Melody: In turn she gave a snort herself. "It's obvious I'd be a fool to do anything you told me." She simply glared at him, knowing this all must be about having the control. He probably didn't give a rats about her voice. It was more the fact that by giving in and singing for him, he had the power over her.

Glancing at the spiked arrows she raised an eyebrow. "You think attacking me is going to make me sing?" She asked plainly, though not in a voice that dared him to try. She tried to put up a brave front. She was not weak. She had never feared another soquili before...

...Though she considered that true, she certainly was starting to have her doubts. Quietly, she thought it wouldn't surprise her if he'd killed someone in the past. She got the impression he liked this sort of thing. What a nasty attitude he had. She had too much to live for and certainly didn't want to be his next victim! Victim she'd be anyway if she gave in and sang though...

So, she was rather confused on what to do next... Perhaps she could out run him? She prided herself of knowing these lands better than most. Running might not be so brave, but it beat having to sing for such a horrible being and also of injury or death. After all, she couldn't defend herself well against a big armored brute like him...but if he did attack she wasn't simply going to take it either.

Maybe there was another way. Perhaps she could trick him some how. She hadn't quite figured that part out yet so waited for a reply and hoped it was not violent.

"My dear, what makes a song is entirely open to interpretation," Kiyoshi, now thriving on the impending chase seemed to have steeled himself and gained a little more life. His journey to the Kawani may have been tiring but now that he could smell a confrontation - a challenge to his power within the air, his nostrils began to flare and his muscles quivered in silent anticipation.

Dominating, interrogating...forcing the victim to submit. He loved it all, the moment he acquired absolute power was the moment he revelled in his triumph and then calmly decided what to do with the creature so foolish as to question him. What he would do was hardly difficult to guess tough, given his present victim was female.

"Perception - one might say the screams of pain and anguish are a song in themselves," deliberately, he ensured his voice remained smooth. Soothing in quality, he could have been lulling a child to sleep had it not been for the almost feral glow that emitted from his eyes. However she was right, he was not adverse to killing those who caused him problems.

"I appreciate both forms," he deemed it unnecessary to give her any other assurances as he flicked his tail against his flank once more, the spikes biting against the armour plating in an indignant fashion. "Make your choice." He ordered darkly.

Melody: Disgusted by his answer she couldn't help but turn away, finding his very presence offensive. "A song is never any of those things." She muttered indignantly with a stamp of her hoof. Even if she sang now she was sure he'd still do something unpleasant. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if she gave in now, so she had no choice but to do what she was about to... no matter if it was foolish...

Melody turned back to stare into his cold eyes and declared angrily. "I'd rather die than sing for you!"

She wasn't about to wait for the first whack however and backed away quickly, before turning and running as fast as she could into the trees that marked the beginning of the forest...

She knew he could run and fly but if he chose to fly after her, it would be hard to see through the coverage of the trees. Perhaps he would not follow and simply find someone else to interrogate??? She wasn't going to take that chance though and jumped quickly over rock, plant, log and dodging trees. It wasn't one of the main forest paths. She wasn't going to make chasing her easy for him if he decided on that option. Her smaller frame would give her the advantage or atleast she hoped so...

Ah now this brought bck memories. Unfortunately the mare was not a filly and thus she wasn't directly connected to the sense of de ja vu he appeared to be having but all the same. How many mares had that been who had attempted to out run him now? Countless he expected but he was without a shadow of a doubt, unprepared to let anything escape from him. Until she had answered his questions she was his and no amount of pleading would change that.

Ruffling his feathers, he entertained the mare's thoughts of success by waiting for a few moments. A master hunter (if he didn't say so himself), he would let her flee from him as quickly as was physically possible before sauntering towards her with that fleeting smile upon his lips. He would of course win, there was no room for argument at this end of the discussion at all.

He was fter all, superior.

Nevertheless, after a few moments of consideration he at last moved forward into the trees at a casual saunter. She would leave tell tale signs of where she had been and in the meantime he would sing and coax in that low and soft tone he loved so very dearly.

"There is no point in running..."

Melody: Still she continued moving along at top speed with everything passing by her in a blur. She sensed he was following her and prayed silently that she wouldn't trip on something and fall, her fear causing her to jump with caution over some of the larger objects.

After a while she began to start softly panting. The first sign that she couldn't keep going at this fast pace for too much longer. She was not about to slow her pace now however and would rather her legs fall off. The thoughts of him catching her made her shudder.

How she wished to see a familiar face right now! Immediately her thoughts drifted to that of Cotton. A smile formed on her lips knowing that she would make sure she got back to him safely. Her sweet mate. Even Honaw she'd be pleased to see right now, her tough little pirate bear familiar. She gritted her teeth now more determined than ever to make sure she lost Kiyoshi.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 3:24 am

If there was one thing Kiyoshi couldn't stand to be around it was bears, it was peculiar for one of such strength to have an odd vice and yet there was a reason for everything. Long ago, he recalled pursuing a unicorn in much the same way. No more than a filly at the time her jesting and naive nature had made her an easy target - her twinkling pelt like a jewel he had wanted her. She had of course run away, her little legs moving as quickly as posible but unfortunately she hadn't been able to lose him...

Then it had come.

The filly had released a high pitched wail that shot a jolt down the stallion's spine, a warning of an approachng menace. He had ignored it and sincerely wished he hadn't given that moments later he had found himself in the middle of a battle with a rather large and angered bear. He had dispatched of the bear, after a number of minutes he had triumphed but not without it's cost.

Firstly, he had lost his treasure...the little mare had bolted the second she had her chance and the second - he had received a rather large and severe amount of gash and gouge wounds to his form. He was strong though and had consequently stormed back to his abode to demand that he be cared for by his subordinates and they had done so without question but all the same.

...He hated bears. He knew he could beat them, could rip them to shreds but their meddlesome ways always made him lose his treasure and more often than not, represented a bad sign to him. Thus, it was a shame that Melody's bear hadn't been at her side for he would have turned round and stalked off immediately.

Nevertheless, with a flick of his lustrous tail the stallion continued through the forest. Following the trail of cracked twigs, broken branches and disturbed leaves one might have said the poor mare hardly presented a challenge to him at all. He really did wish his victims would sometimes be a little more creative if he was honest.

Melody: The optimism from only moments ago was quickly fading upon realising that she was slowing down. It was inevitable. "No! No! No!" She cried loudly in frustration. This was not how it was supposed to end!

She glanced around either side of her as if hoping someone would suddenly appear. For soon she would slow to a trot and then eventually a walk and he would catch her! She would hide if she had to, but even that was not full proof.

Why was Honaw not here? He usually was never far away! He found it rather amusing to follow her around and try annoy her. Of all the days not to follow her he had picked this one.

So she continued as best she could, slowing by the second.

...Of course this furry little face had not been too far away. He had at first been following Melody yes, but had decided to take a nap and had done so in the forest.

So he was rather surprised indeed to be awoken from under his favourite tree to the close by yellings of No!. Familiar was the voice too...but surely it couldn't possibly be Melody could it?? He had never heard her in such a state! Not even after one of his pranks.

Padding as quickly as possible down towards the noise, he stopped suddenly on hearing the hoofbeats coming nearer and nearer. Coming towards him was a tiring pink mare that he had never seen look so frustrated and panicked before. "Melody stop!" Of course she did, just before almost bowling him over. She stood behind him muttering in between puffs something that sounded like His coming, lets keep going.

"You go, I'm staying here." He said with an angry growl. Though he never particularly showed a liking for Melody, deep down he of course had a respect for her and considered her his friend. He straightened his pirate hat and stood waiting in silence for the one that was chasing Melody. If he could defeat the rabbits of long john silver, this would be no different.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 4:36 am

One could certainly argue that Kiyoshi was no rabbit, nor was he a typical predator either given that his overall demeanor was entirely different. His body remained relax, his expression dubious as he glanced at every small sign in the forest. To a passer by he would simply look like a wandering soquili and yet...Well, Melody knew otherwise now. He was far from ordinary and the intensity of the glow in his eyes supported this fact.

Oh ho, yes...he was not normal.

Nevertheless, he flicked his tail against his flank and cast a disapproving glance towards a fallen tree trunk as it cling against the blades bound to the strands. Ah there was always something getting in his way in these lands. The Kawani was such an untidy place and to say it was irritating would be an understatement. Truly, the moment he dispatched of this trouble mare, located his heir and enacted his plan the better!

Alas, the stallion continued to drift after the trail made and was satisfied to see a softening of steps. No longer were the leaves quite so scattered and the hoof beats so loud in the distance. She was slowing down - really when would they learn that running didn't help anything? It was part of that painful, torturous process he forced them all to endure until they realised they simply couldn't escape.

Unfortunately or him, she could this time - for his eyes had just clapped upon Honaw.

"Bear," he stated plainly as he came to a halt and seemed to assess the growling bear for a while.

Honaw: "Yes. And you've crossed the wrong bear." He stated with a snarl showing his teeth. He stood tall and added with another growl. "You better not have hurt her."
He didn't care that Kiyoshi was bigger than him or more fierce looking. He was plain angry, in fact no he was enraged....Not only had he been trying to harm Melody, but he had woken Honaw up from his nap. You can never get a good sleep around here. He thought grumpily to himself.

"You take another step and you'll regret it." He glared angrily at Kiyoshi before adding with a strange sounding calmness. "Never ever are you to go near Melody again. Don't even so much as look at her."

Melody: Just a little further along watched Melody, having fell over quite exhausted. The tiredness had set in once she'd stopped moving. Worried she was for Honaw and she tried to get up to help him but her legs wern't quite listening.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 1:21 am

Crossed the wrong bear? In Kiyoshi's opinion there wasn't a right bear and the very statement mde him raise a brow. Otherwise ensuring that his expression remained unreadable, he listened to the words that came from the fluffballs mouth with vague interest - to be frank, he only piked up bits nd pieces of what he deemed to be relevant. It was only when the bear stated orders to him that his brow lifted higher.

Who did he think he was?

"I fail to see who you are referring to, Sir." he stated plainly, the picture of innocence though he was aware of the stuggling female nearby. Unimpressed by the overall show of the bear, yet well aware of the exhaustion of the female he had taken a slightly difference stance. Will if he was going to lose out to this bear he would make it as mentally traumatic for her as he could.

Emotional blackmail had it's perks.

"Nor have I heard such names..." drifting into silence, he coaxed a perplexed expression onto his features. To a passerby he would have looked truly confused, "And they said these lands were warm and ebracing to new comers," his expression turned to one of vague disappointment as he continued to eye the disgruntled bear. it was then, and only then that a cruel smirked flicked onto his lips and he chuckled softly.

"Giving orders to one you do not know, is rude."

Honaw: "You think you can fool me do you?" He asked with a snort of laughter. Kiyoshi may have tricked a few soquili in his time but Honaw was not of their kind. He didn't trust anyone normally anyway and he may have just woken up, but he knew a liar when he saw one. "I know your sort well enough." He stated with a smirk.

Honaw usually would have whacked someone like Kiyoshi without wasting more words. He wanted Melody to have recovered a bit if it came to that.

"Not everyone in this land is pathetically pleasant. Now get lost." He pointed a claw in the direction away from Melody.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 3:03 am

Kiyoshi didn't even dignify the bear with a response - instead he deliberately stepped forward and began to move around the bear. He would of course have been significantly more amicable had the bear chosen to ask somewhat more politely but alas the smirk and the orders simply hadn't been received very well from the regal stallion. He was the only individual who could given orders and he would be obeyed.

He may have detested bears, but if they desired to provoke him he would play their game. Let him come, the stallion would simply subject him to the torturous abuse he had witnessed so many humans perform on animals. Ah yes, the corrupted two legger had not spoken his tongue but had been a kindred spirit - he had carefully bound the blades to his tail and added yet another weapon to his arsenal.

It would be fun then - to see the bear quiver under the bite of a blade whip.

Ensuring that his yes emained fixed ahead the stallion sauntered passed the bear and towards the now vulnerable mare. He was all too aware that the ignorant beast would launch at him but all the same - he wanted the mare to see the pain and suffering on her fluffy friend. Would she scream on his behalf, would she beg for forgiveness...

Or would she submit?

Honaw: His eyes flashed with pure hatred as a low growl escaped his throat. Who did this soquili think he was? He had warned this male to stay away! How polite he had been about it too...as it was for Honaw, considering the circumstances. He could have been less polite and just immediately launched at him.

If he wanted so willingly to fight instead of simply turning away, it was fine by him.

Honaw flexed his claws menacingly, always sharp as if prepared for such a moment. He lunged towards Kiyoshi from behind, aiming to wound him and make him retreat...

Melody: Her eyes widened with a mixture of worry and anger as Kiyoshi approached. She thought Honaw would make the problem simply disappear. Kiyoshi wasn't letting it go though, both he and Honaw fired up. Oh how she wanted this day to end!

Heaving herself up onto her knees, she began the process of trying to stand again. A flying maddened bear heading towards Kiyoshi however caught her eye and she froze where she was.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 4:15 am

The hadow approaching his form at such a rapid rate was enough of a sign, easy to see through the glow of his eyes he moved swiftly and effeciently to counter the assault. It wasn't a complete dodge, on the contrary Kiyoshi wasn't prepared just yet to rip into the fluffyball. No, he wanted to intensify the suffering - first he would exhaust the wreckless beast and then he would slice him part.

Thus, it was with a flick of his hindlegs that he swung himself round, neck arching as he position himself in a manner that would ensure he was struck. Unfortunately though, the claws wouldn't land on his flanks but instead, would grind painfully against the almost razor like edges of the armour about his legs. They hadn't always been sharp, he had ordered them to be sharpened for the sake of tidyness but all the same...

Let him come.

The smirk deepened at this, he wasn't particularly worried about his wings given that they were ethereal and not particularly vulnerable. But then again, Kiyoshi rarely worried about anything - it wasn't his style. Neverthless, he made sure that the angle he was at was perfect for the mare's viewing pleasure. He would eat this bear alive but of course he would be 'honourable' - he would let him live, he would just make sure he was on the brink of death as well.

A life spared, it would be his good deed for the day.

Honaw: Going at such a speed he could not avoid the clash between armour and claw, making pain jolt through his whole body before sliding to the ground with a soft thud. Atleast he had landed in front of Kiyoshi so he blocked the path again to Melody.

Showing as little pain as possible he stood up quickly and actually forced a laugh. "You won't be so lucky next time." He murmered. This time he bared his teeth. He jumped and aimed to clamp quickly onto Kiyoshi's nose before he had time to react.

Melody: Wincing at the awful sound claw and armour made, she had to close her eyes until the sound had stopped. Breathing in deeply she finally stood up.
