He was serious! It shocked her and gave her a quick injection of panic. She wasn't sure if it was because she was embaressed, awkward, or just too surprised to react any differently.

"Oh-No! No, Lim, don't-!" she pleaded, much like a child caught before a bath. Her eyes widened a little and she took a few nervous, dancing steps away from him. Was he going to jump at her? Chase her? Oh gods, it'd been so long...she was sure he'd catch her in an instant!

-That was better! His mood and his grin grew with soft amusement as the soft spark of emotion flared. His back half twitched once with the harsh flick of his tail, paws kneading the ground.- "You say no, but those dainty dancing paws say yes!"

-He hopped forward, still crouched and compacted, so that he missed her by a whole length or two. Let her atleast get moving before he actually attempted to give chase. She might not have recent experience, but he somehow doubted she'd be an easy catch.-

When he moved she reacted quickly, jumping back with a jerk a bit farther than she needed to. She hadn't been able to catch his bluff in an instant and somehow the prospect of being caught outweighed any suspicions of that anyway.

"Lim!" she squeaked, her body arched and tensed as he shuffled away with light footsteps. Despite her protests, her body was already half turned, rotating step by step to prepare for a mad dash in the opposite direction. He had missed this time, on purpose by the looks of it, but she might not be so lucky the next.

-A rippling purr turned into a soft roar as he sprang up finally. Both the pent up energy of the morning, and the instinctive notion of 'prey' in motion sent him after the goddess with long bounds.

Lim wasn't a hunter, he'd done so once... maybe twice in his long lifetime. But he did have experience with tag, and for whatever reason, he was already becoming intoxicated with this chase before it'd even begun.

Something about the sweet sound that Sheba's surprised and pleading voice had formed, so different from the usually stern, and recently scary speeches. It caused a happy laugh to escape him.-

Oh-! He wasn't listening to her! Exasperated and jumpy she darted away from him. She didn't really know why she was wondering, because if she had stopped to think about it...what would he really do? Maybe deep down she really did remember how to play...or her body did. That or somehow being caught would be embaressing beyond bareablity.

Each time she managed to get a little bit ahead she ran in an arch, half facing him again as he ran towards her. Flustered she'd continue her protests, before continuing to race away from him again.

"Lim!"

"What, What?" -He replied finally with a pleasant laugh, though he made no effort to slow down. Yellow tipped paws touched the ground lightly, his body twisting and turning to follow the mild variations in her pace.

Lim, Lim, Lim she called! But why? Certainly she didn't look THAT perturbed by his silliness? And quite obviously he was amused with the bit of protest. He wouldn't stop now, that was certain. Not until he caught her or he heard her laugh too. He rather wondered what it might sound like exactly, and that alone was enough to spur additional speed into his chase.

This wasn't quite a cubbish game of tag, the way kids ran as if their lives depended on it. Nor was it some silly lopping lovers tag where one gave up far too quickly just to have the sensation of the other's skin against theirs. This was something different somewhere in between, something special. It was playful and yet calming in a way for Lim, and softly he let the words and occurances of yesterday drip from his body with each wide step.-

There seemed to be no stopping him. It was a game he was determined to play. It made her feel out of control and powerless...why did he always seem to have the effect on her? Why him? And why, despite feeling rattled, didn't she mind?

The longer he chased her the farther they seemed to run. She splashed into a shallow pool in one of the instances where he drew near, jumping back and scattering water into the air behind each step. She didn't even know what to say anymore, not that her protests had been very fluent to begin with. She just continued to dance and slip away, her mind reeling with every movement she made, unable to gain focus enough to put an end to it all.

-It was when they reached the water of that shallow pool that he'd finally braced some of the distance. And his paw reached out, missing by the barest of inches as water splashed up into his face. It was cool and refreshing, sparkling beautifully in the sunlight. Lim shook his half mane and head with a laugh to rid his vision of the moisture.

Compacting himself with one quick motion he lept out with paw outstreched. He'd either catch her now, or if she moved just right or quickly enough he'd belly flop into a face full of water. Either of which options seemed a perfectly delightful result.-

The result was actually a mix of both. Desperately she had half side-stepped his attempt, lifting both her front paws into the air. But, off balance at with the slick water bed under foot, she slipped backward crashing into the water. She immediately jerked herself from under the surface, sputtering a bit as she blinked her eyes clear. She sat firmly rooted on her bum, wet hair hanging down in front of her face. Every inch of her seemed to be dripping, from the feathers of her wings to the tips of her whiskers.

Her expression was first that of disbelief. But suddenly it hardened with fierce irration, a change that was unusually fast for the overly controlled goddess. She gave him a very sour look, eyes narrowed.

-Another sharp laugh escaped him, as he lifted his drenched self from the water, shaking his head a little to push back the dripping long bangs that fell before his eyes. It was however short lived amusement. For as he stood up, and prepared himself to bolt off, as she WAS technically it now, his eyes caught her expression. And immediately his crashed with confusion.

His lilac body cowered back visable to her gaze, and he stumbled for a moment over what he could possibly say. Why was she so upset?- "Are you okay?" -He choked out finally, cautiously.- "Did you get hurt?"

Without a verbal answer she lashed out simultaniously with both front paws sending a huge splash of water towards his face. By her innitial expression it might have been percieved as spiteful; her rigid frown hung heavy on her mouth for many heartbeats before, involuntarily, a mass of her clingy hair slide right over her eyes. She blinked, her shoulders rising slightly, and then ducked her head down as a rising, ringing laugher ripped from her maw.

Her body trembled with the sound, breaking up her rigid posture and sending her rocking a little in a few different directions. They boy looked absolutely rediculous!

-Confusion... frusteration. He stood frozen with water dripping from every inch of him. It all faded into a relieved whoosh of air as the foreign noise sounded. A laugh? A geniune, honest to goodness laugh from Sheba? He wasn't sure exactly what he'd done, or even if HE'D done it, but a feeling of relief and joy touched him as his maw spread wide with a grin.

Shaking his mane again, he prowled forward a step playful grin growing, paw scooping at water in mild threat.- "You think it's funny to cheat huh?"

With a surprised intake of breath her mouth snapped shut. She passed him a wide-eyed, open look for a single instant before she lept up and bounded away through the shallows. Her retreat, however, wasn't the same as before. It wasn't the reluctant avoidance of his game. No, in fact, her steps were light and spontanious. It actually looked like she was finally playing the game. And each time she looked back at him her playful look of fear seemed to be barely keeping another smile or laugh from breaking through.

-Aghhhh, he'd lost! Not even free of being 'it' for a whole minute. That was Lim though, always a chaser, so seldom the prey, except maybe for a few lovey dovey elder goddesses.

In truth he was already beginning to tire a little, lazy thin body more used to laying and struting then long stints of play. But he wasn't going to stop, not with this turn of events. She seemed to actually be enjoying herself, her expression so different from the one that'd touched her less then 24 hours ago. No, as long as she was up for it, he'd play until his legs gave up the will to move again.

Now that she was actually in the game, the chase became a little harder, having to turn and pivot here and there, slowing and speeding up to avoid tripping. It hardly felt like work though, adreniline and euphoria dulling any cries of protest that his muscles might have made.-

It didn't remain a completely one on one chase for long. Sheba would run in arching loops, turning about briefly to splash at him daringly. It was a came of hit and run almost. It was so much lighter than before that it actually used more energy. So when, in a close call, she slid sideways into the meager shallows right against the shore and peels of laughter slipped out of her chest she found she was unable to get up, at least not fully. It was the sort of exahuastion that felt wonderful and left to her dizzy as she failed to stand.
