Yeah Giants! (I'm a Packers fan, but I really wanted the Giants to win this game.)

That was a great game

That was quite an enjoyable game. I've been watching Sport center all day catching all the different P.O.V. from people about some key issues from the game. Here are my two cents.

1. The Real MVP's- Eli played a good game. I'm not going to take anything away from him. And his 4th quarter performance was one of the best I've seen in my 20 years of watching the Superbowl. But the MVP award should have been given to the front Defensive Linemen of the Giants. Strahan, Tuck, Umanyora (Spelling) and the rest of the Defensive line dominated that game. they were the key in a defense that held the Most explosive Offense in NFL history to a season low 14 points. Sacked Tom Brady 5 times, the most he's been sacked in a game all year. And their pressure threw the entire offense of the Patriots off key for most of that game. The Defensive Line are your MVP's. Nothing against Eli, he played one hell of a game, but Not an MVP worthy performance in this case.

2. Greatest Play in Superbowl History- When Eli Manning broke three sack attempts and was able to complete an amazing pass which David Tyree caught in amazing fashion is arguably the greatest play in Superbowl history. I say Arguably because I still remember Superbowl 34 when the Rams won on the final play with an amazing tackle on their own two yard line, keeping the Titans from a game tying/winning touchdown. As for the most memorable. I still can see how that tops Scott Norwood's missed field goal in Superbowl 25 which gave the Giants the victory in that one. But All these plays great, and arguably the greatest plays in Superbowl history. But wow, I wouldn't be suprised if this one was.

3. Greatest Upset in Superbowl History- This one is either first or second in the history of the Superbowl. But Lets not forget Superbowl III when the heavily underdoged Jets stunned the Colts. But regardless of which one was the greater upset, the City of New York can boast that their Jets and Giants are responsible for the two biggest upsets in Superbowl history.

4. Sore looser- How Bill Belicheck walked off the field with time remaining was classless. Bill has been the Bully of the NFL the whole season, but the one game when the shoe's on the other foot, he shows just how much of a sore looser he really is. No doubt loosing such a close, and important game is heart wrenching. But that's no excuse for his actions. When Randy Moss did the same thing a few years ago with the Vikings he was torn a new one. I wonder just how this will hit Bill down the road.

Well those are my thoughts. I'm about to pass back into my food coma from the massive Superbowl party from yesterday. So I'm signing off.

Nicely said.

Great game overall. Entertaining, historic, suspenseful, and fun.

Yes, best play in Super Bowl history, because it was two-parted, each with greatness...Manning avoiding 3-4 defensive pass rushers of the Patriots, getting nearly sacked, tripped, grabbed, and scrambling back right of the pocket to come up with a beautiful throw where only Tyree could come down with it...Then Tyree's amazing and god-send catch. With Harrison almost in his complete shadow, defending, Tyree one-handed the ball to his helmet, secured it, and came down with it without a fumble or the ball touching the ground.

I do think that the Jets were the bigger Super Bowl upset though, because it was a low team that many thought could not compete at all with the "big dogs." The Bowl mixed leads, in the 19 point spread, when Namath guaranteed a win, and the Jets backed it...Look at the Giants on the other hand. They played with heart, confidence, and determination. They came extremely close to the Patriots in week 17. They won @ Tampa Bay, @ Dallas, @ Green Bay. I was not at all surprised too much that the Giants had won.

I don't really blame Belichick from leaving early. I, too, thought that the game was over. And if I were Belichick, I'd be extremely pissed to lose the Super Bowl after 18-1. That's the biggest insult.

Hats off to the Giants that really stepped up to the max. Manning, Burress, Toomer, Boss, Smith, Tyree, Jacobs, Bradshaw, O-Line, Strahan, Tuck, Umenyora, Alford, Cofield, Robbins, Pierce, Mitchell, Ross, McQuarters, Dockery, Butler, Johnson, DeOssie, Blackburn, Hixon, Webster, Madison, etc. Coughlin, Reese, Mara, Tisch, Spagnolo, Gilbright...WOW!

I tell you something...Mercury Morris is probably the most happy out of anybody...He said some pretty risky things that he wouldn't regret, and he was sweating balls when the Patriots came closer and closer to regular season + postseason + Super Bowl perfection...
