Destinykeeper I know we're not supposed to do religious parodies on Christianity, but this page, which I don't have the link for xd , almost made me fall off my chair. Google Search: The Brick testament. You know you have it when you see LEGO characters. I didn't say you're not allowed to. I merely said Christian paradies are overdone. The website for that LEGO thing is http://www.thebricktestament.com/The guy who made that site also has three or four books out now, each with different stories off the website. mrgreen

Do you guys know Jack Chick? That guy that draws comics for people to spread Christianity? On this site you can find some of his works Jack ChickThey are mostly just ridiculous and pathetic. But the bad thing is, he might really believe in the messages he wants to spread with them. And unfortunately there seem to be people that believe in them, too. For me his comics just seem like big, sick jokes. Nothing more. Have a look and tell me what you think.

xd "Learn of rock's ancient Druid origins..." I find that line very amusing. It's supposed to be about rock music, but... lol
As for the comics etc... Well, it would be hysterical if it wasn't so terrifying. These stories are teaching people to be threatened by non Christians. I have no problem with Christianity itself; really. I just can't stand the people that are depicted in those stories - because they try and shove it down your throat, whether you want it or not. It's as bad as the things it mentions in there, about kids having homosexuality and witchcraft etc. shoved down their throats...
And the guy got the facts about Paganism ALL wrong.

I haven't seen very many jokes about Unitarians, except a few on The Simpsons.

chaoticpuppet I think Jack Chick is actually serious. This would be terrible. Some of his comics are just twisted and sick. They spread intolerance and close-mindness rather than Christianity. I can't believe that people do take him serious.

Kalorn SyphaBelnades I haven't seen very many jokes about Unitarians, except a few on The Simpsons. what jokes have you seen in the Simpsons about Unitarians? Let's see, In the episode where Homer becomes a missionary one of the islanders asks him how they can tell which religion is the correct one and he responds "Well its certainly not the Unitarians" In another episode the Simpsons go to a church picnic or something, and Lovejoy is handing out ice cream in "religious flavors" and the Unitarian flavor is an empty bowl. There have been other jokes, too, but I can't think of them offhand.

Quote: "Anyone who takes himself too seriously always runs the risk of looking ridiculous; anyone who can consistently laugh at himself does not." -Vaclav Havel "We should be proud of who we are. Then we can laugh at ourselves. Being natural, being yourself goes right to the heart of humor." -Willard Scott "The person who has a sense of humor is not just more relaxed in the face of a potentially stressful situation, but is more flexible in his approach." -John Morreall I agree heavily with these qoutes, granted I will laugh at anything no matter how wrong it may be, but I do know when to draw the line. Coincidentally that time is after the torches are lit. xd

Has anyone here read "Lamb?" It's the gospel according to Biff, Jesus's childhoor friend, who the angel Raziel raises from death in the 20th century to rewrite the Bible....It is VERY FUNNY. And, if you are christian and can't handle a bit of humor, I would not read it... I personally highly respect the Christian faith and I personnaly believe in the teaching of Jesus. However, I very much enjoyed this book which explores the life of Jesus in his teen years...But seriously, think before reaking it. I'm sure it's on the banned book list...
(note: this a repost from the "Flamed for posting about Jesus??" thread.)

Mormons!" and "Bed, Bath, and Baha'i" are the only ones I remember, but then again the mormon one is simple, and I am a Baha'i. There was another reference to the Baha'i Faith, in the one where Bart is staying with Flanders, and they're playing that converion video game...I forget what they say though...If anyone knows, please tell me!
