"I have seen many lash out at others violently out of fear. It is not such an uncommon thing i suppose. I do not quite understand why one would think that would solve anything though."
He tipped his head again and the tip of his tail twitched at his feet. "They could possibly think that so long as they make the mortals fear them, or so long as they are there treating them harshly, that they will forever be believed in? I am sure that if there had been attacks in the past on a pride by a God that they stories would get passed down. That would keep the belief in them alive and so they would in turn stay alive."
It was not something pretty to think about but it did make sense in a way. He would much rather have someone believe in him for his kindness and his mind rather than for fear of what he could do to them.

Mana narrowed her eyes in anger. Well, she could see how it would work. And it was sickening. Sometimes she wished that there was someone to stop their wicked ways, but Mkodi never interfered with anything, and so it would continue unless actions of many stood up to it. Too hard, though, for gods to be on friendly terms without other things entering their mind.
"A true system, and one that is how they probably make it work," she said softly. "Though it's certainly not something I agree with. Respect and kindness is what has kept me going since the beginning of time."

"I would not agree with it either. There are far better ways to keep belief in you alive than by forcing others to do so." He shook his head slightly and shifted a bit so he could sit more comfortably. It had been a while since he'd had a good conversation this long and he was enjoying it.
"One should always respect the wind." He nodded a bit. "Even though i do not let it control my life I do thank it for the rains it brings and the scents of meals far off."

Mana smiled warmly at his comment. Well, that was exactly what she wanted to hear! She sure hoped that she would get some respect, since she did her best to offer it right back to all of the mortals that she met. Respect was something that definately had to go both ways.
"Exactly," she said, echoing his comment. "As I do offer my respects to many. Though I will admit this has been quite a pleseant conversation, the first one in quite a while, I'd like to add, as well." She ruffled her feathers, feeling relaxed again. "I hope you don't take it offensively, but after my last conversation with a cheetah, it's a pleseant surprise."

"I don't generally like my own kind for a reason of conversation also." He grinned slightly as his tail moved a bit to swish in front of his legs. "Though ... we are not usually social with each other anyway."
He preferred the company of his avian friend and on occasion others who could offer good conversation. "I have enjoyed it as well. It is not often a lion cares for anything i have to say."

"Oh?" That was an interesting factor. She knew that cheetahs were solitary in hunting, at least, but if someone with a mind such as him didn't seem to socialize with his own kind much, then perhaps that could be taken into a factor of the species as a whole?
She was unsure, and was against making such radical assumptions, but it was certainly interesting. Though she was not racist at all, she just never seemed to be able to strike up a conversation with a cheetah that wasn't hostile towards her, with her form being that of a lion.
"Interesting to note, really, though I guess it shouldn't surprise me with your hunting habits." She smiled. "And I can admit, that lions are a bit racist at times, I'm afraid. I find it a pity, because you never know just what you might find if you only open your eyes a bit."

"I have not met many of my own kind but that is more my own fault i suppose. I generally find the conversation of my avian friend or others to be far more stimulating." He usually avoided lions as they were often hostile toward his kind and he had been granted a few rough experiences with them himself.
"I believe we are all a bit racist at times. Everyone makes an assumption based on past experiences even if they do not act on them. Learning from the past does wonders for keeping your future alive, so long as you learn the right things." He paused a moment to think before he spoke again. "I will admit to usually keeping a great distance between myself and lions." He grinned slightly sheepishly. "I am glad that i did not stick to that this time. I would have missed out on something worth doing had I done so."

Avian friend? Well, that was something that gave her much more respect for the cheetah. She loved birds, as most of them adored her. They were usually skittish, flighty, and sometimes hard to keep up with, so if he had a bird friend that he spoke to often, Mana could only offer respect.
"I think I must agree. While I hold nothing against cheetahs, I normally do not converse with them for too terribly long. So this has been a comforting change indeed."
Alright, she would ask, only because she was so curious. "So you have a friend that is a bird? I must say, that is music to my ears."

He grinned at the mention of Kas. "I do .... she's been with me since i was younger." He almost couldn't remember not having the little bird about. "I'm sure she's around somewhere...."
He got up so he could peer over the grass a bit. There were a few trees around and he hoped that if Kasida was among them that she would see him and recognize that he wasn't in any danger and so she wouldn't be either.
She was indeed close enough to see her friend stick his head out of the grass and with a soft chirp she headed in his direction. She was surprised to still see the winged lion about. Hopefully Zuma hadn't had trouble with the oddity.
Her feathers ruffled for a moment as she landed on his shoulder. "Get side tracked again? And you call me the featherbrain."

"Oh?" Even better! The lion-goddess would purr if she could, so pleased to hear this news. She hadn't had too many others deal with birds, and this gave her a hope that it could happen some day. More needed to learn the benefits of having birds as friends!
"A pity I don't have Kokia with me, I'm sure she'd be thrilled to hear of it. She's probably all busy playing with someone, somewhere."
She didn't notice the avian until it was nearly already here, taking notes on how the pretty bird landed right on his shoulder.
"Oh! Well, hello," she said, a greeting to start things off.

"You are a feather head." He nudged the bird with his nose and grinned. "Kasida this is ..... you know, i seem to have forgotten to ask for your name or introduce myself. All the conversation went right to my head"
He really should have known better than to do something like that. It was rude not to introduce yourself inf you were going to be taking with someone.
She clicked her beak at the cheetah before she turned to look at the still odd looking winged lioness. "Zumaradi has no manners despite how pretty he talks." She certain of that no matter how much he tried to convince her otherwise.

She offered a playful laugh. "No worries, I never actually asked you for your name, or even offered up my own! In the other realm I'm known as Wind, but in this realm I'm often called Mdhamana'kinyamkela, though Mana certainly works fine with me."
She let her tail play along in the grasses behind her, reshifting her wings. She offered a nod to the bird, as if understanding just what she meant. "Well, he certainly talks pretty, I can agree with that."

"Most don't bother to call me much more than Zuma." The rest of his name seemed to be a mouthfull for Kasida so he never bothered to correct her and others had shortened his name also. His name wasn't anywhere near the mouthful that hers was though.
"I don't talk pretty. I talk well." He nudged Kas again. She'd never taken those speaking lessons well. Drat her and her horrible grammar.
"Well, pretty, same difference." She smacked Zuma on the head lightly with a wing. He shouldn't be correcting her in front of others. IT was mean. He was going to make her look silly again.
"She knew what i was talking about." She waved a wing at Mana for emphasis

The goddess laughed. "Zuma it is, then. I'll make sure to remember that." She liked the exchange between the two. On the surface it could seem a little rough, but there also seemed to be a mutual understanding between the two of them, if you only looked to see it there.
"Well, you still could say pretty, it just wouldn't settle well with a male. I would term it proper." Another smile, a very light laugh escaping her mouth for a breath or two. "Though I have to admit, there are not many that speak with such smoothness as water anymore. It seems like it is a lost talent."
Hopefully his avian companion wouldn't take offence to it. She was used to talking to others who were very much more causal with their words.

"It is nice some times." She fluffed her wings and tilted her head to the side as she looked at the lioness. "He hates it when i let him ramble and just listen to him talk. Says i'm taking advantage of him for something to listen to."
After a moment she hopped off Zuma's shoulder and fluttered over to perch on the goddess. She leaned up and nipped at one of the lionesses ear cuffs carefully. "Don't tell him but i like listening to him talk."
"I don't think i've ever been compared to water before. Usually my kind is compared to the wind" He grinned as he settled back on his haunches now that he didn't have to worry about displacing Kasida.
"I do not believe i would be deserving to be called such things though. I lack the grace of the wind and it's ability to change where it wishes to go at a whim."
