The goddess's entire body was overcome with laughter, so much so that her plunged into the cool water as the laugh rippled through her body. How silly could this young one be? "You're quite amusing, small one," she murmured. And looked at the disappointed look on Antigone's face, "I'll make you a gem fish?" she offered, "what color would you like?" Boma thought about how much skill would need to go into such a creation she would need to be on land, but that wasn't an issue, she was about a foot away from the shore.
"When you are catching a fish it is important to dig your claws into its scales so that it cannot wriggle away," she offered her advice willing, wanting to help the development of a mortal, her own son could not starve but this one could, "If you just want to play and not eat the fish than don't use your claws." Shes stood up the water dripping off of her in rivets and stepped lightly onto the shore line in one long stride.
"Now, what do you say, do you want a gem fish?"

Antigone wanted to shout out loud in her frustration, but like most children anger was easily obliterated by gifts, especially of the interesting and new variety. She huffed, "I am not amusing, I am a cub and I'm learning, Mama says!" She barked and quickly went soft at the idea of a fish shaped gem. Something as hard as the thing on her leg and shaped like a scaly thing would be amazing.
"But wont that hurt the fish? I don't want it to be in pain before I eat it?" she inquired stalling to come up with a neat color, she sort of wanted a gem that was her color, but she was so many colors, was that possible? She did not know.
"Any color you want, my color?" She beamed excitedly, would the gem look like it had scales, she couldn't wait to show Jedi and Nasibu.

She help back her laughter at Antigone's statements, she was obviously unaware of just how cute and funny she was. "The point is to harm the fish, maybe your mother should be the one catching fish?" She murmured and then fell quiet.
Concentration silently on the earth Boma called different types of minerals to the surface, each one of a different color, each one of a different strength and luster. She closed her eyes and a small point of light appeared on the shoreline, heat caused by the coming together of all the tiny mineral particles. She pulled and pulled her body being to sway and her chest heaving. In time the shape of a crude fish started to appear. Boma opened her eyes slowly and looked down. The fish was the same color as Antigone's emerald greed markings.
"What do you think?" She panted unaware that at least fifteen minutes has passed since she said anything.

Antigone watched the goddess work in sheer amazement, how interesting that this god could do such a thing. Her eyes widened and she trotted forward wandering just what the point of light was and then again was amazed that the shape of a fish, and it had her color too! Wow!
"It's Amazing!" she exclaimed and moved forward very excited to bring the fish stone home to show everyone, what in the world could she use the fish for? The fish's size was close to the size of an adults paw, and would be a task for the little juvenile to get it home. "I can't wait to show Mama!"
Antigone looked up at Boma as she panted concern in her eyes, "are you sure you are alright?" she worried dearly for her new friend, what was happening, was she tired from using magic? Didn't she say all gods used magic, do they all get as winded as she was?

Boma continued to pant her chest heaving, it was a natural reaction personified by an unnatural being, she did not need to breath, but her body needed a way to tell her that this was an energy draining task and that she should rest so it caused her to pant.
"I am fine little lioness, why don't you hurry home to show your mother while I recover?" she thought of something to say quickly,"tell her a great goddess said there was no such things as monsters, and that goddess spent a lot of time in the dark." maybe Boma's words would mean something to the young lioness' mother.
"I think I'll finish my dip in the pool and then head on back home." She dismissed the little lady with a pat on the behind in the direction of where Boma assumed home was and slipped swiftly into the water to rest, her eyes already dropping, she was probably going to nap rather than clean herself.

Antigone felt slighted by the quick dismissal by the goddess but was so intrigued by the new gem that sat before her that she picked it up between her teeth gently and started to walk home, wondering why Boma was so tired, and a million questions ran through her head. She looked back to ask Boma is she was alright but found the large winged lioness to be snoozing her face inches from the water. Antigone thought it was an odd place to sleep, but in this heat it seemed likely that it was cooler.
"Alright, I'll tell her," Antigone muttered around the gem it coming out a jumbled mess of vowels and consonants and with that she scurried home, excited to show off her prize, and to say she had met a real monster that said monsters certainly did not exist!
