"Hey, I meant that!" Montgomery jokingly protested, "We're both a tad on the ragged side, I think, but you still look a hundred times better than any other female." He purred softly when she started licking at him, immediately feeling better with the damp gone and his fur nice and straight. He tilted his head to the side as she slid down next to him, and started carefully at the tips of her ears, licking at her fur, carefully cleaning away the dirt and tangles.
"You are more than good enough for me, Kiarra, you are far more than I ever had hoped to find in a mate. And being scared is part of life, I am scared myself, especially in unknown situations like this. But there's a difference now, I have you to cling to, and you have me. You never have to be alone again, Kiarra, I will always be there for you. No matter what." He smiled and purred gently, the sound reverberating through his chest as he worked his way down the side of Kiarra's neck and her chest, admiring the sleek fur and graceful lines.
"You make me feel whole, Kiarra, I can't live without you, and we'll be together in this, and in everything else." He smiled at her, licking her nose.

"Mmmhmmm.." She agreed peacefully, starring towards the entrance of the cave; she could see the rain running past as lightning flashed sporadically in the backdrop.
The distance traveled and depressing weather had made her tiered, or feel tiered at least. She was lost for words in such a special moment, starring dully into space before she finally rested herself comfortably against her mate. She sighed and stretched her paws, 'massaging' the ground for a second before curling into a neat circle, pressed against Monty.
The tip of her long tail rose and fell, mimicking the rhythm of her chest as she relaxed her breathing. "For once in my life...All is perfect.." She cooed softly in the darkness, looking up towards him before letting her eyelashes flash shut.

Montgomery smiled lovingly, snuggling his soft, warm belly fur against Kiarra, purring softly. "I agree, love. The perfect moment." He fell silent as her eyes closed, just assuring her with his presence that she was not alone, and could sleep in peace and safety. In the darkness his eyes fell on her slightly-bulging abdomen, and he smiled to himself. What a wonderful female, and even more so that she was carrying their first kits. Whatever happened, he was sure, would be a challenge, but not one they could not overcome. They were both smart, agile on their feet, and totally in love with each other, and that was a very hard combination to beat.
He nestled down, resting his head lightly on Kiarra's shoulder as his eyes slowly closed. Who knows what tomorrow would bring? It was sure to be interesting, life with Kiarra around was never dull.

A month had come and passed, bringing with it many changes that seemed to happen over night. Kiarra now found herself slightly rounded, with odd cravings; she had been strictly craving fish for the past two days...
She was now halfway along her pregnancy, another 5 and a half weeks and she would hopeflly be nursing their new cubs. Still, it seemed forever...Though there were always little things that served as reminders that the babes were on their way; she had just felt the strongest kick yet. They were comming into this world kicking and screaming, she mentaly noted with a sleepy grin.
The weather seemed to soften, offering the last few weeks of sunny weather as an appology for all the rain..
The beaming sun had warmed Kiarra's face, gently nudging her awake. She yawned and curled her tongue, half purring as she rolled to her oppostie side to see where Montgomery was. She rested both her paws on her belly as she 'hugged' both cubs good morning; though she would have wanted more, she was sure there were only two.

Montgomery padded into the cave, smiling and soaking wet from the tips of his ears to his paws. He held a large fish in his jaws carefully, it was still wiggling and flopping a bit as he walked over to Kiarra, setting it down just in front of her nose. "Good morning, sleepy." He smiled and nuzzled her cheek, leaving a little patch of damp. "How are the little ones doing today?"
He sat down close beside her and began carefully cleaning the water and tiny bits of stream weeds off of himself. "I think I'm at a draw with the fish, I got him, and he got me." He laughed with his usual humor, making an odd face at the taste of a particular piece of vegetation. Over the past weeks, he had been doing everything in his power to help his mate, not knowing any other way to make her life easier, bringing her food, making sure she was warm at night, and generally being fussy and protective however he could. She was just so... large! He was not entirely sure how she managed to stand up and walk around, she seemed to be changing proportion every day, turning into something slightly different and beautiful every time he turned around.

She greeted Monty with a stream of purrs, ignoring the unavoidable wetness as she returned his sweet gesture, taking note of the large fish he had captured. Over the last few weeks, Kiarra could have never imagined a better mate...Or a better fisherman. He seemed to push himself to unbelievable limits, just to make her happy...The thought of having to get wet for every single fish he had brought home to her, sent an uncomfortable vibe down her back; she hated when her fur clumped from the water.
"A little more vibrant then usual..." She admitted, still lying on her back with her paws cupping her tummy lightly. "Restless I suppose... If they're anything like their father" She paused and looked up from the poofyness of her fur, the bigger her stomach got, the fluffier she seemed to be.
Though she knew Monty would love her unconditionally, she couldn't help but feel like a puffy-faced hippo under his gaze; though she didn’t mind...This was the price to pay for their future joy.
"I see you were successful, yet again, my dear...How was the riverside?" She asked with interest, watching the fish gulping for air, slowly beginning to stop flopping. She hated seeing things suffer, so she quickly proceeded to bite off its head with one quick chomp. Spitting it out immediately; gills always left a dirty taste in her mouth.
A yawn erupted from her mouth, draining all her energy as her legs gave way, finally rolling onto her back as she looked up at Monty; extra sleep....oh the woes of motherhood.
She looked up at Monty, pausing her purring for a moment as her eyes seemed to coo, 'your everything I ever wante-', A swift kick ended that though as she looked down in surprise.
With a soft laugh, she whispered "Come settle the children.." as she propped herself up, half sitting as she waited for him. "Lay your head against my belly, they'll feel you purr...They'll know you're there.." She whispered in an abnormally motherly fashion.

"That's good!" He nodded encouragingly. "Active cubs will be healthy cubs." He admired her rounded belly proudly as he carefully groomed himself dry and tidy so that he would not get Kiarra wet, he knew how much she disliked being damp. He rubbed the side of his head down his own chest to make sure it was dry and warm, then nestled up against his mate's side, purring happily. "Is that enough fish, love, or would you like me to get you another one? I found a very good spot this morning, a little riffle with a rock in it, where a lot of fish are hiding. I, ah, sorta found it by face-planting in the stream, but one way is as good as another, I'd say." He chuckled in good-natured humor, his disposition seeming to have mellowed quite a lot in the past weeks from his usual serious, though friendly, mien.
Monty rubbed against her side, and when she lay down, he followed suit. He listened to her with love in his eyes, that quickly expanded to humor when she was cut off by an internal kick. "Heheh, someone wanted to get a word in, I think." He smiled and pressed the side of his head against her soft-furred belly, feeling the little motions of the cubs inside through her skin. He purred gently and licked at the little cub-places he could hear through her body, hoping that the little ones knew he was here, even though he could not touch them. "That's wonderful, Kiarra, our little cubs, right there!" He looked at her with love in his eyes, still with his head pressed against her side, feeling the life inside her.

She greeted him calmly, her eyes watching him with affectionate attention as she quickly thanked him, "No love, That fish would feed a fleet of starving crocodiles" She exaggerated, taking a deep breath as the fishy scent caught her attention, making her whiskers twitch..
"Hmm..." She agreed, closing her eyes for a moment until the kicking subsided.
Unwillingly, She gave into the never-ending hunger and rose to her feet, pausing to pin her mate down for a moment. She stared down at him, giggling as she lowered herself to his face and whispered "You're a wonderful provider...".
She moved off towards the meal, pawing at the fish before beginning to nibble on the meaty sides; eating was all she did and she was pretty sick of it...Yet, she couldn't force herself to stop.
After finishing her little brunch, she decided a little stroll would be in need. "Would you like to go for a walk? Just to get out a little...I mean, We wont be able to do very much once the-" She looked down at her tummy before back at him with a smirk, "The kids arrive..".
She stretched her back, little aches and pains had crept on her these last few days, she found herself a little more tense then usual today. Thus, a walk was definitely what she needed to warm those muscles.

"Well, just as long as it will feed you and the little ones." He smiled and purred when she held him down, going playfully kitty-limp under her paws. "Well, you're doing all the hard work, I have to help somehow." He rolled onto his paws and nuzzled her, keeping a watch out of the den while she ate, a rather un-necessary but deeply-engrained habit, watching the morning sun sparkle on the dewy leaves and grass.
"It's a lovely morning, I think a walk would be wonderful, love," he murred pleasently. "When the cubs arrive, well... the outside is movable, and I'm a patient fellow. I'll move it inside, if I need to." He chuckled and pondered where best to put the shrubberies.

She sky was splashed with reds and oranges. She took deep breaths as the strolled, taunting him with her steps at time as she playfully bumped into him and rubbed her face alongside his body. The days of motherhood where great ones, she never felt the 'mommy blues' as some experience..Rather the opposite. Once she got past how large she was, her Cheery and positive nature shined through.
Her attention quickly turned as a strong herb seemed to catch her attention. She neared the bush, noting the sparkling dew from overhanging spiderwebs above. A little grin poked through as Kiarra realized what she stumbled upon; Catnip.
Kiarra rolled and wiggled her entire body, bending and breaking the blades of strange grass to release the pungent scent; it was the smell that drove felines wild, not the actual consumption.
She purred loudly, almost angrily as she rubbed her face back and forth.
Suddenly, she froze, Looking up to see Monty's reaction.
