What is even worse, a following pitch involved an alien coming down from above to offer mankind cures to all diseases, and a redneck with a gun and a hound shoots the alien, saying, "We don't need no socialistic medicine!" This is from a guy who is a self-confessed liberal and baby boomer...he said, "This is kinda racist, maybe I should come up with another idea" and the teacher (also lib baby boomer but older) said "No, no! A little political commentary there, eh? We all like to make fun of rednecks, don't we?" The class was quiet.

Intuet It's ridiculous to make girls feel bad because they are not captains of industries, movers and shakers, in all the male fields. I thought it was that girls felt bad because they aren't as big around as toothpicks *except for the chest, which "should" be like bowling balls* and not wearing so much makeup that they look like bulldozed clowns. I'm sorry, I know you're talking about the libs and I'm more or less on Hollywood, and you are very much correct and I agree with you, but I suh-WEAR I've heard more of this than any drive for a JOB. Possibly due to that most girls I know don't even want a somewhat stable job (wait, our economy, never mind the "somewhat stable" part). I don't know why the ones I'm surrounded by would be so upset over that they're not running big industries, especially considering that lately: A good future < BOYZ!!MAKEUPOMG!!!!! *facepalms* Okay, so maybe I need to talk to more people...

Nono, you're right, of course - I am thinking of that smaller subset of college-educated girls who get persuaded by feminist women who usually have husbands, children, and teaching jobs that somehow it's bad to want to be a wife and a mother and/or devote your life to something traditionally womanly like teaching kids. God, I wish those women had never been in my life.
hee hee, bulldozed clowns...yes, that much larger group of twits will always be with us. I imagine a stone age dialog between the intelligent girl and the uh, live-for-the-moment girl went like this:
"Look, these rocks are all broken, but we can cut things with the shiny edge. Like my hair. It needs a trim."
"Illa, do you realize what you've discovered? Stone knives! We can make tools out of these rocks and the other tribes wouldn't know the secret. Our tribe would gain respect. WE would gain respect. We could - "
"Um, that's really nice, but I'm busy tonight. I plan to flash my buttocks at Brand cos he likes it like that."
"Oh, you and boys. Forget them, let's think of the future!"
"But, Minda, I aaaam."
Later Illa gives the obsidian knife to Brand, who recognizes its potential and gets the credit for inventing it, while Minda, poor soul, is shunted aside. Illa has a passel of children and teaches them dumb is the way to go, as she has achieved wealth by letting Brand earn it for them both with his invention. Dumbness spreads and intelligence is left behind.

Oh, boy, I'm just going to strike on through every point. I agree with a few.
Men and women are not equal: agreed
Killing the environment: Yes, actually, we are. I like nature, and I don't think puking toxins into the air and water helps.
Neo-darwinism: What? Well, I think evolution via natural selection is a credible theory. But what do you think neo-darwinism is?
Gay marriage: Who does it hurt? Besides a bunch of religious people who think their religious beliefs should dictate how things work, that is. And we, a secular country, generally don't want to let religion discriminate in the law.
As for sex before marriage, please cite studies. There are plenty of instances when it doesn't harm. Hell, rape is sex before marriage- what do they count? Rape? One-night stands? Or do they actually count the sex-before-marriage where two unmarried people who love each other and are long-term have sex? Marriage is a superficial ceremony that changes how your taxes work. How does it make sex any better?
Affirmative action: I think it IS racist. I'm not sure I deciphered your opinion on it correctly... do you think it is racist?
