hahaha, polka. so you'll do waltzes?
unfortunately, i haven't had time to get into new bands lately. too much schoolwork. unless you count listening to tchaikovsky's "festival overture, 1812" in social studies as new music.
but i have to throw gravy train!!!! out there. although they're a rap group, not rock, their songs are really really fun and danceable. they make me happy. how can you not love a band whose songs start with things like "well i wanna get in the whole world's pants"? and there's two girls in the band.

At the moment.. I like Bratmobile, and The Donnas.
I know that The Donnas are not 'Riot Grrl'. I don't much care for their newer stuff, but their first CDs were really good.

Since I last posted, I've been listening to alot of Anti-Product and A//Political. They're both quite good, if you like Aus Rotten you'd probably like Anti-Product.

I don't suppose anyone here has heard of Go Betty Go or Pretty In Stereo?
I'm not totally sure EITHER of them can be considered riot grrl, but they both have a punk-pop sound going.
Other bands I like that happen to be fronted by girls: Le Tigre, Hole, Blondie, Bikini Kill, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Damone...at least, that's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Tanks!Tanks!Tanks! Since I last posted, I've been listening to alot of Anti-Product and A//Political. They're both quite good, if you like Aus Rotten you'd probably like Anti-Product. whoa, I saw your siggy and really, truely, honestly this was me eek I love riot folk!! Ahem...back on track, I've been listening to a lot of spoken word recently, and Alix Olson has been getting my attention, and Dr. Madalyn Hatter...both are slam poets. b***h and Animal isn't punk...but are definatly feminist, I don't agree in their support of Michfest completely, but I respect their decision. Michfest is something I am kinda iffy about. That's a different story which will be saved for another thread or something (that is if anybody knows what Michfest is). The Butchies are alright but are too commercialized, and dull. There were a few local bands, but to keep my location unknown I'd rather not say the band names.

gettin_edgy I don't suppose anyone here has heard of Go Betty Go or Pretty In Stereo? I like a few Go Betty Go songs, and listening to their music I would be confident in saying they are riot grrls.
Lately I listen to a lot of Miss Violetta Beauregarde. Overall Liliput, originally known as Kleenex is my favourite girl band.
