assignment log

She did not know how long she was going to be gone, but she knew where she was going. Shall had a duty to her lover to go to meet the remnants of his family, so she had to pack. The blonde daughter of Avallach packed more than just clothes; she also packed her white magic, healing and protecting. All that was left was to put a few books into her trunk and she would be prepared to leave.

As she reached up to pull a pale green book from the shelf, a black book higher on the shelf shook itself loose from its place tightly wedged into a row of ancient and valuable books. Normally, Avallach would have leapt to defend her, but Shall had a feeling that there was a reason that this particular book had fallen.

She just didn't think that it would involve striking her on her veiled head. Like the apples for which her home was named, Shall dropped like a rock.

Spirits from the world of Tison, entrusted with the bonding of souls, pulled Shall's from her body as well as removing said body. Their magic would not harm her seriously, and it was quickly fixing the bump on her head. It was just the job of these beings to get her bonded with the soul of the deity she was to care for and then leave her on the Samadueanna to be told of what her duty would be. The woman would be home in a jiff.

Just as it was usual procedure, while her soul was off being bonded to the god that she would guard, her body was placed on a bed inside the Samadueanna, a gold chain upon her neck that soon held a relic.

When her soul was returned to her body, the spirit of the messanger deity was placed within a relic around her neck and she was able to wake up. Next to her, calmly seated awaiting the woman's awakening, was a young girl with green skin and...six arms. Her leafy hair bore small golden blossoms, matching the hue of her soft eyes.

"A greehteehng morhtahl."

Shall sat up and looked at the girl. "Yes," she agreed. Her fingers brushed against the chain on her neck; since she never wore jewelry, she noticed it immediately. "What is this necklace?" She didn't ask where she was, she didn't even wonder. Obviously she wasn't at Avallach anymore, and nothing she did would change that, so why ask?

Feejhu smiled softly. "That is your relic. It houses the soul of a deity from a galaxy far from yours. In a few days time that relic shall become a child that you must care for. It will one day return to save it's homeworld."

"Ah." It wasn't quite the method of reproduction Lord Gabriel had explained to her. But it made sense- at least, to a girl who was born full-formed in a garden. "I do not comprehend," she said. "A galaxy? Is this like a town? Will this child leave Avallach, and never return?" Really, what she was asking was, will this child leave and never return to me. If she- she seemed likely, because she only ever saw women wearing shoes such as these- were to leave Shall, Shall wouldn't feel bad about leaving the child to grow up among the pages or squires.

Feejhu looked at the relic closely, trying to discern which deity it might be. That could give a hint as to what theyp of person they would be, if they woudl really leave. Recognizing it from her history lessons, she smiled slightly.

"No, I do not believe he will. He was one who needed a loving home and family." the girl said with a nod. "A galaxy is far away. A home is in a village. And villages are on continents. And continents are on planets. And planets are in galaxies. And galaxies are BIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGG. You have to fly around in ships to get here and there. You cant' just walk from galaxy to galaxy."

"Then I will love him," she said, assuming that the shoe- which was called a stiletto heel, if she remembered right- must mean a different thing in this different... galaxy. "Even if he is to leave my home in my village on the continent and the planet and go to another galaxy. If he comes home, he will be my son." And Lord Gabriel's also, she hoped.

"He will have to help here, but he will come home if you treat him well." Feejhu said with anod. "And now, if you will follow me, we shall send you home as well." And with that, the woman was taken to the transporter room, and sent home.

journal entry

One of the very few electronic devices Shall understood was a tape recorder, and that was because she could use it. So, when she had something to say, it was into the small black box.

It is February 13. I have heard tomorrow is a day of some importance to my people, so I have decided to also celebrate.

First I should tell you about the relic. I have recieved a necklace from a strange woman with many arms. She told me that it would become a reborn god. I believe her, if only because of the magic through which she returned me to Avallach.

Tonight I am going to tell Lord Gabriel about the child, who I have decided to name Ancelin. I hope he will recieve the news as a happiness, not an offense. I have chosen to remain chaste for a reason. One day we will have children of our own, but not today. It is not the proper time, for it is winter. Perhaps in spring.

I must prepare for Ancelin's arrival. He will have the room across the hall from my garden. It is now a store room, but it is large with windows and I am confident that Avallach and I may reform it in time.

roleplay

"Squire, would you please hand me those scrolls over there?"
A large hand was wrapped up in his red-brown locks as the Lord Gabriel examined the rolls of parchment before him with a large, clear flatstone that magnified the tiny script so as to be more easily read.
"Yes, my Lord," the young woman standing at the side of the desk stated with a quiet bow before stepping lively in order to get the pile of scrolls from the shelves across the room. The Lord was looking into the histories of Criosdail Castle and comparing them to those of Castle Avallach. One would think that neither castle would have much of a history, due to the guilds being so recent, however the castles had been around much longer than anyone expected and going through various owners over time...
"Here you are, your lordship," the squire known as Schuyler said as she placed the scrolls by his elbow. He nodded his thanks and she resumed her place beside the desk, quiet as a mouse.

Shall entered the room, not even noticing Schuyler. The young lady had become such a fixture around her Lord Gabriel that she only noticed when the squire wasn't there. She stood over Gabriel and looked on at what he was reading. "I have done my research," she announced, voice clear, "And I have come to the conclusion that I am pregnant. The books which I have read say I should inform those who mean much to me." She toyed with the new necklace with its stiletto relic attached.

Gabriel sighed as the Lady entered and looked up just as she had spoken, his face passing from one of passive exhaustion to one of alarm as quick as it took him to run his hand through his bi-coloured hair.
"Pardon me, milady?!" he asked, shock etched into the newly forming lines of his face. His mouth lay open in surprise as he attempted to string two words together that might be comprehensible to those that spoke the common language.
It was unspoken knowledge that the Lady Shall and the Lord Gabriel of Avallach had a romantic relationship, so the fact that she had claimed pregnancy was something that was bound to catch him off-guard; unless he had missed something, they had never done anything that would constitute that occurring.

She tilted her head a little to the side. "I have looked it up and the condition of expecting a child is referred to as pregnancy." Her expression was one of mild curiousity as she tried to understand the look on his face. He appeared confused, so she decided to tell him more about the strange encounter with the lady on the ship, and the magic which had taken her away and brought her back so quickly.
"I spoke to a woman with many arms who told me that I am to care for a little boy." Shall pointed to the necklace around her neck. "She told me that this relic will become a child. Therefore I am expecting. Am I not correct, Lord Gabriel?" She gently placed one of her pale hands on his shoulder.

He sighed, glad to know that something had not happened between her and another before gently patting the hand that was on his shoulder.
"Yes, milady, however, pregnancy is usually a term set aside for when you are expecting to give birth to a child through the normal means. By being pregnant, you mean to say that there is a child growing within your body and you shall latter push that child out of you, thus giving birth to him or her."

She had reassured him. That was good. Still... "What shall I say then? There is no one else to tell, but what if the child is not born by the time we go to Criosdail?" Shall frowned and flipped her hand over, holding his. "I think I shall name him Ancelin, Lord Gabriel. Do you think that is a good name?"

"Just say that you are expecting a child...if you want, you may explain to them the details or you can just state that you are adopting a child, which is in truth as well," he told her, taking her hand in his large one.
"And I believe that Ancelin would be a fine name as well, milady Shall."

Even in heels, Shall only had to lean over a little to touch her forehead to his shoulder. She pouted, but then smiled and kissed him shyly on the cheek. "I am glad that you are here, Lord Gabriel. I should otherwise set myself aflame on accident."

"I am sure that you would be fine if I were not around," Gabriel replied with a smile as he turned in his chair. Schuyler cleared her throat a bit, to which the Lord nodded and she took her leave, closing the door with a soft click.

baby finding roleplay

She pulled her white nightgown over her head; the lace trim brushed her delicate ankles. Her sheets were already pulled back, no doubt by the squire who tended to this room. Shall slipped in and tucked herself into her bed. Then, trusting there was nothing going to eat her in her sleep, she closed her eyes and went to sleep.

As she slept, her soul floated above her body, slowly becoming aware that something was amiss. In the air before her was a mystical door that the ghostly relic around her neck beckoned for her to enter. Looking down at her body, she could see that there was no way to re-enter her body, so foward was the only way to go.

So forward she went, for she knew that Avallach would not allow any harm to come to her while she was still there. And even if her mind was gone, she was still in Avallach, and thusly she was safe. Shall opened the door and stepped through it.

When she'd passed through the door, it vanished, leaving her in a strange place. A large courtyard with a stone statues upon pillars wrapped in vines. In the middle of the courtyard was a fountain and a bench on either side of it. Laying, stretched out, upon one of the flat stone benches, was a young man with large butterfly wings, and butterfly wing-like ribbons upon the backs of his stilletto heeled sandels. His hair was long and a helmet obscured all of his face, save for his mouth. He didn't seem to be breathing, yet still sleepign quite peacefully. The red line upon his back-visible through a slice through his robes-gave hint, however, that he was indeed dead. Still, the relic beckoned Shall to approach the body, to touch the young man's skin.

She didn't listen to it for a moment, closed her eyes. Was this how the child in her relic had died? It seemed strange, the thought that someone she knew- or would know, as it was- could die. Steeling herself, she walked to the young man and placed her hand on one side of his face. She was so small she barely had to bend her knees.

When her hand brushed against his skin, the body started to glow, becoming wholly made of light. The relic as well started to glow, and soon the energy shot from her neck and into the mass which had previously been a man. As the relic joined the figure, it started to react, shrinking in mass rapidly. Soon a much smaller sized being was on the bench and the glowing ceased, leaving a small baby boy with butterfly wings in it's wake.

Her reaction was instinctive. Shall reached down, picked him up (but was very careful of his wings). Then, gently, she ran her fingertips through his hair. "Ancelin," she said.

The baby cooed a bit and waved his hands at the door-which had just reappeared behind her. Now they could both pass through it and into their waiting bodies. They were now able to wake up and Shall could deal with her new child.
