"I never saw a problem being a Hufflepuff. Better than Sly..."
Sirius trailed off when he noticed Marketa's face change expression. His eyes widened and he began to turn around, but he was soon giving his favorite werewolf an uninvited piggy back ride.
Sirius twirled Moony in a circle, and finally dislodged him from his vertebrae.
"Moony!" Sirius exclaimed, enveloping Remus Lupin in a brotherly embrace.

Remus fell on the floor of the train and picked himself up, laughing as he embraced Sirius. "It has been a long summer indeed if you didn't see that coming Padfoot! How was summer at the Potters' place? Get into any shenanigans without me?" He grinned and nodded awkwardly at Marketa, not recognizing her.
Marketa fought back a laugh and smiled at the boys' antics. Only the best of friends would be completely confident to hug in public and not worry if people made assumptions or not.

Sirius coughed and gestured at the girl standing beside him. "Nice trick, Rem-ol-pal. Outwitted me again. I don't know if you've met Marketa before... she's in our year. Marketa, this is Remus Lupin." Sirius gave a tacky bow in mockery of his family and continued in an undertone, "Shenanigans, Moony, shall be discussed at a later time."
Sirius coughed nervously and shot Remus a grin.

Remus winked mischievously at Sirius out of the corner of his eye before turning to Marketa. "Very nice to meet you Marketa, the name's Remus Lupin." He really couldn't wait to hear about the shananigans. They usually involved someone getting drunk and falling from some sort of high altitude.
"Hyello Remus Lupin, Marketa Prochazka," Marketa said warmly, shaking Remus's hand.

Sirius was pleased at Remus's reaction to Marketa, and knew that they would be up for some serious storytelling that night.
After a moment, Sirius raised an eyebrow jokingly and said, "Watch out, Moony. I dunno if I like you getting too close to my new favorite gal..."

Remus raised a joking eyebrow and slid sideways until he was about half an inch away from Marketa. He waggled his eyebrows playfully. "At least I'm not touching her," he said with a shrug.
"Favorite gerl?" Marketa said uncertainly, a small blush accompanying a suddenly shy glance to the feet.

Sirius grinned. "I don't like your lip, Remus John Lupin. I saw you trying to hold her hand."
He fake pouted and turned to Marketa, donning a look of feigned angst. "Of course," he said to the blushing girl.

Remus laughed openly. "That was a friendly gesture Pads! That is what we civilized human beings call a handshake! See?" He grabbed Sirius's hand and shook it in all directions. "HELLO. WELCOME TO OUR PLANET. DO YOU SPEAK THE QUEEN'S ENGLISH?" he spoke in a loud clear voice, as if he had been speaking to a deaf person.
Marketa laughed in an embarrassingly high-pitched way that was natural to her and she hated. "You are silly boys. I tink I am just going to sit over here quietly for a bit." Still trying to stem the flow of her laughter, she sat against the window and took out a book. As she opened it, a small square photograph fell out, unnoticed by Marketa. The occupants of the photo, Marketa holding tiny Yvonne, scrambled around the photo trying to keep balanced. The photo finally came to rest facedown on the floor.

Sirius head felt scrambled. " 'Friendly gesture'. Pshaw," He mumbled jokingly. "Now you're trying to hold my hand!"
"Man, does this boy have some hormonal issues," he said to Marketa, whom he didn't notice had left. He quieted down before noticing a tiny slip of paper float to the floor from her book.
He thought that it might be an intrusion of privacy to take a look at it, so instead picked it up from its face down position and handed it to the oblivious Marketa without glancing at it.
"May I ask..." he whispered, kneeling down.

Remus chuckled and shook his head. "You're hopeless Padfoot."
Marketa looked up from her book and, realizing what Sirius was holding, went slightly pale as she tried to remember what was in the picture. Satisfied that they wouldn't figure anything out (and if they did she would just quietly excuse herself), and smiled. "It's just a picture, you can look if you'd like." Maybe she wouldn't have to lie, maybe Sirius would just say 'hey, is this your sister?' and she could just not disagree or something.

Sirius's brow furrowed as he looked at the picture. For some reason, something about it reminded him of possible rumors and/or reasons why he could not recall seeing her last year. Sirius truly was not as dumb as many thought.
"The kid is cute, Marketa." He picked his words carefully, noticing her slightly sick look...

Markekta kept her eyes downcast, feeling Sirius's eyes on her. "Tanks Sirius. She's a very good gerl." Oh no, he knows! He knows and he's gonna think you're a slut and he'll never want to have anything to do with you! she thought sadly.

"Sister... or? Do you mind me asking?" He continued to look at the photo, noticing the wonderful relationship between the two.
The child, the girl, was amazingly pretty for an infant. Sirius liked kids, but he could definately admit that infants were funny-looking.
He chuckled. Despite his love for kids, he'd probably never be a father. Maybe a godfather, instead. He thought, turning his attention back toward the photo.

Marketa scratched the back of her head nervously. Maybe she could be honest about one thing, but lie about another? "Well...sister is what I tell everybobdy!" She smiled weakly, trying to pass it as a joke. He would not fall for it, he was one of the smartest boys in Hogwarts. He sees right through me, she thought anxiously.

So THAT was the rumor about the mystery girl Sirius thought to himself. It didn't make any difference to him. Sometimes bad things happened to good people.
He could tell that she was getting defensive, he better drop the subject before she got offended... "I see," Sirius joked, keeping the mood light. He straightened up and handed the photograph back to her. "She's beautiful, anyway."
