Icegaze and Dewpaw dragged Seastar into the Med. cat den. "He's losing blood!" Dewpaw cried.
"The Med. cat is out, I'll get cobwebs!" Icegaze said and grabbed a mouth full, place them on his wounds.
Dewpaw nodded.

Phantomheart looked over at Feathertail. "You know how the twolegs ruined my eyes, they locked me up in that thing called a cage and I could not see any light as a kit."
Cinnamonpaw woke up to the scent of blood. Daintily, he dragged his rear end up and looked into the deserted clearing. He padded over to look into the medicine cat den and saw his leader bleeding. He backed up, soaking it in that Seastar could die.

"Ok but what the heck does that have to do with anything" Feathertail spat. "And it's alright with me" Feathertail purred.

Icegaze placed the cobwebs on his flank. "Hold in there Seastar." she said, pressing more determandly.
Dewpaw's eyes grew with terror. "We don't know what to do." Dewpaw gasped.
"Um.... poppy seed is the only herb I know well, it will ease his pain, grab some!" She said
Dewpaw darted to the back and grabbed some poppy seeds by licking her paw and dabbing them gentally across them. She rushed back with them on her paw.
"Thank you." she breathed and placed them at Seastar's muzzle.

Hazelmoon padded into camp with Cobwebs and Honey in the moss. and she saw Seastar and other cats in her den so she ran in and droped the herbs "What happened here" Hazelmoon cried looking at Seastar.

"Badgers." Minnowwing answered. "I... I think he's already on his way to starclan." she meowed.
Dawnpaw lay close to him. Her eyes clouded. He was her mentor and her leader, it felt like loosing her mother to green-cough all over again.
Seastar looked up. "Whitewing... you'll make a gr-reat new Leader." he huffed. "Mentor Dawnpaw well." he huffed.
[I've changed Dewpaw to Dawnpaw]
He took one last breath of air then... he was gone.
Dawnpaw looked up. "Minnowwing...." she cried.
"I'm sorry Dawnpaw... he's gone.

Phantomheart shivered as the sun seeped light into his fur. "I could go blind," he spat back at her. "I'm going back to camp." He turned tail and started to trot back to camp, happier now that he was not faceing the sun. He trotted back into camp and padded over to his apprentice who was just sitting on the ground, looking mortified. "Huh?"
"It-it's Seastar, he-he got killed," Cinnamonpaw managed to stammer.
Phantomheart's eyes got huge, he was now just as mortified. "No-Seastar could not have-," he cut himself off, unable to say the word. He knew the sun was hurting his eyes a bit, but not a lot. He would stay out until next morning, making sure the clan was ok. He could not stand to hear that his leader had been killed.

Dawnpaw dragged Seastar from the Med. cat den with Minnowwing. They placed his body in the center of camp.
Minnowwing jumped up in front of the clan.
Dawnpaw lay close to Seastar.
"Seastar has taken a journey to StarClan." Minnowwing announced.

Phantomheart turned his head away, barly able to look at the body of his dead leader. "Cinnamonpaw, we're staying here for the vigil all night." He sat down and curled his tail over his paws, waiting to go share tongues for thhe last time.
'Your Minnowstar now, huh?' Cinnamonpaw looked up at Minnowwing. "When are you going to recieve your leader ceremony then?" He looked at Seastar and padded over to him, staying away from Dawnpaw so she could grieve. He licked his head. "You were a great leader, Seastar. I will never forget you, you led us all through harsh times and protected us with your life." He backed away, his eyes watery.

"first thing tomorrow morning, I'll travel to the Moonstone." She announced. Seastar had been a leader for a long time, many, many of the cats here hadn't known any other leader and had him as their leader all their lives. It was a huge loss, Minnowwing never dreamed of replacing Seastar. She thought instead she would die a deputy.
Dawnpaw sniffled. "Seastar... you were the greatest mentor a cat could ever have." She meowed. "I'll never forget you... and say hi to my mom for me." she whispered.

"And I must continue, for I want to leave camp in good hands while I'm gone." Minnowwing continued. "I say these words before the body of Seastar so that his spirit will hear and approve my choice." She meowed loudly. "Phantomheart will be the new Deputy of RiverClan." She finished resting her gaze on him.

Phantomheart's mouth literally dropped about a kit-step wide. He shook his body to reagain himself. "I promise to do my best, Minnowwing!"
Cinnamonpaw looked over at Dawnpaw with sad eyes. He wanted to leave her to let her say her last words to Seastar but he wanted so badly to go try to comfort her.

Dawnpaw burried her nose in his fur. Then she sat up. She needed to let him go. He was old... but she knew she would always miss him, the whole clan would.
"I know you will." Minnowwing meowed.
