I live in Ontario and its perfectly legal. The United States government is only showing immaturity by not allowing gay couples to marry. As a matter of fact, the US is far behind the rest of the world. THe US goes on and on about religion, but hell, IT'S LEGAL IN ISRAEL!!!
I've brought up the arguement before to my catholic school and i was surprised to hear how many people were for gay marriage. Love is love! Who should care but the people in love with eachother?
I like Hilary Clinton because she promises that gay couples will at least get the benefits, but she will leave the decision if gay marriage is legal to the actual states. I'm Canadian, but I'm a "democrat" and for Hilary. I'm just saying that...but Hilary was on the Ellen Degeneres Show and I'm so glad she supported Ellen and her fiance.
Hopefully gay marriage will be legal for Americans soon. Even though you get a bad rap from the government, I still love you all. Hopefull the US government will mature with in the next 5 years to realize religion shouldn't be apart of politics. It should be what the people need.
And sorry my wall of text. razz
So I hEaRd YoU aLl LoVe PiPlUpZ!!!! (I'm tired of mudkipz...they're so last generation)

yeah! i'm with you, cuz america says that there is a separation between church and state, so this just totally contradicts everything this country stands for! i mean, this country (i'm in the u.s.) was built in order to let people live as they want, and taking away the right to marry who the person is in love with is a perfect example of the hypocracy of this country! how dare they preach about this allegidly wonderful land but take away a simple right. and for those who believe homosexuality is a choice (which i'll never understand why they think someone would WANT the riducule), why should they get to CHOOSE their spouce but deny me that right? i am so moving to canada... or san fransisco or something. i hate where i am.

Love is love, no matter race nor gender. With that said I don't agree with the idea of gay "marriage". Before you start throwing tomatoes at me, let me explain. First, marriage is a religious institution, it SHOULD NOT be handled by the government. Church and State are very different establishments that should have never been intertwined.
Apart from religious reasons, the government has other interests for not allowing gay marriage. You have probably seen that many benefits come with getting married, etc. and thus, when it all comes down to it, it's all about money and not love.
My proposition is that gay marriage be separate from government, be separate from the idea of marriage because quite frankly, marriage sucks. In my opinion, civil unions are the way to go. Benefits can also be obtained with private companies, etc. Let them have marriage, we'll have something better. xd

There shouldn't be nothing wrong with what we do cause its our life and not theirs. We control who we love and what gender to love not them. The government just likes to control every single little thing, which is really wrong. For my friends at school they all know that I'm bi and they are fine with it and I wouldn't mind standing up to other people saying that I am bi and that I'm mostly into guys. There should be no problem in with your sexuality and they r just too blind to see it.
And yes I do agree with people saying that the United States is hooked onto religion but they will need to move on with other things as well.
And its legal in Israel? o.o
And when I can go to college and get lots of money saved up I'm moving to Canada away from this none sense or to another country... =/
(I hope my point made sense) ._.

I agree and disagree with EVERYONE to some extent.
Why marriage? why not just be happy with each other... ******** the money and stuff that you have to put into a marriage that 70% of the time (my own little stats blaugh ) does NOT work out and the only hard proof you get is two rings and a piece of useless papper? Does a piece of paper declare that you "officially" love each other... No, it says your too stupid to realise that love in unconditional and that if you think you "need" marriage to have love for another then your wasting you time looking for someone because your ownly digging yourself an early grave.
Why not take a month off work, go on a holiday someplace nice, Have a romantic time call it a honeymoon and be together no matter what the hell everyone else thinks
I'm not against marriage... But seriously.
Well that's my $0.02 worth.. sorry bout the swears.
biggrin <3 every single one of ya's wink
P.s. the US can go float! No offence to any on who lives there... But your government needs to take a hike! qote from presedent G.bush: I heards Rumors bouts me's on the internets"
