"I'm just glad you seem happier now!" He earnestly called back, happiness carrying him in bounds as he ran. Such a wonderful transformation he'd just seen! Somewhere, Mhuni wished he could only make everyone happy like this. But Ku's happiness was good enough; she seemed so.. spirited! It certainly gave him enough energy to make it home before the afternoon, and then some.
"And if I can make you happy just being with you," Mhuni added, "Then I'll just make sure I'm around you as much as possible! Then, you can be this happy all the time!"
And she would be. Then and there, as they ran for home, Mhuni made it his goal to make sure Ku was happy- what good was he as a friend if he couldn't make her smile all the time? So he'd just have to make sure she smiled.
"Having a friend like you, Ku," he responded then, beaming, "is one of the luckiest things to happen to someone like me!" And he took off then, full of energy, ready to face whatever the future was going to bring.
He had a friend, now, after all.
