Logan's whole face seemed to light up when he agreed with a wink that they'd figure it out. If Ailin was sincere in his mind, then Logan was definitely one who'd be willing to be 'fair game' for his amusement until he left to return home. After all, all good things must end, yes? Logan was a firm believer in that. This philosophy probably explains why he hadn't dated seriously since he was in high school, when Rory was in the ward.

His attention wavered between the two men in his company; Rory, his little Rory-kins brotherly type, and Ailin, the mystery friend who was definitely interesting, and Logan definitely wanted to know more of. Any other person would be torn between the two, but not Logan. Oh no. He knew where Rory stood in their little relationship, and so persuing others, with or without him in company, was something he didn't worry about. Not until he was absolutely hammered, and then he thought about it. But until then? Nope! Why ruin such a wonderful night, anyway?

"A computer store?" Rory looked amused, and leaned forward, watching him curiously. "There aren't many in town, I bet it'd be easy to find." He said, nodding sagely. "I just took my laptop to one of them recently, actually. ... Well technically they came to me, 'cause I couldn't leave the house, but... Still." He grinned sheepishly. At Ailin's explanation, he winced, and sat back. "I doubt it's ever a delightful task." He agreed solemnly, taking another small sip. Then he grinned again at him. "But at least you're taking the time to put into play his last wishes. It's not often you see such loyalty." He nodded sagely, completely oblivious to the compliment he just paid him. Rory wasn't one who paid much attention to what he said, so long as his meaning was conveyed.

Which also explains some of the flailing Rory can do, and how Logan knows exactly what he's saying even when he isn't talking. Rory saw the surprise, and a blush built up onto his face again. And right when the previous had just died off, too, darnit. Logan felt the pressure, and he melted lazily, settling in with Ailin's hand on his back. It was definitely a good night in his book.

Rory smiled a little, watching him, then leaned back in his seat and glanced over at Logan. He hadn't any more questions for Ailin on the tip of his tongue, not yet anyway. But he would, ohh he would. Instead, he opted a question to Logan. "Have you heard from Him yet?"

"Him who?"

"Him him."

"Who Him?"

"... Him."

"Ohhh... Nope." Logan shook his head, snorting. "He probably tried to kill 'imself to get out of paying." He said honestly, shrugging. "Hefty chunk of change." Logan didn't seem to pick up on the guilt spreading across Rory's face until after he said it, and then he winced sheepishly. "Sorry, Ror."

Rory shook it off, and looked at Ailin again. "What's his name?" He asked bluntly, taking another gulp. Best keep on track, straying thoughts led to Him. The b*****d.

Ailin found the relationship between Logan and Rory to be steadily growing more fascinating. At first glance, the two seemed to be a couple, an open one to swinging, but a couple nonetheless. Yet the more he talked to the two, the more they seemed to share an odd brotherly bond...with plenty of flirting from Logan's side of things. Though, as he threw a small side glance at the lad next to him, he realized the man didn't seem to have any qualms with flirting with just about everyone. The tips of his lips quirked into a small smile as the thought of how similar they were in some respects floated through his mind.

Settling himself back in the booth, he let his hand continue to rest easy on Logan's back as he leaned backwards and crossed one leg over the other. His other hand reached up to play with the brim of his hat as Rory started to talk again. The slight smile on his lips only twitched into a larger one as the boy's curiosity overtook his shy behavior from before. Watching the boy with interested, sparkling eyes, he gave a short nod, quietly responding, ".NET Hackers, I believed the lass called it. Didn't specify where it was, though." His head tilted ever so slightly as Rory continued on in solemn fashion, before his new drink came, and Ailin gave a smile and nod of thanks to the lass who brought it. Deftly raising the mug to his lips, he took a swig before giving a shrug, "A man that doesn't keep his word isn't worth bein' called a man at all, lad. Remember that."

It wasn't so much that he thought either man present needed the reminder, as he had to constantly remind himself. He gave his word and keep it he would. His eyes grew distant as Rory began to talk to Logan, and Ailin keenly tuned it out. From the sounds of it, it was private business, and so he permitted his mind to idle over his feelings and thoughts on the situation at hand - and over what his plans would be for the night. As he did so, the hand that rested lightly on the small of his new found friend's back began to paint idle designs ever so lightly against the fabric of the man's shirt. An innocent act, for the most part, if it weren't for the small smirk that painted itself on Ailin's face as his fingers lightly traversed the man's back below sight of the table and therefore likely out of Rory's eyesight. A fact that merely amused the Irishman even more.

So cozy and comfortable was he, that as his hand hovered near the edge of the man's shirt, he almost missed Rory's latest question entirely. Shaking his head ever so slightly, he allowed his finger tips to rest against the bit of skin he'd located between shirt and pants, halting in the painting of designs on the man as he gave a small shrug, "The lad's name is Fiach." Smiling before tilting his head to indicate the man could ask him as many questions as he wanted, Ailin began to let his hand idly travel Logan's back once more.

Rory's eyes grew slightly wide when the shop's name left Ailin's lips, and he grinned a little, amused. "That's the very shop Miss Adalia came from to help with my laptop." He said, nodding a little as he thought back to that interesting meeting. And that very interesting egg sitting on his laptop. He nodded a little to what he said, and smiled as he agreed with the man quietly, "That's the truth." All he said, but he admired Ailin for saying it. While most could've taken that wrong, Rory took it as advice. Good advice, really. Honest advice. Ailin was quickly becoming a favorite of Rory's, if only because... well. Logan hadn't really said much or bothered him since he sat down, did he?

During their little reportoire, Logan hadn't gone without noticing the little movements his hand was making along the small of his back. It was almost like flipping a switch, really. Shivers ran all through Logan's spine, making him shift and sit upright a little, and after the initial reaction... he melted lazily into the hand, closing his eyes and lazing himself about by resting his elbow on the table and his head on his hand. It felt nice. Oh so nice. Oh, right there... He glanced over at Ailin through half-lidded eyes when he spoke again, utterly out of the conversation now. In one ear and out the other, as they're wont to say.

Rory noticed the response, and laughed a little under his breath. While Logan laid out on the table, utterly content and actually giving off the impression of a purring feline, Rory paid more attention to what Ailin had said. He blinked, and stared at him a little, then looked amused. "I spoke to him." He said, nodding a little. "He's the one who sent Adalia over. I think he runs the shop himself or something." He mused, shrugging a little. "I haven't been back there since, so I haven't actually met the man, but I know where it is." He said, nodding a little. Logan lolled his head to look at Rory, and frowned a little. The laptop. Riiiight, he remembered now.

Kinda.

Tilting his head in amusement, Ailin let his hand continue to dance across Logan's back as he paid attention to Rory. What luck that he had located someone so swiftly that he could ask to take him there, or perhaps arrange a meeting elsewhere for him to find Fiach. Luck of the Irish, indeed. Smiling at the lad for the tidbit of information he had provided, his grin grew broader, "Think you could show me there sometime, lad?" While his lips made his face look happy, his eyes were strained, and for a second, his hand faltered in its path. The thought of having to deal with something he hadn't wanted to go back to was suddenly a LOT more realistic than it had been just minutes before. And Ailin wasn't yet sure if he was excited or begrudging this opportunity to revisit his past.

Feeling Logan shift against his hand until he rested on the table in an almost cat like repose, Ailin found himself highly, highly amused. The man's lean had let the shirt crawl up his back just enough that the skin was noticeable, and Ailin's fingertips deftly lifted the shirt and slid under before beginning the dance once again, even lighter than before. Glad for the distraction that teasing the other man provided, he let his hand dance along the edge of the man's pants, before removing his hand from his back entirely. If the man wanted any more attention, he'd have to seek it himself - whether by 'accident', or by design. While Ailin didn't mind testing the boundaries with new friends, he also didn't mind having his own tested every once in a while. The fact that Logan had indicated he was interested and Ailin was fairly certain they'd be running into one another with some form of regularity during his time in Durem left him wondering about this man he'd just met.

There'd be questions to be asked of Logan later, as Rory gave them another tidbit of information, one that seemed to intrigue Logan, and Ailin once more settled back into the booth to allow the duo to have words with one another. Content to merely listen to them while he brooded over thoughts of his own, he unconsciously slid just a little closer to Logan, seeking out warmth against the cold of the memories that had begun to stir.

The younger of the trio gave a short nod, a smile tugging at his face. "Sure." He said, smiling at him. "Whenever you want to go over." Rory smiled, and shifted into his seat, comfortable. He didn't mind being a tour-guide, especially not if it were to help someone fulfill a dead man's wishes. There was honor in it, and Rory was all for a man's honorable traits. He did, however, notice how Ailin seemed to falter physically at the idea of going to see his old friend Fiach. Nervousness, he decided. After all, who knew how long it'd been since they last saw each other? And it didn't take a genius to realize that there had to've been some sort of history between the two.

Of course, that wasn't any of his business, so Rory didn't pry. Logan had felt the falter, and it stirred him out of his lazy stupor a little. Enough to make him look over and regard Ailin with what might've passed for concern, had it stayed on his face long enough to be identified. But as soon as his hand had found bare skin, and slipped under his shirt, Logan was gone all over again. He lazed out, this time going as far as to rest his head on his arms, on top of the table. When the hand was gone -- far too soon, for Logan's taste -- he whined a little, and looked over, scoffing at him for daring to stop the ministrations. He hadn't complained, oh no. Why'd he stop?

He scooted closer to Ailin after the ministrations stopped. Not enough to be almost in his lap, but enough to be noticeable by anyone who'd been watching. Rory looked amused by it, and took another sip from his beer, giving Logan a look. Logan grinned at it, and rolled his eyes at him. They shared a few more looks, never speaking a word, and Logan looked over when he spotted Ailin settling closer to him. Logan reached out calmly and put a hand over his, thumb stroking across his knuckles while he bantered Rory about some tedious work problem. Simple conversation, needn't be mentioned really.

And probably wouldn't be understood anyway.

Pleased to see Rory seemingly coming out of his shell, Ailin gave him another encouraging smile. Even though he mildly suspected it was just the lad's liquor making him talk and be forward, it was still a good change. The man should be more confident, anyway. Taking another sip of his own beer to cover up the look of displeasure that threatened to take over his face, he merely gave a nod to Rory. Not quite content to go looking for trouble just yet, not when things were starting to go so well. Besides, first he had to figure out just what he was going to do. No sense going in without a plan.

So involved was Ailin in his thoughts, that he missed the passing look from Logan in its entirety, merely focusing on the dance his hand was playing, and how the man was reacting to him. Hearing the soft whine, an eyebrow slowly raised in response, and the smirk returned in full when he noticed Logan draw nearer. Amused by the looks the two began to exchange, understanding that close friends needn't any words to have a good talk. As their mouths opened and talk turned to legal jargon, for which Ailin both had little love and little interest, he returned to his private musings, a soft smile touching his lips at Logan's kind gesture.

A small smirk touched the Irishman's lips as he allowed his head to fall and rest on Logan's sturdy shoulder, and he muttered for the man's ears, "Unpleasant memories, is all, lad." He was baiting Logan, testing to see how much the man actually wanted to know him, compared to just wanting to 'meet up' later. Many devilish thoughts crossed through Ailin's mind as he rested there, eyes focused on his hat as if he were merely zoning out, as he pondered on whether or not to merely bait - or be truly evil. And with barely a thought of how absolutely cruel it was, Ailin's free hand wound its way under the table to rest near Logan's knee.

To those keen on watching body language and looking on from the side of the booth, it looked as though Ailin was claiming the other man as his for now, to Rory it might merely look as though Ailin was resting his hand beneath the table and in his own lap, but to Ailin, as his fingers began to weave soft circles on the fabric of Logan's pants, he was testing the poor lad's patience. A more devious man there likely never was, as Ailin continued to maintain the appearance of innocent behavior, while he was being truly mean.

The whisper made the hairs on the back of Logan's neck rise, and he shivered a little, closing his eyes and nodding to him. Then he glanced over and smirked a little. "Y'know, in my spare time, I'm a wonderful listener." He pointed out, smirking at him lazily. When his hand dropped down to Logan's knee, Logan mostly knew what he was doing, and had to debate on whether or not he really minded it. He didn't, when it boiled down to it. In fact, he shifted just a tiny bit closer to him as a result. He was impatient, and Lord above knew that, but for Rory's sake he was trying to hold out.

Trying and failing miserably, the poor thing, but trying.

Rory watched the gesture, and while he wasn't on the same side of the table nor looking in from outside in the rest of the world, by Logan's gestures, he had a good idea what was going on. He laughed a little in response to it, and finished off his beer, setting the empty bottle down. After so many sips, inevitably it's going to run out, isn't it.

"You going up for another, Rory-kins?" Logan asked, glancing over at him idly. Rory nodded, and slid out of the booth to go do that. Logan reached out with his free hand and caught his wrist, deftly sliding something into his palm. Money, of course. The bar was his idea, drinks were his treat. Rory looked amused by the gesture, and nodded to him, heading to the bar to get a beer.

And leave the two shameless flirts alone for a moment of peace. Oh yes, even Rory had a streak of deviousness in him, if stroked to come out and play.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:42 pm

Soft, simple amusement painted its way across Ailin's face as he felt Logan shift ever nearer. The man had taken the bait, if only for a nibble, and Ailin felt tried to pursue that line again. If nothing else, keeping up a steady stream of teasing, devious banter was a good way to force his mind to peel away from the lad he'd come in search of. Now that his mind could rest easy over locating him, his mind had begun to worry itself over the other thoughts that came along with it. He merely turned his head so that his lips were near Logan's ear and whispered, "I can imagine. Perhaps one day I'll tell ye the story if ye ask."

It was a dangerous offer, to say you'd tell one of your secrets. But occasionally, it led to the other person offering up information about themselves in kind. Ailin was intrigued by this Logan, though he'd only been mildly entertained before, the man was fast becoming someone that Ailin was interested in knowing, through and through. Unconsciously, his hand had slipped just a little higher on poor Logan's thigh, and Ailin was only gradually becoming aware of just how torturous he was being. As Rory stood up, Ailin became fully aware of how the two were positioned, and subtly moved his hand from Logan's leg, not wanting to look more annoyingly obvious than he had been. While he was a shameless flirt, Ailin did have certain standards he liked to be met prior to engaging in anything past just that - shameless flirtatious behavior.

To accommodate that stance, and reflect his own changing mood, he placed his hand idly near the one that Logan had grasped, letting his fingers brush against Logan's. He was momentarily shifted about when Logan moved in order to hand over money to Rory, but easily scooted himself back into place once the hand off was completed. Raising his head from Logan's shoulder, he raised an eyebrow at him, before lilting in a pleasant voice, "And now what, lad?"

It was Ailin's way of saying, 'I've made a move, now you make yours.'

Logan's eyes closed again at the whisper, and he nodded a little, smirking. "Rest assured, I will." He replied, smirking over at him without moving his head much to face him. He was comfortable, and comfort was something that needn't have silly things like 'boundaries'. Pshhht. He knew the risk of finding out the 'real story', turning Ailin into someone more than a guy to have a good time with. Finding out someone's story wasn't in any way a small thing, and Logan knew that. So, to make it fair... "And maybe I'll tell you mine." He grinned a little wider than the smirk before.

When Ailin's hand rose on his thigh more than it had been before, Logan knew that Ailin could probably fill the little shiver than ran through him. He was thrown when the hand was moved off his leg, and pouted a little at the loss. One step forward, two steps back, damn it. He watched Rory go to the bar, watching him for safety's sake and not really out of personal interest. ... Okay, so maybe it was both, but he did have to take care of the boy. It was in his list of things to do for Mrs. Kohl, after all. She wasn't the Demon of the Kohl household, and Rory didn't see fit to punish her like she was. So Logan went with it.

Besides, Mrs. Kohl makes a mean batch of chocolate chip cookies.

He smiled a little at the way their hands played, amused. It was funny, he came to the bar to find a good time with Rory-kins and found something else entirely. What else, you ask? Logan wasn't of mind to say. He didn't particularly want to tread that line of thought. He was getting little hints off Ailin that maybe the man liked him more than he thought, but when one was drinking one should never assume such. Then he heard the question, and looked over, amused. Passing the torch, huh? He tilted his head, and then lifted one shoulder easily, letting it drop. "We'll just... play by ear, shall we?" He offered, smirking at him. And as soon as those words left his lips, he leaned forward to give him a short, chaste kiss.

It was a failproof. One, it'd hopefully make Ailin linger closer for another. And second, if the first failed... he was gone fast enough so Ailin couldn't smack him for it. He didn't think he would, but, y'know... Experience.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 26, 2008 8:03 pm

Feeling oddly pleased at Logan's response, Ailin relaxed just a little at the idea of the man not simply stringing him along. He'd sworn long ago not to get tangled up in such affairs again, and was strangely worried that might happen again. Not that he wanted anything but a tour guide, a possible good time, and some interesting tidbits out of the man. At least, that was as far as Ailin permitted himself to think on the matter. Besides, the bond that could come of sharing one's story...No. It wasn't something Ailin needed. Certainly not now with the debacle brewing with Fiach, but even rationalizing that away, he couldn't help but return Logan's grin when the man said he might share his own. Ailin had a feeling there might be an interesting tale or two to the man, and the thought of finding that out excited him.

A smirk rose to the man's lips when he felt Logan's shiver and it was really only then that it fully clicked how much of a tease he was being. Barely catching the pout thrown his way by the man he'd been torturing, the smirk grew even broader and temporarily Ailin pondered replacing his hand and continuing in the simple movements. While not wholly provocative, or inappropriate, it certainly was an intimate move and he didn't completely want to lead Logan on. Not yet, at least. Not when he wasn't sure what his own thoughts were on the matter in its entirety just yet.

Catching that Logan was keeping an eye on Rory, Ailin almost felt like he ought to move, or at least untangle himself from the situation that was brewing. Yet he hadn't noticed anything but downright amusement coming from Rory, nothing to indicate he was crossing any lines, or otherwise heading towards making problems between the two lads. Unsure as to why Rory's opinion even really mattered when he and Logan were merely to insatiable flirts teasing one another, he let his hand wander to Logan's wrist again making idle stroking motions. It was a habit of his when he was deep in thought, though he was fairly sure that Logan wouldn't notice that as he awaited the man's response. Lifting his head from the other's shoulder as it was raised, and dropped, Ailin raised an inquiring eyebrow before he caught both the smirk - and the movement towards him.

The kiss was short and when Logan moved off once more, Ailin found himself hovering near to the man's lips, half daring Logan to kiss him again before his own free hand reached up and touched the man's cheek. Gently pulling Logan forward once more, Ailin smirked before pressing his lips to Logan's, fully intending to get more than a simple tease out of the man. His own kiss was longer, but still just a teasing one, and Ailin quickly dropped his hand from the man's cheek, before pulling his head back and giving a wink, "Not fair to tease a man with a short kiss, lad."

With a smirk, Ailin settled back into the booth, continuing to let his eyes stay locked on Logan's face, realizing that his actions could be taken in many ways, and entertained at the thought of what Logan might say, or do.

Logan felt the idle stroking as Ailin contemplated the relationship between Rory and Logan, and goosebumps rose up along the inside of his wrist and up his forearm. Physically, Logan had quite a few spots that could always raise a shiver out of him. It made him wholly incapable of saying no if someone knew the right spots to stroke, and yes, that is the basis of many stories he had for the sharing. Of course, he wouldn't offer those stories to Ailin free of charge. Ailin, while a very attractive man and a nice guy to flirt with, wasn't going to get stories out of him without giving up something of his in return. Give and get, donchaknow.

After his chaste and nervous kiss, Logan had fully expected a reaction that could either fall into 'horribly bad' or 'horribly good'. In this case, the reaction was (thank God) a horribly good one. He tilted his head into Ailin's hand, eyes closing lazily, and so he hadn't seen the kiss coming to him. He felt himself being pulled forward, though, and before their lips touched again, a small smirk tugged away. He was getting a kiss, and what a kiss it was. Longer than his short little taste, but not long enough, he found. And it was just as teasing as Logan's had been, which really wasn't fair. He leaned back away from the kiss, and took a deep breath, grinning a little at him.

"Nor is it fair to tease a man with a lingering one." He said pointedly, giving him a smirk. He recovered from the kiss fairly quick, even if his brain had fizzled out for a second and completely flatlined. He recovered! Logan licked his bottom lip, pulling it into his mouth to chew on thoughtfully, and then he released the now-flushed lip, tilting his head. "What d'you say to sharin' one of them stories?" He asked, smirking a little at him. It was as much a test as the rest of the night had been, a game. Of course, he didn't expect Ailin to go ahead and divulge. On the contrary, he was hoping the man would suggest a more private setting.

Rory'd be fine on his own, he'd probably go home and work some more before turning in. He wasn't worried about Rory-kins.

... Not much, anyway.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 27, 2008 5:54 pm

As Logan took in a deep breath and grinned, Ailin found his smirk growing just a bit broad, finally chuckling at the man's response. With a short nod, Ailin shrugged, "Well, lad, a lingering kiss offers more than a short one might, making it infinitely more fair." He ended on a teasing note, amused as he watched Logan chew at his lip in thought. An action that made Ailin half regret letting the man go. In fact, Ailin turned himself to once more face the other man, and barely caught himself from leaning in for another kiss as it was. The fact that the man was interested, if even only in a one night stand, and had clearly enjoyed the kiss pleased the Irishman and made him crave more. Much more.

Surprised at the thoughts that were brewing within his head, no longer of simply stringing the man next to him along until he could be used to do harm to Fiach, but slowly becoming of something else. Still Ailin was unsure if he just wanted to toy with this Logan and learn about him, a fact that bothered him no little bit. At the tilt of the head and the question, Ailin found himself feeling an odd mixture of disappointment and excitement. He was excited at the possible prospects that were now open to him regarding this new found friend, yet he was disappointed at the fact he had quite the feeling Logan merely wanted to leave the bar, so that the teasing could progress further than just that, and rapidly so.

Uncertain as to why that even bothered him, when he had been the one to respond so enthusiastically to begin with, Ailin watched the man thoughtfully as he came up with his response. On the one hand, he could simply offer a silly story at the bar, thereby removing the opportunity to retire elsewhere for the evening. On the other...he could suggest they leave, but that would lead the man on, if only in part. Finding himself tempted to chew his own lip at the possibilities, he let his eyes wander over until he located Rory, an idea slowly forming in his brain.

Returning his attention to the man next to him, Ailin gave a quick flash of a smile, "That'd depend on what sort of stories ye wanted to hear, lad. Some are better left said in private..." Again, the Irishman's eyes flicked to Rory, and he found himself debating on what to do. He rather wanted to leave the bar, feeling awful for making Rory such a third wheel, but on the other hand...he was still unsure what he felt. Allowing one hand to again idly stroke the inside of Logan's wrist, he leaned forward, closer to the man, "And what sort of story were ye wantin' to hear, Logan?" A soft smirk pulled at his lips, knowing full well that leaning in so close might prompt the man to suggest leaving, but enjoying this little game and turning things back to the questioner.

"But it makes you want more out of it, too." Logan challenged, smirking at Ailin. When the man leaned in, he half-expected another kiss, and was a little thrown when it didn't come. But after a split second of thinking, thrown wasn't the word. Disappointed. That's what it was, disappointment at not getting another lingering kiss out of the man. But there was surely time to get kisses from him, especially if Logan had his way and wound himself around the man during his little visit.

Logan could almost see the disappointment on Ailin's face, but he didn't really notice it for what it was. While he was observant, it rarely came down to him actually analyzing the things he observed and cataloguing them into his repertoire of causes to certain reactions. So he let the observation slip away into his mind, to react upon later. And he would. If Ailin was around, maybe he'd get to witness the flailing and the doubletake of disappointing Ailin.

But not yet.

He followed Ailin's gaze over to Rory, who was purposely conversing with the bartender -- A guy, Logan would like to point out. -- so he didn't have to come back to the table and intrude on the moment just yet. He grinned a little. "I think we'll be in private for a little while here." He said, watching Ailin. He vaguely recalled disappointment in Ailin for innocently putting the suggestion of leaving out in the open in his question. "Rory seems to've found himself some form of amusement." He said, eyes drifting back to Rory, who was blushing and stammering about something. "..." He felt a little surge of something well up in his chest. He knew this well, but he couldn't name it. The need to protect Rory, like a brother ought to.

.... But they weren't brothers. Not that he knew, anyway. He glanced back at Ailin and smiled coyly. Time to dwell on pleasant things and handsome faces.

Lingering ever closer to the man he taunted so happily, a soft teasing smile touched his lips as he watched the man's reaction to the near kiss. His tongue flicked out from his mouth to dance over his lips before he gave a small shrug for the man's words. The smirk quickly returned as he leaned in just a hair closer and whispered, "I think that's the point of a lingering kiss, lad. To make you want more."

With a devilish grin, he removed his hand from Logan's wrist before returning his eyes to Rory at Logan's next comment. Giving a small, sage nod, he returned his attention to the man next to him, removing the hand that had been clasped long enough to place it on the small of Logan's back. Not quit returning to the soft dance it had been previously performing, simply lingering there, teasing the man as he tilted his head, "Does it bother you, lad, that's he's off talking to that man?"

Ailin still wasn't sure if Logan and Rory were more than simple friends who shared a tight, brotherly bond, and he didn't want to tread where he was unwelcome if that were the case. Occasional one night stands were all right in his book, but he'd never been all right with people being with more than one person at a time. It simply rubbed him the wrong way, and he let his gaze return to his fedora so that Logan might not catch any of the thoughts that flitted through his head. He was frustrated that even while playing with a new friend, the lad he'd left behind flitted about in his memories. It was the old man's fault, he was sure, since if he hadn't made that promise, he wouldn't be in Durem. And if he weren't in Durem, Fiach wouldn't be on his mind.

He mentally sighed before attempting to return his thoughts to the friends at hand, and not the distant memories of failures and loss. A daring smirk returned to his mouth as he allowed his hand to softly begin its dance once more. What would teasing the poor lad just a little more hurt?

"Doesn't make it right." Logan mumbled childishly, watching his eyes and taking a deep, careful breath. He blinked when Ailin had asked about Rory, and the question made him grin. He laughed a little, and glanced over at Rory again, eyes dancing. "No." He said, looking over at the guy and frowning a little. Then he glanced over. "I'm happy for Rory." It was genuine, despite the frown. "I'm... concerned." Couldn't blame him, really, after the past experiences Logan went through with Rory. He was a sweetheart, surely, but...

Well. He was special.

The line of thought that Logan had started to tread on about Rory and his 'needs' was quickly deterred when he felt his hand return, and he glanced over at him, fighting back the urge to just melt again. No, bad Logan. Bad bad bad. He smirked a little, pushing the urge to lean in and kiss him as far down as it'd go. "How about a story with humor in it?" He asked. That was probably the safest story, really. Something embarassing that happened in youth. Logan had a few of them, but most delved into the realm of macabre so he wasn't willing to share them.

At least not with Rory in presense. They were, mostly, his stories too.
