mmm. Not yet. The Caverns could wait a little longer.

The tiger chuckled amusedly at her words as they sat in close proximity, taking her statement as innuendo at first seeing as on occasion, that was her preferred mehod of teasing. The longer they sat though, the more concerned he was that she really was hungry. "Are you cold?" He began slowly, not wanting to resort to sounding like a nagging worrywart. "You've been traveling long, come inside and lay by the fire with me?" Like a child he asked, as if he was afraid she would outright refuse and leave him there in the clearing all by himself again. She had to understand his concern. It was simple, she was the most important thing in his entire existence.

She was cold and she was hungry. However, his trepidation didn't go unnoticed. The horrid specter of guilt cast its' shadow over her happy reunion and she ducked her head, ashamed that she had left in such away as to cause Amon pain.

She hadn't meant it to be like that. In her mind, there was no doubt that she would return home, and most importantly, to him. But things seldom had a way of working out as intended. Given her two estranged sons, one rebelious daughter, and one on a quest to find herself, she should've been aware of this.

Shyly, she entwined her tail with his, gazed affectionately at him. Even such regrets were not enough to fully dampen her joy at meeting with her lover again. With you by my side, I would go anywhere. A quick lick accentuated this statement. And though you burn hot enough to melt all the ice and keep us in perpetual summertime, basking by the fire at home will be a muchly welcomed event. Pure innuendo and teasing this time, as no banthi could live on meat alone.
