Kairi didn't reply for a while, contemplating the question. Too be honest she hadn't payed much attention since it had been said that it might be the root of the problem giving the possibility of everything finally coming to an end. "I guess Earth is just different from any other world we've been too so we might have to learn a new way to fight...like in the pridelands or antlanitca.

Sora frowned. "I guess that makes sense," he said slowly, then shook his head. "But that was still fighting. The King made it sound like..." He trailed off, trying to find the right word for the impression he'd gotten, then sighed. "I'm just overtired. It's probably not a big deal." He shot her a sleepy imitation of his normal bright grin. "I mean, after what we've seen, there's a limit to just how weird it could be in comparison."

Kairi smiled. "Then you should go to bed. Tomorrow might be a bit rough."

((Oh, I forgot, Riku, I put you in Wonderland because no one was playing him at the moment, but you can make your way back to the castle before they leave, okay? Lol))
King Mickey sighed and sat back down in his throne. Maybe he was overreacting. Maybe they would adjust to it almost unconciously...after all, their hearts were all strong. They probably wouldn't take the new threat as anything at all.
But still, caution was necessary.
The King shook his head. He'd better get some rest, too. Hopefully Riku would get back in time to join them as well, though it might be a bit tougher for him to leave immediately after he returned.
Ah, well, for this particular trip, they needed as full a party as possible. And since Goofy and Donald were already incapacitated at the moment with an especially nasty flu, the group would already be somewhat crippled.
With those thoughts in his head, the mouse went off to bed.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Shidoosha Akiko returned to her Western-style home one Saturday from a particularly fun day of school. For once, her other three friends didn't accompany her, because tomorrow was a big day, as confirmed by her mother when she walked in the door.
"Akiko-chan!" Mrs. Shidoosha called cheerily from where she was sitting placidly in a chair. "You'd better hurry and finish your homework, because we're going to be very busy tomorrow!"
Akiko smiled. Yes, tomorrow she would be turning sixteen. And every year for her birthday, her mother planned something very special for her. This year she had a particular hope--and suspicion--as to what it would be.
"All right, Mom, I'll get to it right away," she assured.
---
Her homework didn't take too long, and she spent the rest of her evening with her usual pursuits: surfing the Internet, chatting with her friends on the phone, or trying to beat Kingdom Hearts 2 once again. And by the time she collapsed into her bed, Akiko was feeling very satisfied and excited for the next day's events.
Her dreams and plans were untainted by the knowledge of a certain black creature snooping around less than a block away...

Sora yawned. "'K. G'night!" He waved and walked off down an adjoining hallway to his room. When he came to the door, sleepy though he was, he couldn't help but check the crack under the neighboring door for light; there was nothing. Sora sighed. "Get your rear in gear, Riku," he muttered to his friend's door, then opened his own, slipped inside, and collapsed onto his bed without bothering to so much as remove his shoes.

Riku made his way through the darkened, silent halls of the palace, limping slightly. One of the card's spears had caught him just behind the knee; it was stupid, getting stabbed by a card, but no more stupid than the rest of the mess had been. His ears were still ringing with the Queen's cries of, "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!". He just hoped that Alice had gotten out alright. The important thing, of course, was that the door was shut, but-- his eyes darkened-- if he ever saw that cat again...
He was brought out of his thoughts with a bump as he realized that there were two people standing a ways in front of him; even as he watched, one of them waved and moved off down the hallway that led to Riku's room. He thought it had probably been Sora, but it was a bit dark to be able to tell for sure, even with the lamps. By that point, he was close enough to tell that the remaining person was... "Kairi," he said, his voice carrying reasonably well in the huge, marble hall, "What did I miss?"

Kairi turned abruptly at the sound of her friends voice. She smiled warmly hoping that her worry and spacing out wasn't as apparent to him as it was Sora. "We just met with the King...." She paused. "You're hurt." She said suddenly taking in his slight limp.

Riku just shrugged; he had no interest whatsoever in discussing what had happened. "It's not a big deal. What did the King have to say?" He raised and eyebrow as a sudden, unpleasant thought occurred to him. "It's not another world, is it? I just got back."

Kairi looked at him not wanting to drop the subject of his injury, but knew better than to pry too much. "There is another world. He said it might be the cause of everything. We're going to Earth, the new world, tomorrow. Would you at least make sure you're healed? I don't know how much more worrying I can handle." She eyed his leg and fought to keep the worry out of her voice and face.

Riku's expression softened. "I'll get Donald to Cure me first thing tomorrow." His eyes shifted, growing thoughtful and distant. "Earth, huh?" He was silent for a long moment, then focused on Kairi again, his eyes flicking searchingly over her features. Something like concern flashed briefly across his face, but when he spoke his tone was light. "Well, we should probably get some sleep; I know I need it."

She smiled at him again though she felt like it was more false this time. "Okay. I'll see you in the morning. Who knows maybe we can go home after this....." She trailed off having whispered the last sentence

Riku hesitated, on the verge of saying something else, then just nodded. "Goodnight, Kairi." He smiled slightly, then turned and headed off toward his room feeling oddly like something vital in his chest was being crushed. Kairi had looked so fragile he had been afraid she might shatter as he looked at her, but as usual he was sadly out of his depth with such situations. Maybe he could get Sora to ask tomorrow, he thought, glancing at his friend's darkened room before slipping into his own. The door shut behind him with a muffled click.

Kairi nodded in response before heading to bed herself though it wasn't as easy as she had thought to just drift to sleep. She tossed and turned for about a half hour, her mind to full to sleep. "I just have to stop thinking." She thought aggravated. She turned one last time closed her mind and at last fell asleep.

~the next day~
lol
The King rode in the gummi ship, on his way to Earth. At last, they were hopefully nearing the end of their struggle, and then maybe fate would leave him and the other keybladers alone for once.
But it would be a tough fight to get there...especially if the person behind this was who he thought it was.
~
Behind him, he had left a letter, to be delivered to Sora by one of the brooms. It read:
Sorry for the short notice, guys, but I just thought maybe it would be better if I went a little early...a few things happened and I thought it would be easier to kind of gradually ease our way in. So when you're ready, you can all take your own gummi ship to Earth...I've shown you where it is before. And then we'll meet up here...
There was a map and directions to meet up in a busy city in Japan. And a red circle designated a certain building: Square-Enix, it said.
