Faye watched the pup for a moment then layed down her head but still kept an eye on her. "I wish more dragonflies felt the way I do, but many of them like to only have one other around them. Well I on the other hand love to have anyone and everyone around me. It makes me feel better for some reason..."

tanzy shivered. "i would not know, they only others who have been around me are my family who left me, and the random dragonflies that would pass by me every once and a while. other than that ive pretty much been all by myself." tanzy twiched as one of the voices in her head started to laugh cruelly, but softly, almost as if to say that she deserved to be left alone. "but it is probobly better for everyone if i am left alone. as my mom would say 'you are messed up in the head, and i just can't take it anymore' she never was really nice to me." tanzy looked down at faye and smiled.

"Why would your mother ever say you are messed up in the head. Is there something going on in your head that I should know about." Faye turned her head a little. "I don't think there is one thing wrong with you. You seem like a nice little pup who gets scared in the dark windly night. Happens to the best of us."

tanzy was not sure if she could trust faye. what if she gets angry and leaves me, or worse? one of the voices answered her in a low raspy, whisper 'what have you got to loose?' she nodded and looked faye straight in the eyes, ready to tell her her secret.
"for as long as i can remember, i have been hearing voices. they talk to me, from in my head. its like there are a lot of them, and they are always talking in a low whisper, so that i can not understand what they are saying. every once and a while one of them will speak up and tell me to do something, or give me an idea. it may sound good, but its not. they are not always nice. when they get angry they all start to yell, and that much noise in my head hurts. and sometimes it is scary, like before you found me they were whispering and chanting with the wind. sometimes i wish they would just be quiet, but other times i don't know what i would do with out them. it gets very confusing."
tanzy spoke in a low and shaky voice, and when she was finnished she let out a sigh as if a heavy weight had just been lifted from her back. it felt good to talk with someone. the voices began to hum a light hearted tune that made her happy inside.

Faye took a long moment to think about what the pup had just said. "It is not uncommon to hear a voice in your head. Or to hear a voice on the wind. Many people hear them when others can not." She thought about it again for a moment. "I see nothing wrong with hearing voices that tell you to do things. But I think it best if you took the time to think about what they are saying. Running off doing something that might get you hurt is not a good thing." She flicked her tail a little bit. "Then again some dragonflies can't understand the problems of others..."

tanzy looked at the ground and thought about what faye had said. "ok, so for instance just now, when you told me that i should think for myself some of them started to mumble and others growled, which means they don't like that idea, but i think...im going to do what you said and carefully think things through." tanzy looked up at faye and smiled.

"That would be because they normally are able to tell you what to do. They don't like the idea of being put second to you." Faye smiled back at the pup. "And maybe some of them well even go away if they feel like they are not needed? Unless you would like them to stay." She was happy that Tanzy was going to start thinking things through.

tanzy got an idea. "i would not mind if there were less of them, plus i doubt they would all go away. maby if i treat them like actual creatures i might be able to learn how to control them." she liked this idea and her tail began to wag vigoruosly. "i guess i could start by giving the ones that talk to me names, what do you think?"

"Yes that sounds like a great idea. Then you could call them by name and tell them to keep to themselfs." Faye smiled then looked around at the trees. The wind last night had been harsh but the trees seemed as fine as could be. Maybe a few less leaves on them but that was about all. She looked back at Tanzy. "So what are you going to call them?"

"hmm, well as far as i know there are two of them that talk to me, the rest just kinda make noises. they both sound like males, but their voices are different. there is the one that sound tough and mean, ill call him Biff. and the second one sounds shy, but crafty i think ill call him Andy. so...biff, andy, you two listen up. im in charge now, and you guys are just gona have to learn to like it." she gave a nod of aprooval and giggled.
she heard the two newly named voices speaking softly together. the rest of the voices seemed to go silent, and tanzy was just fine with that.

The pup now looked so happy. Maybe she had over come the voice and got them under control. "Now that they have names it will be much easier to keep them down." She nodded and smiled getting up slowly because her legs started to hurt. "Would you like something to eat?"

tanzy jumped up excitedly. "ya, food sounds real good after a big storm, are you going to hunt for it? ive never seen anyone hunting before." tanzy looked at the grown suddenly ashamed. "do you think you could show me how? i have no one to teach me, and i don't know when ill meet another dragonfly that is as nice as you."

"I wouldn't mind at all. But it might be a little hard for you to take down a large animal so maybe we should start with fish and work your way up." Faye grins at Tanzy. "Fish are easier to get then a four legged animal."

tanzy beemed happily "yay, fishing sounds like fun, do we have to go to a river for that?" she could hear andy laughing at the obvious qestion that she had just asked. "oh, be quiet andy, it dosent hurt to ask." andys laugh subbsided to a snicker. "hey, faye it worked, he stopped laughing!"

Faye grins. "That is great. Now you don't have to worry so much about them. At some times I'm sure they will not be so nice and try to talk over you. But with time I'm sure they will learn. And yes we need to find a river or lake to go fishing." She sniffed the air carefully for any sign of water.
