The leader snarls and says, ``I'll take on this cocky guy. He thinks that he's the cream of the crop, but he's not going to stand in my way for taking the girl. You deal with her.´´
The woman takes a step back as the leader talks and, bending gracefully at the knees, stoops down to pick up a dagger from one of the bandits. She then stands up, her sword in her left hand and the dagger in her right hand.
The second nods and winks at Annalicia, ``Hey, baby. You're all mine.´´
``I don't think so,´´ she says in a matter-of-fact tone. She then flicks her right wrist and lets the dagger fly.
The second tries to stop it but it makes it's mark - square in the chest. He drops to his knees, his sword on the ground by him.
``So arrogant and so mislead,´´ she says before stepping up to him and stabbing him in the chest with her sword.
The blond waits for a few seconds then pulls it out of him. She steps back to where she was earlier, her sword at ready if her fellow elf needs assistance.
((OOC: Of course I didn't bring my dictionary to the Café Internet, so I had to look online. According to freetranslation.com, vegas means 'fertile plain'.))

(So, meadow.)
Gregory shifts the point of his blade over to point at the leader. He turns so his right side is toward the man, his right hand on the hilt of his sword and his left free to catch an arm swinging a sword at his chest. His hair hung down in his face, but the sweat had gathered the strands enough that he could see. "Well," he said, noting that his opponent had not moved, "Come on then."

Annalicia knew that her fellow elf could take care of himself, so she goes to Sarah's side. She sets her sword down on the ground at her side as she kneels down. She sees that there is blood on her hands so she wipes her hands on the grass nearby.
The blond elf realizes that her friend is not moving... at all. She searches for her friend's pulse.
The leader realizes that he is the last one remaining of all of the forces he had commanded. Even his seconds are dead. His first reaction - his human one - says for him to run away and hope that the elf doesn't come after him. His second one - his military side - kicks in and reigns, however. He tries to think of a way to take down the male elf so to get to the blond elf. Nothing comes to mind and he charges the elf, with all the force that he can. His plan: swing right, left, right, then at the legs to cut the elf down.
After the leader had started his charge at the blue haired elf, the other elf closes her eyes. Tears slip out from under her eyelids as her hand pulls away from her friend. ...she's gone...

The man's right swing was to Gregory's left, or would have been had his chest been facing the man, exactly where he wanted it. The elf grabbed his arm, and drove the blade of his sword into the leader's chest to come out through his back. He pulled the sword out and picked so grass to clean it. After cleaning his blade he sheathed it, and walked over to Annalicia. "Anna," he said softly, not wanting to startle the woman, "how is she?"

The blond elf hangs her head, tears still falling from her eyes.
``She's left.´´
She puts her face in her hands to hide her tears (for she was told that Elven women had to be strong and hide their emotions). Her heart breaks to know that her friend has passed away...

The blond elf wipes her eyes and turns around to her companion elf.
``How can I help you right now, with your leg and all?´´

"Just get the arrow out and bandage it for now," Gregory said, "We shouldn't have too far to go, I should live. Let's just hope it's not barbed." His eyes turned to Sarah, then surveyed the scene around them. "After that we should get her a proper burrial. We'll leave the men who did this to her out for the ravens."

Annalicia turns to Sarah's backpack and digs through it for a tool of some sort.
``I've heard it's best to cut the arrow before taking it out. I'm not sure about it, but that's what I've heard,´´ she says to the other elf as she searches.

"Could be," Gregory answered, "But I think that's mostly for if it goes through and the head's sticking out of the other side of whatever it's in. Seems to me it'll just make it harder to take out if it's in but not out and you make it shorter." He involuntarily shuddered at the thought of having an arrowhead permanently lodged in his leg.

The elf blushes and says, ``Didn't think about that... It's not obvious at all that I'm not a doctor, though Mom wanted me to be one.´´
Her hand bumps into something as she had been talking to her companion. Something about it made her pause, though it's not extraordinary. She pulls the item out and finds a bag of Eva leaves. She takes one out, remembering what a female Mystic had once told her and Sarah, and gives it to the man.
``This is a leaf from the Eva plant. It is a relaxer and will help with your pain. You put it in your mouth so that it can work. I remember that someone told me that one, trust me.´´
She leans back and asks, ``So why did you decide to join her, anyways? I mean, on this trip?´´
((OOC: Forgot it was lodged in his bone... whee Aye caramba... And maybe you might be able to guess the Mystic, eh? Considering they live so long... xD))

"I was in the area," Gregory said, "And I couldn't let her go off unprotected. Lot of good I did." He was beginning to doubt if he would ever truely feel he could protect someone, even someone who did not need to be protected as carefully as Sarah had.

After giving the other elf the leaf of the Eva plant, the blond elf scoots closer to his leg. She apologizes if she hurts his leg more by pulling the arrow, but she places her hands on the shaft of the arrow.
``I'm going to count to three and pull it after three,´´ Anna says.
The blond elf counts to three and yanks on the arrow, hoping to pull it out for her Elven companion.
((OOC: You can decide whether or not it comes out, since it is in Greg's leg. And the Eva leaf is to be put in the mouth to help dull pain - I editted my last post to add that.))

Gregory groaned in pain as the arrow came out, the head bloody with small flecks of bone near the tip. Popping the Eva leaves into his mouth the elf looked at the small fragments of his shin bone. "Well," he said, shifting the leaves into one of his cheeks as he did, "that went a little deeper than I thought. By the gods that hurt! Where'd bandits get bows that strong?"

Annalicia puts the arrow nearby and, looking for bandages and antibacterial (or something like it), says, ``I don't care where they got it from. I'm just glad it came out in one piece and without too much dificulty, relatively.´´
She finds some bandages so she turns back to his wound.
As she attends to his wound, she says, trying to hide the worry in her voice, ``I hope that it doesn't leave permanent damage.´´
((OOC: Nice past tense. xD ))

She finishes binding his leg for him and, scooting away, sighs. She finally cleans the sword that she had stolen from one of the bandits, now claiming it as her own. She takes a second to roll her head around (so to release some stress) and, feeling better, starts looking for a calm place to rest her friend Sarah. Though the forest is dark and a bit thick, she actually doesn't feel too bad any more.
In fact, she laughs and says to the other elf, "Ori i el pel, sonray i el oscu. I guess the saying's true for me."
((OOC: Two Elven sayings that I just recently came up with, amongst others, that works here. "Ori i el pel, sonray i el oscu" - "Gold/blond in the hair, smile in the darkness". "Azu i el pel, actif i el jove" - "Blue in the hair, active in youth". Also, the blue haired saying means that the young blue haired elves get into more trouble than the others, esp. the males.))
