Intombi pounced on the chance to gather her confidence. Since Riko had not had another question for her, she managed to gulp down her fear of whatever he might ask her and even took a step towards him. "Habu doesn't know. He doesn't need to know, really... I'm leaving, alright?" She stared at him for a few seconds, trying to assess what he might do. Since he wasn't jumping at her (at least yet), she took it as a good thing and turned around to leave.
It was a quick and dirty way to go, sure, but it was working. Before taking any more steps, though, she turned her head over her shoulder. "You understand, don't you? You won't be mad, right?" She was worried about this now more than she had been before. The more she thought about it, the more that simply leaving was sounding bad. There was no other choice, of course, but it did sound bad. "And Habu..." She paused for a moment, not sure how to continue. "He won't be mad, right?"

Riko might be opinionated, might think he was the smartest lion there was, might be very protective of certain members of his family.. but he had no clue how to deal with pregnant females. He didn't really see much of Kizamaji's mate, and that was the only pregnancy he'd really had easy access to observe. Lionesses were pregnant in the Pridelands all the time, but he'd never really paid them much attention. All he had to work off of now was that Habu must have expressed a distaste for cubs- even if that was totally not the Habu that Riko knew.
Her saying he didn't need to know seemed to reinforce this idea, but logically.. if he really didn't want cubs, he could still know why she was leaving. She obviously wasn't going to force him to have cubs.. but.. No, Habu'd always been so happy to see him and Kiwi as cubs, he'd even been quite nice with Mira. No, Habu couldn't have said he never wanted cubs.
Unfortunately, he spent too much time working through this in his mind and she was already turned around, asking for reassurance that he wasn't mad and that Habu wouldn't be mad. Riko barely stifled a snort. For himself, he hadn't quite decided how mad he might be.. but Habu.. would he be mad? Maybe, but more than likely Riko imagined this would make him sad.
"No," he sneered, finally, "Not mad."

Intombi, despite her lack of social-smarts, could tell Riko wasn't serious. She was slightly frightened by the way he got out the no, which made her want to run right that second once again. This time, however, she actually did. She gave the male a sad look coupled with a half-hearted smile, and mumbled, "Bye Riko." As soon as the words had left her mouth, she sprinted forward, away from him and the den. It took more effort to make that initial sprint than it had every taken for her to do anything in her entire life. After all, since she had moved in with Habu, the place had become her home. She was attatched to it and its resident, plus his normal guest.
She was thinking too much, she decided. To get away, she had to stop thinking. Slowly, she quieted her mind, paying attention to the only constant thing she had: the beating of her paws as she went. It didn't take long for her to numb herself to anything but that one sound, and so she made her escape.

Riko glared at Intombi, watching her run off. He didn't know what else he could do, he couldn't force her to stay- again, pregnancy was not something he'd ever dealt with, he didn't want to cause any accidental harm. So he did the only thing he could, he watched which way she went. He had to go and find Wahabu, and he had to do it right now or who knew where Intombi would end up. But where in the Pridelands could his darned nephew be?
