Ashoka felt the blush under his fur as he stopped rolling around. He smiled at her giggling and quickly fixed his mane. He got up and sauntered over to the tree and plopped down on the grass, loving the shade that was given off by it.
"I wonder." He said as he shrugged slightly. "I don't have friends." He frowned as he said that. "I guess I don't stay in one place long enough to really make any." Ashoka was wondering how much of his past he should reveal to her. He was just getting to know her and yet he felt relaxed around her.
Reluctantly he gave in. "I'm actually running from a pride, to be honest." He let out a low breath. "Well, really, one member of a pride. Although, I assume I'm far enough away from them and if the lion followed me this far...then he has some issues." He sat up and rubbed his back against the tree trunk. "He really was a bully." He spat the last word out as if his mouth was full of venom.

Intruiged, Nadine cocked her head to listen to his little tale. "So, you stay on the move, even though you're not sure he's even after you? What'd you do that was so bad to have THAT rule your life?" She frowned, feeling that this lonely lion was on the run from something that didn't truly cause a threat. Most lions don't leave their pride to avenge something unless the act was horrific. Once the Lion is out of their territory, it's usually on your own after that.

"It's really not that so much as I'm use to just moving around." He shrugged, not willing to go into much more detail about the subject. Maybe he'd tell her at a different time. That is if he decided to stay.
He looked up at the tree branch she was stretched out on and smiled. "What about you? Why aren't you in a pride?" He asked her with genuine curiosity.

Noticing he wanted the issue dropped for now, Nadine addressed his newest question. "No, no pride. As i said, i sort of have a distrust of them after being kicked out of mine because of something i had no control over. So for now i'm sort of wandering, meeting people, i guess hoping to find the right pride, or right people to make one." Stretching, she looked at him in the eyes.
"You know, it would probably benefit both of us if we did hang around each other for a while. Get to know each other, maybe find others. That is, if you can stand me." She gave a chuckle.

Ashoka raised an eyebrow at the 'if you can stand me' comment. Any lion that would want to get away from her had to be crazy. She was so easy to be around. They had just met and even now he felt close to her. He lazily rose up and yawned as he stretched. "I'd like that very much so." He said as he returned her gaze, looking her directly in the eyes and smiling.

Rolling her eyes a bit and laughing, Nadine jumped down from the tree and landed next to him. " Oh, you may be sorry for it one day," she said laughing. "Mark my words." Plopping down, she stared at the waters surface for a little while. Before long, and way before she even knew what she was doing, she was curled up beside Ashoka napping, dreaming contently of gazelle and playing in the sun.
((open ended. we could leave it here, or continue it. totally up to you))

"I doubt that." Ashoka said quietly He was a bit startled when Nadine plopped down beside him. He calmed down a bit as she fell asleep. He laid his tail over her protectively and laid his head down on his paws. Slowly, his eyes closed and he fell asleep with a smile on his face.
((We could stop this RP and start up an open one if you wanted? =o)
