Intombi was guilt tripping herself for leaving Habu already, and now she was guilt tripping herself for crying to Ua. The poor little thing, she thought. If Intombi had been her age, she wouldn't have known what to do at all. Suddenly, Intombi reached out with her paw and wrapped the front of her leg around the juve. She pulled her over and buried her head in the pale green fur, sniffling and trying to calm down.

It took a few moments, but slowly, she managed to stop crying and resorted to soft whimpering. She needed time to think, maybe cry a little bit more. She also desperately needed to eat something. The last time she'd had a real meal was before her cubs were born. After going through labor and then nursing all eight of them several times, she was completely drained. Hopefully a few hunting parties had been successful today. Snifflng again, she pulled her head up slowly from Ua's fur. "Sorry, Ua." She looked down at the now wet green fur. "I can clean that, if you want..."

Ua shook her head. "No, it's ok." She hugged Intombi back. Intombi couldn't have been here long. Surely she hadn't been. Ua would have found her otherwise, wouldn't she have? Intombi's eyes looked bloodshot, her body slack. Intombi was totally past exhaustion. This was serious. She needed to have a nice long talk with Uncle Wawa. Intombi was now her Auntie Bi and she couldn't let such horrible things happen to her own aunt. Not at all. "I'm sure he's on his way here right now. Mommy says he has visions afterall." And if he wasn't, as soon as Ua could get away, she'd make sure he got right on it.

Intombi sniffled and let the younger female go. She wiped at her eyes again, trying to make them not feel so dry anymore. She suddenly wanted to curl up next to her pile of cubs and go to sleep for a very, very long time. She knew that wasn't going to happen, though. If anything, she needed to use the time that they slept to go get herself something to eat. How long could she hold out here like this? Would someone other than Ua find her? Or would she go crawling back to Habu before very long...

Poor, poor Habu. She'd really messed up this time, hadn't she? She still didn't know what she was doing, but she knew that what she had already done hadn't been a good idea. Why was she so stubborn about this? She'd already given up some independence by joining a pride. What was one more step, really? Maybe it had all happened too fast. That must be it. She hadn't expected to end up with eight cubs. Would Habu even take her back after what she had done? Intombi wished none of this had happened. Her happiest times in life had been in that den with him and Riko. Now everything was completely messed up.

Intombi was feeling guilty and moping and feeling rather pathetic. Ua on the other hand was getting antsy and frustrated and upset. She was a happy girl and was only content being so. Seeing others sad made her sad and that she had as of yet failed to cheer her up made her upset. "Intombi, look here. Cubs are a gift. That you've got twice as much cubs as my mom had is a sign that you're blessed. Don't abuse your blessing. Learn to smile about it because that's what they're there for. Otherwise, my mother never would have had me." She beamed there, almost as if she were gods' gift to lion-kind. Which of course wasn't true but she did believe that was her purpose, to please her mother and make her happy by being a good, happy child.

"So cheer up. Sit up. No more whining. You know that you wanted these children. Otherwise they never would have happened. They're not a mistake which means my uncle can't be a mistake. You're all a family. I hope you guys realize that." She flopped down, crossing her legs and resting her head on them to look up at Intombi, slightly drained by her speech.

The more the youngster said, the more Intombi was surprised. If her own cubs could be half as straight forward and smart as Ua was acting right now, she'd be happy. Her definition of family was crumbling. She needed to think it over, to redefine it, but that wasn't going to happen for a long while. Things like that don't just fix themselves. She sat up, obeying Ua's command. She couldn't exactly cheer up quite like that, though. Ua wasn't the only one who disliked unhappy. Intombi's world had been perfect until now. She'd never been in a situation that didn't make her happy before. Here, of course, there was one very happy thing, but there was also confusion and stress and sadness. It was a very complicated situation for the lioness.

"You'e right, Ua." She sniffled again, making sure it was a good one since it should be her last. "I should... go back, shouldn't I?" She stared down at the little green cub. "I need him..." In her mind, she added 'in more ways than one.' Habu brought her happiness. Something was clearly missing without him around her. Plus, she physically needed his help. She really didn't like the idea of showing up with a huge litter and begging him to take her back into his den, but it seemed like she had no other option.

Ua nodded promptly. "You should. Because these cubs mean you love him. ...right? I mean, they gotta." She stood up and circled Intombi. "Next time I see you, I expect you to be radiant, 'kay? If you're not, don't make me go all 'love doctor' on you, you hear?" She stared back out at the pride lands. "Besides, chasing butterflies are much more fun!" She looked over her shoulder and smiled ruefully at Intombi. "And you're my Auntie Bi. So there!"

Did she love Habu? Yes, yes she thought she did. She didn't know if that was good enough of an answer, though. The fact that something was missing, that meant it had to be more than just 'something special', right? There was definitly SOMETHING, but was it love? If nearly anything reminded her of him, and if she actually somewhat liked the idea of living with him again, what did it mean? Having never been given a real definition of love, she couldn't be certain if that's what she had fallen into. If she had to guess, though... well, it was as close to love as she'd ever been, at the very least.

"Yeah, I'd guess butterflies beat crying any day." Intombi winked and thwaped Ua on the behind with one of her paws. Ua's entire visit had been crazy, but she was happy it had happened. "You can come visit the cubs anytime, okay? Have fun with the butterflies." She smiled as warmly as she could, and then looked back at the cubs. A few of them were just starting to stir. Time for nursing, she thought. She wasn't very happy about it, but she wasn't so sad either. She'd just have to eat later.
