Hael resisted the urge to purr in a most unbusinesslike fashion as Kalan leaned in with interest towards the platter, unknowingly licking his lips. He averted his eyes to keep the blush from creeping into his cheeks, focusing his eyes on his cup of coffee.
"Um...It's an assortment. Even I do not know the names of them all, but I have plans to bring a botanist into my clann eventually, I'll be sure to alert you when the time comes, if you're interested..."
He did not mention how; it was obvious that he would be keeping tabs on the youth. Hael felt uncomfortable for a moment and shifted on his seat, his left hand idly scratching under the thick leather armor covering the right side of his chest. Andrika fussed over something in the back of the yurt, her soft shuffling filling the momentary silence. Hael cleared his throat, then motioned to the servant. Andrika hurried over, inclining her head, awaiting instruction.
"Will you be staying with us for the evening, Kalan? Andrika will not mind arranging a tent for your use, and we can outfit you in the morning as well. I'm sure you would appreciate a porcelain jar of coffee to take with you, and she can wrap some fruit and meat in parchment for you as well. I would like to show my gratitude for you coming to me with this item. I've learned that part of being a good business partner, is being a generous host. Please feel free to ask for anything you require, and we will do our best to accomodate you."
His smile was genuine, as he rose from his seat.
"While you make up your mind, I can give you the grand tour of the camp, please..."
He gestured for Kalan to rise as well, placing his fingertips ever so lightly against the youth's lower back, leading him out the door into the heart fo the camp.

Kalan chuckled just a little at the offer. It would be interesting to hear what all these strange fruits were but at the same time, considering his profession, it would not be one of the more useful things that he could be informed of.
"Thank you Haeldril.. I would very much appreciate that." He laughed softly as he broke into the white seed laden innards of the dragon fruit, sampling the sweet flesh rather delicately.
"Perhaps the next time we cross paths you will have managed to acquire yourself a capable being to undertake this task.. It looks like you have such a variety to identify! I hope that you'd share and secrets they may uncover!" His smile widened that little bit more, the youth even going so far as to wink impishly at his elder, "You know, possibly uncovering a rare strength enhancing fruit.. I'm sure that that would go down well indeed, wouldn't you say?" He took another small mouthful of the dragon fruit before pausing once again, "Oh.. That's right.."
He looked to the fruit then down to the small satchel he had been carrying, "I'm not sure if you would be interested in these too, Haeldril, but.. I came across a small clutch of dragon eggs. Not large enough to be a full fledged surface dragon but a smaller variety.. Draconic none the less if you would be interested in them. Seeing as we do seem to be setting up fairly exclusive trading rights.." He arched a pale eyebrow fractionally at that, lifting his eyes to find that they had company once again, the fact causing him to startle a little. He either really wasn't in best form today or Haeldrils.. Servant was she..? Well that or she was really something else to keep slipping under his senses..
He looked to Haeldrils handsome face again briefly to see if he could detect any interest whatsoever in the eggs, only to find that it was on to another matter, he was being ushered up and out.
Obediently he rose to his feet, his eyes still on the older male.. He had quite the nice features, he eventually had to reason with himself. Despite the occasional slightly unsettling look he had seen fleeting through those blue eyes, overall.. Haeldril seemed like a nice man.. He wasn't entirely sure if he trusted him yet, but with all the careful attentions and care he was receiving so far, he had high hopes that he may eventually be able to call him friend. He looked forward to that..
And with that.. He couldn't stop the smile as he felt strong fingers against hiss back, leading him out into the camp. He felt it to be quite vast..
"I think, Haeldril.. That I will take you up on your offer for a bed and provisions.." His smile didn't waver for even a moment, the expression reaching his eyes s he cast his eyes about the encampment, "Would be very foolish indeed to turn down such a hospitable offer, no? And I would not want to offend one such as yourself.." He looked up to the older drow with a grin, his red eyes mirthful, "So tell me.. How many strong is your camp here? You must have quite the interesting mix of folk.. They all answer to you?"

Hael was silent at first at the mention of dragon eggs, rolling the prospect around in his mind, before deciding that he would indeed be interested. He would have to remind Paetar to send a message out to Vic to travel to their next encampment immediately. It would be useless for him to travel to the Glimmersea when already the camp was preparing to move within the next several day. Hael realized he was not speaking, and smiled down at his guest sheepishly.
"I'm sorry, my mind was wandering for a moment, it was terribly rude of me. I would indeed be interested in the eggs, but let us not talk of business matters at the moment after all, I'm supposed to be giving you the grand tour!"
His eyes twinkled with mirth, mirroring Kalan's own happy mood as he pointed out the mess hall where the inhabitants ate their meals together at long tables, then the cluster of personal huts behind which housed the drow themselves. The encampment was only dimly lit with faerie fire, casting most into shadows, so Hael summoned his own blue orb to brighten things for Kalan's inspection.
"It would difficult to put a number on it... as you said, there is a plethora of drowfolk here, and many come and go as they please. Those who are initiated into our clann know how to find us easily enough if ever they wander too far and find this camp dismantled. We move often, as I told you before, never too long in one place, else the local guards tend to get uneasy. Despite our nomadic nature, there are always those who keep tabs on our movements. Better not to tempt any potential raiding parties or low-ranking houses looking for an easy target."
Hael did not mention that either attempt would be sorely mistaken; it was implied in the tone of voice, the way his eyes grew distant and his muscles tightened and rippled as if preparing to fight off any imminent threat. Any attackers would find themselves riddled with crossbow bolts, or losing their heads in the sharp swing of Hael's sword, or writhing in agony as the poison from blow darts worked its way through their bodies. Hael's smile never dimmed, however, despite the sudden spike in aggressive body language, as he continued to point out the yurt where his several poisoners worked, the fletcher who kept the bows and crossbows well stocked with arrows and bolts, and the blacksmith who was currently hammering out what appeared to be daggers on his anvil.
"Ah! Here is someone truly interesting. I'll introduce you."
Hael disappeared into a yurt from which strange screeches seemed to be emitted. He re-emerged with a scraggly-haired human, about a foot shorter than Hael, perhaps 5'2", and dressed in thin leather which seemed to by peppered with white flecks.
"Paetar, this is Kalan, Kalan, this is Paetar, our resident aviary expert. He maintains our message system."
The human inclined his head deeply to Kalan out of respect, idly taking from his pocket a furry brown ball about the size of his palm, which unfurled to reveal itself as a common cave bat.
"If there is anyone we need to contact, these bats can find them." Hael winked conspiritially to Kalan, leaning in close to share that, "I have no clue on earth how, but Paetar seems to understand it. He attempted to explain it to me once, but it confused me to such an extent that I usually just drop messages and let him figure it out himself. While you are here, if there are any messages you need to send, feel free to give them to Paetar. He will do his best to see that they get to their destination."

The younger drow kept pace beside the much taller, older drow still smiling happily though he slowly arched an amused eyebrow. He was thinking, he could tell, about the merits of dragon spawn evidently, he wasn't going to begrudge him thinking it over, they could be quite a handful when they wanted something and the potential to be deadly too.
"Oh I wouldn't worry yourself about it. They aren't something to be taken lightly are they?" He replied, nodding to indicate that he was ready to continue being shown around the encampment, his eyes continuing to sparkle both with good humour and with curiosity.
He followed on obediently, more that happy to be given the chance to cast his eyes around the camp, "If you had to put an approximate number on it, Haeldril..?" He gazed very much up at the giant of a drow with a cheekier look on his face, "You know, just on the off chance that I'll need to fight you all single handed when I find that a morning meal won't be included in my stay here!"
He gave the weapon crafting an equally intrigued look, his next sentence trailing off at his distraction before an even more intense look of curiosity crept across his features at the appearance of the next man. He looked the fellow up and down, not looking disgusted to to speak at the surface creature, but more a look of slight bewilderment as to what on earth he was doing so far into the underdark. He didn't want to ask what the white specks were either for that matter, he fancied it to be something a little unsavoury to say the least.
"Bats..?" He started, his eyes drifting down the the fuzzy creature waking in the man's hand, "How do you train them..? I always thought them to be a very instinctual creature.." He murmured.. Leaning a little closer to Haeldril, still running his eyes uneasily over the human, even daring to touch the older drow's forearm seeking a little reassurance.

Hael smiled and nodded in response to Kalan's quip about the dragons.
"No, indeed. But I will buy them from you. How much are you asking? I have a friend who would be interested in seeing them. "
He laughed and scratched his ear idlly, mulling over the question, adding up figures in his head.
"Uhh...let me think. I believe at the moment there is 150 to 200 here. Give or take the city we're travelling to, or how busy we are with trade..."
The male shrugged, unsure of himself. It was possible that the amounts was much more; some of the rogues preferred to travel outside of the group, simply taking up their places on the guard automatically. The Clann of Claddep tended to attrack the paranoid, and more than anything the rogues enjoyed watching from the shadows. A strange life perhaps, but if it made them happy who was he to complain? Hael suddenly realized that his mind was wondering once again, and that his hand had pressed itself fully against the bare side of Kalan's back.
"Oh, I uh...."
Hael blushed, he hadn't been listening, and now Kalan was looking at him, expecting an answer to a question he hadn't heard.
"Um....here!"
Hael reached over to take the soft brown bat from its keeper, handing it to Kalan daintily.
"Why don't you hold onto him for me? This is Erel. He's the only brown bat in the bunch."
He smiled sheepishly.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 11, 2008 11:08 am

He curled his fingers up just a little protectively around that small soft furred creature, "HMm..? Oh the eggs!" He smiled a little sheepishly back at that point, "Well you see.. If your friend is more of an expert on the dragons I think it would be better arranging a price for each of them with him. Though I've dealt with the eggs before I'm sadly not an expert of how close they are to hatching or even what species they could be.." He fidgeted a little, embarrassed that he could not be of more help. He tried to hide this by showing even more of an interest in the brown back, cooing very softly down at it, almost under his breath as he stroked his fingers gently over it's back, "Erel, huh..? I once knew a hawk called Errol. His owner dyed him red though I fail to see what use that ws, you could see him a mile of.." He rambled little aloud, seemingly unaware of himself and indeed of the slightly incredulous looks he must have been receiving.
He paused going a little wide eyed when more pressure was applied to the hand on his back..
He grinned up shyly once gain, "Oh uh.. Looks like we're both having some trouble concentrating, huh..?" He scuffed his feet little, holding onto Haels arm juuuuuuust a little bit more, "So uhm.. Where am I staying tonight, Haeldril..? Can we go see that next..?" His lips broadened into yet another small smile as his eyes kept evading the older drows, curiosity kept drawing them back.

"I've already sent for him to meet us at our next encampment, which is a few days travel away. If you like, you can leave the eggs with me, that is, if you must return to the surface soon...uh.."
Hael paused, losing his thought process as Kalan held onto him tightly. At the mention of sleeping arrangements, it was all Hael could do to hold back a stammer and a blush, his mind wandering directly into the gutter.
"Oh, of course! I think that it should be prepared by now."
He smiled, a little too cheerily, as he led the way, but not before promising Paeter that they would return Erel promptly after exploring the camp a little further. The human simply smirked and shrugged, returning back inside his yurt, confidant that his pet would find its way home one way or another. They passed into the area behind the tent where Hael had greeted Kalan and served him coffee, opposite the dining tent and rogue's personal tents beyond. It was obvious that here was where the elite of the camp chose to stay. Andrika stood, eyes closed, body still but for the vague twitching of a wing, outside of large, three tiered tent lined with blue braiding. Upon their approach, her eyes fluttered open, and the vaguest whisper of a smile crossed her lips. She bowed low, and immediately fell into step behind the pair of males.
"I prepared the yurt adjascent to your own master, the green guest room."
Hael nodded, and Andrika bowed once again, returning to her post as the door to Hael's own tent.
"Here we are! Shall we?"
Hael smiled and gestured to a double tiered tent lined in green braid, the door flap already pulled aside and tied for their ease of entrance. Hael stepped back, letting Kalan pass first before following. The immediate inside was a sitting room; green brocade fabric seperated this from the the sleeping area, which was currently hidden. A coffee service, the hot liquid still steaming in its pot, had been set on the low, long wood table just prior to their entrance, along with a small bowl of fresh fruit. Hael could not help but smile, Andrika, as usual, was eerily thorough and had thought of everything.
"You are free to use these quarters as you see fit, and feel free to wander about the camp as you wish. All know that you are here as my guest, though I would suggest not wandering too far...as I said earlier, some of the rogues are exceedingly paranoid."
Hael smiled, looking down at the younger male, wondering how on earth to extract himself without embarressing them both.
"Well...I should, ah, take my leave of you. You must be tired."
He bowed, reaching out to take Erel, when he looked up, and their eyes met. Hael's breath caught, and he froze.
"Uhm..."
Against all better judgement, he leaned in, brushing his lips ever so lightly over the youth's.

Kalan mused over this option for a moment, he didn't really want to leave the eggs alone if he could get away with it, but on the other hadn't he felt like he could.. Trust.. This drow.. Slightly unsettling as the thought was, it was a relief to have met someone who didn't put him quite so on edge as his other encounters with power wielding males of their species.
"Well.. I don't want to overstay my welcome," He started, keeping pace with his blue haired host, "But if possible I would rather stay as long as I can with them until I really do have to leave, not meaning to be rude of course!" He hastily added, anxious not to out-stay his welcome.
He took in the route they took, pretty much back to where they had started their tour, it seemed to him though they deviated once or twice from the way they had walked out away from it. It irked him that he couldn't simply turn off noticing such things at times, but it was useful none the less if he ever had reason to leave in a hurry. Now that was something he dearly hoped he wouldn't have to be doing..
"Room..?" He started, curiously. He wasn't so used to having a room to himself if indeed that was what was implied. Privacy was not something hat he came across so easily these days especially preparing for raids.
The moment he entered the tent he went ever so slightly slack jawed.
"Haeldril.. I.. I'm really not used to be offered such a luxurious place to rest.." He tailed off softly, automatically extending his hand to Hael to be relieved of the soft brown bat that he had all but forgotten the moment he had seen the tent.
"It's.." He smiled a little sheepishly, glancing up at the other males face then down at his feet, "Well I really like the colour too.." He returned the small bow to Hael expressing his thanks, "Many thanks, Haeldril, for you generosity.." He rose slowly, his eyes flicked up to the other male, And.. uh.." He paused s they.. Well they sort of seemed to meet on their way up.. Eyes locking, and then.
Was he being kissed..?
His eyes widened slightly, he was shocked more at his lack of a more violent reaction than anything else. His lips just parted ever so slightly in shock, inhaling deeply.
More surprisingly, it wasn't an entirely unwelcome feeling he was getting from it.
He was fairly awestruck to say the least, as he curled his fingers gently over Haels forearm.

Hael exhaled slowly, languishing in the moment and drawing it out as long as he could, kissing Kalan ever so softly. His eyes were half-lidded, and he resisted the urge to press his lips more forcefully, hungrily against the younger drow. His free hand drifted to the youth's bared stomach, his fingertips brushing over the skin of his side before Hael had the sense to retreat, finally breaking the contact and the kiss with it a he straightened.
"I, uh...."
This time he could not keep the blush from his cheeks, and he found he could not look directly into the smaller drow's face, for fear of the expression of revulsion he might find there.
"Paetar must be waiting."
He bowed low, then fled from the tent. He was almost all the way to Paetar's before he realized that he'd forgotten Erel. Cursing, he continued on to the messenger's tent regardless, deciding that he should send the message to his brother immediately. He could not decide whether he wanted Vic to come early, and keep him from embarressing himself further, or whether he hoped that the Vic would get lost, and keep Kalan here longer in waiting.
Arriving at the tent he called out to Paetar, then entered.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 24, 2008 12:55 pm

Kalan held the deep breath he had taken just moments before, slowly relaxing little by little into the situation that he had found himself in at this moment in time. It was.. It was so very very nice..
Exhaling slowly, slightly haltingly, he curled his finger all the more firmly against and over Haeldrils forearm, felling it dip slightly as it went to his stomach. It almost tickled! The feather light touch at first before it was emboldened, pressing more firmly against him then stroking across to his side.
Kalan pretty much felt like he was shifting to auto-pilot, everything was becoming pleasantly warm and fuzzy around the edges and it was very very enjoyable! His eyes slipped closed as he mirrored Hael's hand for a moment, only he stroked his bare finger-tips up over the older drow's firm stomach and over his toned chest and armour. He ghosted his fingers very briefly over his collarbone then at last up his neck to come to a rest against the taller male's jaw, opening his mouth just that little bit more when..
Suddenly the giant of a man disappeared from against him!
His eyes snapped open in an instant, his own dark skinned cheeks taking on a strangely rosey hue as he nervously cleared his throat for a moment, Hael's words going right over his head.
In fact, Hael had already made it out of the tent before Kalan had pulled himself together enough to realise that the giver of such.. Invigorating.. Attentions had fled the scene of the crime!
He stumbled a little, calling his name then sticking his head out of the tent to call after him, but find that he had melted away into the bustle of the encampment, "Haeldril..?"
He tried anyway, stepping fully outside. It was a futile effort in any case he felt. Haeldril struck him as the sort of drow who could make it so that he wouldn't be found if he did not wish for it.
His cheeks still slightly pink, the young drow smiled slightly secretively to himself as he tucked an arm around himself, lifting one hand to his face, his fingertips brushing his lips gently.
"You'd better not stay away too long, Haeldril.." He mused quietly..
THen it struck him. What on earth WOULD he do when they next ran into each other?
He frowned slightly at that one as he turned and ducked back inside his quarters to be greeted with..
A wayward brown bat climbing the canvases and drapes!
"Erel! I'm not sure if that'll be appreciated!" He scooped up the small soft creature, cupping him in his hands, "He forgot you.." He chuckled slightly wickedly, "I must really have wrong footed him, huh..? I'll take you back myself if I can find the way.. You make sure you tell Paeter to tell Haeldril that he really should come and see me again soon.. I really liked.. Well.." He smiled, letting himself out once again, looking left then right as he brushed his nose against the bat's soft fur as he wondered vaguely which way it was that he had to go..
He went right and hoped for the best.

Haeldril was finding it exceedingly difficult to concentrate as Paetar prattled on in heavily accent drow, his mind wandering back to the events of the tent, his hand idlly tracing the path that Kalan's had drawn a few moments earlier. He blushed, reliving the soft touch of the youth's hand as it slipped over the smooth skin of his neck, and just as Haeldril began to pull away, had he imagined that the drow's lips had parted ever so slightly? Had welcomed his impromptu kiss? Haeldril frowned and shook his head, struggling to focus.
"I'm sorry Paetar, what were you saying?"
The human tilted his head to the side, and quirked an eyebrow in curiosty.
"Mah apologees for seeying dis, maester, bot ye haff been nyot yerself.."
Hael sighed and nodded.
"Yes, I know. There's a lot on my mind. Has there been any word from Vic yet? In the last message I told him to come as quickly as possible."
"Der haff been none, maester. Shall I sund anudder?"
"No, that's fine, Paetar. If he has not responded, he must already be on his way. "
The man bowed low as Hael swept past and outside the tent, his hand brushing his brow as he questioned what he should do about Kalan, when the drow himself rounded a corner, carrying Erel. Hael froze, unsure whether to run or stay. As he was sure he'd been spotted, Hael stood his ground, and attempted a smile.
"I'm sorry for running out like that..but I uh...."
He shrugged, unsure what to say.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:24 pm

Looking this way and that as he went, Kalan was slowly recalling an re-mapping the plan f the camp as he knew it so far. He wasn't in all honesty the best at finding his way, he could do well enough, he never got lost on a mission. He'd always taken extra time in these cases to work out where he was going to have to go before hand. He hadn't really expected to have to leave his tent, even less to be kissed by the drow in charge of it all!
He took another turn, flushing a little more at the encounter in his temporary quarters, it was still fresh in his mind and he reasoned that that, above all, was probably the reason he was doing worse than usual in his attempts at locating the 'bat-persons' tent.
"Dear.." He muttered as he turned another corner, though there were much stronger words that he would have liked to have used.
He did use them as he looked ahead to find the impressively tall drow who had just run away from him!
He hadn't really counted on seeing him so soon, he hadn't come up with a plan of action yet!
The embarrassment of seeing him just made his dark rose-hinted cheeks all the darker as he looked down at the bat as if to get some sort of support from it. It wriggles and scree'd in response, knowing it was close to home.
"I.. Ah.." He stumbled over his words for a moment as he let the bat go, watching it flit to where it had come from, the tent.
Ever so slowly he looked up at Haeldril again, "Uhm.. Well, it's probably my fault.. I think..?" He pulled a strange face at that one, intensely aware that he was spouting utter nonsense that would really make very little sense.
"I.. I.." He dipped his head suddenly, "Ididlikeitquitealot! Idon'tknowwhatto.. Do?"
His cheeks grew redder and hotter.. If he wasn't already underground he's really have started to wish that the ground would swallow him up.
Scuffing his feet a little he tried peeking up at the blue-haired drow without him seeing.

At first unsure of himself, Haeldril was suddenly himself, his brows arching as her watched the embarressed youth with growing delight. It was difficult not to swagger as he took a few steps closer, tilting his head to the side so as to watch Kalan's face as he pointedly avoided meeting the larger drow's eyes. His grin could not have been more cocksure even if he had tried. Waves of relief flowed through him, making the usually guarded male bold.
"What was that?"
He suppressed his chuckle, drawing ever closer, his fingers gently pulling up the youth's chin as he bent lower, so that their eyes met.
" I thought you'd said you'd enjoyed it."
His thumb brushed over Kalan's blushing cheek, the soft touch causing Hael to sober; he studied the youth's face, as if memorizing it both with his eyes and his fingertips, which whispered over the warm skin. Haeldril's cocky smirk had been reduced to a subtle smile, though his eyes betrayed his trembling excitement. Footsteps broke the magic of the moment, and Hael wrenched himself away from the smaller man just as Paetar emerged from the tent behind them. The man did not glance their way however, instead he hurried towards the large common tent. It was close to dinner time, and soon the rogues would be eating in shifts. Hael turned back to Kalan, his smile still subtle, but vaguely predatory.
"Would you like to join me in my tent for something a little more satisfying?"
PostPosted: Sat May 03, 2008 8:40 am

All the while his head was dipped down, Kalan couldn't stop his eyes getting wider and wider as he heard Hael move closer, eventually seeing a familiar pair of boots stepping horribly confidently into his narrowed field of vision. His face was burning with embarrassment, he should not have said what he had just then. What the HELL had he been thinking? What in the underdark was going to happen now? He hadn't left himself any room for escape out of this situation, it dawned on him it made him feel trapped, but he couldn't bring himself to run away from the situation either, it was as curious as it was terrifying.
He held his breath, his red eyes still fairly wide as the hand touched to his chin lifted his head, and just for a moment he stared back into Haeldrils cool eyes as he valiantly tried to come up with something to say, anything, so long as it didn't embarrass himself further.
His resolve crumbled a little the more he stared, the man was almost hypnotic, and the gentle stroking against his cheek eased his nerves a little more. He had such a gentle touch for someone with as much power as he did, getting his way without question, or so he fancied. Yet he still kept him waiting for an answer, and Kalan had still neglected to breath out since the older drow had moved closer and touched him, still looking up he leant a little closer to Hael, opening his mouth to agree when they were interrupted by Paeter leaving the tent.
He leant back as Hael all but jumped away from him, breathing out explosively as last, his chest heaving a little. Holding his breath for so long had made his breathing heavy, he knew that it wasn't just that he had been holding his breath, but he wasn't about to admit that to himself just yet.. It was getting all the more difficult to deny that he found Haeldril to be an attractive drow, albeit a drow that he barely knew at all.
His breathing even out slowly though it stayed a little heavier than it would normally have been, and once they were alone for the most part he dared to dart his ruby eyes back up to Haeldril once more.
Slowly a small smile started to just tug at the corners of his mouth with a nod to the older drow, "I.. I did say that I liked it.." He quietly admitted at long last, extending a hand ever so slightly towards Haeldril. He was still nervous of the situation, of the other drow too, he wanted a little reassurance even if it was just a touch to his arm.
"And I.. I.." He faltered just a little at the many implications of the invitation that had just been extended to him, his cheeks trying to darken even more, "I.. It.. It depends what you.. Mean by that, Haeldril.." He stammered his words just a little, purely nerves.
Part of him, he knew, wouldn't be too adverse to what he thought that his host was implying. He'd been curious for a long while to say the least.
So with a little incline of his head he agreed to join Hael at least..
"We'll ah.. Yes..?"

It was difficult not to laugh, not exactly at the younger drow, but at the way in which he struggled with himself to find an answer. Hael crossed his arms, his head at an arrogant tilt as Kalan fumbled his words before finally agreeing. If the older drow was surprised, his face revealed nothing.
"Lovely. If you would like to freshen up before hand, I'll have Andrika bring a basin and sponge to your tent. And as for myself," he winked roguishly, " I have a few things to prepare myself."
Sweeping a low bow, his smirk hidden beneath his cascading hair, Haeldril turned on his heel and marched off in the direction of his own tent.

A quarter of an hour later, Hael was obsessively rearranging the plates on the table, his still damp hair clinging to his chiseled cheek. He chewed his bottom lip nervously, while Andrika looked on with all the amusement a gloaming could muster.
"Oh, off with you now!" He muttered testily.
Obediantly, she inclined her head and swept out of the room soundlessly. Hael continued to fuss over the table a few moments longer, before giving up and collapsing into a mountainous heap of pillows in dismay. Butterflies in his stomach made him feel slightly nauseus at the sight of the platters of exotic foods which graced the mahogany table, and yet he was glad that he'd had the foresight to order such an expansive meal for two. At least if they were eating, then any silences would not be so awkward. Not to mention the visual tittilation of watching his mouth curl around... Hael shook his head, eyes wide at the turn his inner thoughts had taken so quickly. It was difficult to control himself, even before Kalan's arrival. Despite their new acquaintance, he found himself wanting the youth intensely. The passion sank to the pit of his stomach, giving birth to his nerves. You're being ridiculous, he scolded himself, being so enamoured someone you barely know. He repeated this over and over, like a mantra in his head, but still his heartbeat quickened at the sound of footsteps outside his door. Clamboring out of the pillows, he straightened his carefully chosen attire; a midnight silk brocade vest over a loose egyptian cotton tunic. Hael tugged at the vest a little in irritation; it felt too tight over his torso, as if he had grown fatter since wearing it last. The voice in his head disagreed, he'd never been more fit and he sighed. When Kalan entered, he was holding his breath.
