Bloogonis The DC raid had a great flag. but I think there should be one Gaia specific. It should have something to represent Gaia along with the Anon suite. I think it would make this, the Gaia chapter of Chanology, that much more credible. I don't see a huge need for credibility here. Those who need to find us can find us, but we're not going to advertise our presence all over the place. Plus, having the logo of a "children's" website could detract from the overall credibility of a raid.

its still a webcommunity with over a hundred thousand members. and it is a webcommunity with a Co$ presence. granted the Co$ guild is dead at the moment but the youthful minds of Gaia are ripe with young adults looking to find themselves, and those are the very individuals cults like scientology pray on.
many of the online groups that make up the chanology have reputations that are not very family friendly but this is bigger than just those few webcommunities. this is about free speach and Internet unity. plus this is not just a kids site anymore it holds to its origins pretty well but many of the early members are in college now and quite a few still visit. if not take an active roll in the majority of the the Gaia activities.

You may be right. I would refrain from that level of Gaia-Chanology association at the moment, however.

I think we shouldn't disassociate Gaia from Anonymous. We don't want to have people start putting their internet allegences before being Anonymous. Anon comes first and that's the banner we fly.
Besides, flying Gaia banners means there's a better chance at people putting your pictures to avatars/IP addresses here. It's really not hard to find the Gaians supporting Chanology. True Anonymity is our protection. We're not from anywhere, we're just the Internet.

Having a Gaia banner could break up the delicate connection between us and other Anons who dislike Gaia... Anonymous must always come first, especially in our situation. It would be like the furry protesters, who have allied themselves with us for the moment, having a flag that said "FURRY ANONS AGAINST THE CO$" or something. That would create an unacceptable level of tension in the ranks. We've got to stay simply Anonymous for the moment and not let other connections get in the way.

If anyone hasn't seen the DC flag, it's in my sig. I personally think that the flag is perfect as-is. As others have said, most of Anon hates Gaia. It's unfortunate, but it's the truth. There is a strong prejudice against Gaia. Right now, we need to focus on fighting the Co$, not on improving chan-Gaia relations.
I like to think of it as being similar to Americans claiming to be Canadian when they travel abroad, to avoid the massive anti-USA sentiment that many countries have right now. XD
We can focus on improving Gaia's rep on the internet later. Right now, we jjust don't have the time, and there are more important things to focus on. Besides, when we're out protesting, we aren't Gaians. We are simply Anonymous.

I am going to take down the Question mark flag and put it up at my mum's and put the green one p at my dads on the 50 ft. flagpole! =^.^=
