I don't vote, and the logic is really simple. In the end, when it comes to the presidency, it doesn't mater wat the people vote. it's the electoral college who makes the final decision. And I believe that if you do vote, you have no right to complain about how messed up of a job the canidate you helped to put in is doing. I, on the other hand, can complain all I want because I didn't do squat to help or hinder, because I know no matter who we elect, they;re politicians. They say one thing but in the end they act out of personal interest and ideas.

I think if the person someone voted for screws up they do have a right to complain. I mean, they're the ones that believed in the person and that person let them down. I think it's more the people who dont vote at all one way or the other that have no right to complain because they didnt want any say in the matter to begin with.

I hate the electoral college, I think it's an outdated method and needs to be changed. but that doesnt automatically mean that individual voting is futile. there have been instances in the past where a state previously for one side switched to the other, and that's ultimately because of it's voters.

I dont like the electoral college eather, as you know, calypsophia.

however, I still believe it is very important to vote. some of the electoral ppl will vote for what the people want. (though not many) and for that, I still choose to vote. especially this year. with bush out of the picture, our votes may actually be counted.............

heh, that's exactly what I was thinking smile

I can't really say who I'd vote for. I would not vote for Clinton because her morals and policies are way out of whack compared to what I like to see in a leader.

I don't really care for their party, even though I'm republican. I just want an honest, level-headed, constitution respecting candidate. Why is it that it is so hard to find conservative people here? All I ever see in most teens here, is the 'let's hop on the chuck wagon and vote for the most mainstream liberal'

And also, to those who won't vote: The right to vote was because of great men and women who died in battle. The least you can do is vote for a good leader! Shame on you for thinking it's unimportant!

the reason why I'm not is because as I understand it, you have to declare yourself for whatever party it is by registering in that party and I'm not a party person (no pun intended).

It depends on where you are.
I know several people that are republican but voted in the democratic primary to try to nominate the candidate they thought had the least chance of winning.

I wanted Giuliani to get the nomination, and considering McCain did get the party nomination one would think that Rudy could have been nominated even as a moderate republican. Damn you, Rudy, for dropping out before Super Tuesday!
But alas.
Maybe next time...

Anyhoo, I wish the primaries were held nation wide during the same week, if not on the same day.
If we can survive holding the general elections on one day, surely we could survive the primaries. I hate that so many people drop out when there's still a month and a half of primaries left.
It ain't right.

I am willing to accept you're veiws, so long as I am assured of one thing: Do you watch other news programs besides Fox News. If so, I'm good. If not, i have trouble.... (fox news is a fully one sided network, fully conservative. particularly bill o'reiley, the most delusional, loud mouthed man on telivision)

its not like that at all, for me. aint no bandwagon 4 me. i just like a candidate who will watch out for the ppl, not just the rich ppl. and i am against war.

I personally believe that john edwards would have done the best job, myself, and i think obama really is the second best man for the job. NOT hillary. DEFINATLY NOT Mccain!!!

but for some of us, you need to realize, you are looking at a generation who has had to grow up under George W Bush as president( he first ran in my 6th grade year). He has given a REALLY bad name to the republican party, for us, and so it has spawned many liberals and democrats......

and i agree we need to vote. even though our votes are not always used by the deligates, they are occasionally, and so it is the first, easiest thing we can do to make the choice.

I agree that Hillary is not leader material. I know that Bush gave Republicans a bad name, however that does not justify Republican bashing in general. I have nothing against liberals or Democrats (my good friends happen to be liberals), but I question their views on many controversial things.

Per say, gun rights. I believe that it's the person, not the gun that is dangerous (in and of it self, of course. A gun is only dangerous if not handled properly.). What I see from many politicians is "It is the gun, not the people. Take away the right from everyone." If I may say so myself, I would rather have a President who enforces our laws. I refuse to let ourselves be a "let yourself in and leech all our resources with total disregard to our laws" type of country.

I listen to more liberal stations too, and even then, I get the same impression: These candidates don't give a crap about this nation. They'd just love to see us with higher taxes, overpopulated cities (therefore, more dependent) due to crappy immigration enforcement, and defenseless citizens who'll get shot down by the dozens because eligible people can't get guns.

So, my friends. Here is the moral of the story: Most of us don't like any of 'em. But you'll have to pick the lesser of three evils. twisted

And yes, I watch programs other than Fox news. (CNN, NBC, MSNBC, and KFMB)

I would vote for McCain.

Here's why:
-First of all, I'll admit to being racist, so bye-bye Obama.
-Second of all, although I am sexist against men, I don't like Hilary's idea of pulling out of Iraq
-Third of all, McCain is staying in Iraq
-McCain is a republican

I'm choosing not to vote...ever. In my opinion, all politicians are liars and can never keep up all their promises. So, I've decided I won't take part in voting because I'd rather not be responsible for voting a liar into office to run our country.

that can go the opposite direction as well. Dont go complaining about those in office if you were not willing to vote against them.

You are being way too biased. Has the public school system personally brainwashed you?

I don't like any of the candidates this year. I don't see what "change" Obama will bring, I never liked Hillary when she was the First Lady. I'm voting for McCain. He knows what its like to be in times of war, so he's not going to just pull out of Iraq. Besides that he's a Republican. I myself am not for any paritcular party, but it seems as if the Democrats want to be too lenient with illegals, and I'm sorry but paying for someone who doesn't pay taxes (medical, school, living assistance) is just wrong. So, I will vote for anyone who opposes them.

I voted for Obama. He wants to push for diplomacy, which I believe in. Bombing Iraq was a terrible idea. I know we're in there now, and getting out is almost a pipe dream, but if we can start working things out with the people, then we can start paving the way to getting our boys back home.
Also, Bush has pretty effectively alienated our allies. We need someone who will help rebuild some of those bridges Bush burned. (heh... bush burned)
As Teddy Roosevelt said; "Speak softly and carry a big stick."

I just believe in a lot of the same things as Obama.
