"Really?" There! That was a wonderful thing. Not only could she get away from her herdlands, she could visit somewhere she'd never been to that sounded magnificent. As well, she didn't have to find it herself! That was the best part, except... She'd probably have to find her way back again. Great. Oh well; she'd cross that bridge when she came to it. ...somehow. "Thank you so much!" She beamed, ears perked.
But, what? The grass? She curiously peered down at the green stuff at her hooves, flicking an ear. Did she know? Hmm.. There was a nagging feeling at the back of her mind that told her not to eat too much, though she couldn't remember how she knew it. "I know," she started slowly, studying the grass a moment or two longer before smiling up at Maurice. "I don't remember ever being told, but I must have somewhere. Thank you for the concern anyway. I think I heard it spoken of by a few travelers that came to our herd for a bit, though I can't really remember..." Oh well, at least she knew, and that was important. And if she hadn't been sure of the fact before, she was now. It was so nice to know people out here actually cared. Not like her father; all he cared about was commanding more power and gaining more land for their -- his -- herd.

Maurice gave a lopsided grin and bobbed his head. “N’ problem, I thought I’d better check, y’ know? I mean it isn’ somethin’ y’ could know unless y’d been told sometime...”
So, he would have companionship on the way back home; that would be nice. Much as he liked solitude, he liked company as well and he hadn’t had all that much of it lately. Here in D’ob, by and large there seemed to be distinct ‘in’ groups that associated only with themselves and perhaps other groups. There wasn’t much room in them for a lone stallion, and frankly the shrieking laughter so many of them seemed to give out on a regular basis hurt his ears in any case.
“I could show you around the bits of D'ob I know too if y' like," Maurice went on after a moment. “I mean, I don’t know much but there’s a few bits I do know that I could show you.” Geh, he’d repeated himself a bit there; he really wasn’t all that good at talking. Oh well, as he’d thought previously, Sonata didn’t seem to be an expert on eloquence either so she probably wasn’t secretly laughing at him.

She grinned, giggling lightly and flicking her lengthy, pink-tipped tail. "Thank you for making sure, then." It was so nice to know how concerned people here could be. At least, from her experience thus far. She could hardly wait to accompany him to the ocean! That would be her first stop on her trip away from home -- no, her father's herd; she'd need elsewhere to call home now -- and there would hopefully be many more after that.
But, ooh! He could show her around the valley, as well? She couldn't help but beam at her companion. "That would be lovely! Especially seeing as I, uh, don't really have any idea where I'm going..." Which was true. She'd never needed to before now. If Milo was here, he'd know... She'd have to find him soon. Poor little Milo. Speaking of.... "Maurice," she began, canting her slender head to the side a bit, "you wouldn't have happened to see a Shrila, have you? A white one with lots of black lines and bright orange legs. He's got a pretty human-made circle thing around his neck. I think he called it a 'dreamcatcher' or some such. He's my friend Milo, you see, and I haven't seen him since I left my herd. He was away at the time I left," she explained. Hopefully this other Ichsa had seen him and could lead her to him.

The blue stallion frowned over the description for a few moments before giving a shake of his head. “No, sorry, don’ ring a bell... I know somebody who can get people t’ keep an eye out for ‘im though. She’s the leader of an ‘erd that lives around ‘ere, nice mare; she’s always willin’ t’ ‘elp people out and she’s got some influence t’ do it with too.” Still... he wasn’t sure he liked the idea of just asking Nyx to do something for him; he’d only met her once after all and wasn't even one of her people. Perhaps he’d offer to do something for her in return, that would make it okay to ask.
“Still, yea,” the Ichsa went on, “I can show y’ good places t’ drink an’ sleep an’ that. Seen as it stays pretty nice 'ere all year there's some trees and bushes with fruit on too, there’s a little patch of apple trees pretty close to ‘ere actually if y’re ‘ungry.” ...What could he possibly offer to do for Nyx that she couldn’t get one of her own to do? The blue-eyed creature fussed his wings distractedly for a moment as he pondered this problem. There really wasn’t anything that came to mind. Well hopefully there would be something she could think of; he hated the idea of asking her to trouble herself and her herd without recompense of some degree.

"Oh.." Was all she managed to say for a moment or two. Had she really expected him to have seen Milo? No, she hadn't, but the thought that someone may have seen him made her hopes soar, only to come crashing down again. Her melancholy mood lasted but a moment or two before she offered Maurice a smile. "That's fine, I'll find him somewhere soon. Who?" She added after a pause lasting several moments as his words registered. Who was this mare who could help her look for Milo? Hopefully she'd be able to help. "Do you think she could find Milo?"
Apple trees... Apples were her favorite fruit, and it was apples Milo was sent to fetch before Sonata's father tried to force a pretty boy onto her. She hadn't seen him since then. But, she smiled anyway; no need to be sad about apples. Milo wouldn't be. "Apples would be lovely," she said with a grin. She hadn't had any in a few months. "Could you show me where the apple trees are?"

Maurice smiled softly at the other Ichsa; she seemed very young to him, but maybe it was just because she was inexperienced. Either way, he felt the urge to keep an eye on her until she had a safe place to be, or until this Milo was found. “I’m sure she can,” the blue stallion said with a nod. “She’s done things like it before. She’s made her herd’s territory known as a place that welcomes travelers, so she gets lots of news and lots of people that stop by are willin’ t’ do her favors in return for her hospitality. Sooner or alter a distinctive Shrila like your Milo’ll be found, ‘m sure of it.”
He was, fairly sure at any rate. True something nasty could have happened to the little creature, but they were hard targets and nippy little things. Chances were Milo was out there somewhere and looking for Sonata as much as she was looking for him. Having thus assured himself that the girl’s friend was okay, Maurice turned about and set off at a comfortable walk for this apple grove. “C’mon,” he said, smiling up at the elegantly made mare again, “le’s find ourselves some apples.”

"Wonderful!" She exclaimed, ecstatic at the prospect of having others help her find Milo. With such help, she'd find him in no time at all! Such a thought was very exciting to the slender mare. "I hope they find him soon." And she did; she relied on the little Shrila so much. She hadn't any idea just how much until he was no longer by her side.
"Okay!" Said the musically decorated mare. She tossed her pink-tipped mane to the other side of her neck and, with a bright smile, fell into step near Maurice as he lead the way to the apple grove.
