"Keeping acting the way you do, and I am sure you will be looked at.." Tina then said, while hushing herself. The stallion's strange ways would most certainly constitute attention.. but hopefully it would be attention that he would actually want, rather then being looked at as weird! "But no worries no worries." The usual smile returned to the filly's face, and she giggled to herself while staring off at a bundle of clouds.

At the stallion's next couple of rants, Tina found herself completely staring off into space, until finally snapping back into reality. "Is appearance all you care about?" she really didn't mean to act so blunt sometimes, but it was a trait that was easily handed down to her from her mother. "There is more to life then looking good with hair and beauty, as craaazy as that sounds." What if the stallion grew up to be judgmental and mean? Tina started thinking about the possibilities, and she seriously didn't like the way it was processing in her mind.

"Haven't you ever like, jumped in a mud pile, or jumped in a stream, just to feel the sensation of something different on your fur?" And also to laugh hilariously as the parentals were fuming? "I think that appearance is important, but I also think that other things are important as well. So, give me insight, what else do you think is important?" Rather then lecturing him, the filly decided to straight out ask him what else he enjoyed... IF there was anything else...

Raphe took his friend's words as reassurances, rather than a possible comment on how weird he was. She seemed so easygoing, able to speak her mind on a topic while still giving him plenty of room to have his own opinions, and the little unicorn liked that.

His pretty ears perked curiously, and the expression soon gave way to shock. "I don't want to jump in a mud pile, or in a stream!" He said quickly. Raphe didn't like the way mud looked on his hooves, and he didn't like the way his fetlocks clung to his legs if he got them wet, and both were cold and uncomfortable to have on him. At least jumping in a stream was reasonable if he was going to get clean, but then he would still have to wait for his coat to dry.

Jumping in snow was another matter though. Raphe liked to play in the snow, provided it was the soft, fluffy kind that didn't get all clumped and matted in his thick fur. It was nice, clean fun.

The little colt didn't quite catch on to her worries, but it wouldn't be like him to add to them. Even though his priorities seemed skewed his bright smile was genuine. "I think having someone to talk with is more important, and having someone that really cares about you..." He looked thoughtful for a minute. That was certainly more important than being pretty, but he knew had to be pretty to be cared about. "And being friendly is important, and not just because smiling is pretty."

In a way, Tina was impressed with Raphe's genuine comments, so instead of dwelling on more questions, she only nodded contently. "Ah yes, caring about others is indeed important. It looks like you have a good head on your shoulders." It wasn't that Tina doubted him before, but she was wondering if he saw things differently. Apparently her thoughts were all wrong, and thank goodness for that!

Raphe not liking mud was something more predictable, and Tina raised her head playfully at his reaction to that substance. "Oh well, not everyone enjoys being random and adventurous. It just depends on the personality you know?" Tina felt as if she was preaching to the wrong crowd, and she sighed quietly while enjoying the silliness of it all. "Well what else do you want to talk about, if you enjoy talking so much?" It wasn't that Tina was out of words, but a part of her wondered if Raphe was hiding his personality or something.

"I feel as if I am too bossy in this conversation." A simple grin molded on the filly's face, only because her parents had told her to be careful of doing such constantly. Tina liked to lead conversations quite a bit, and she needed to allow for others to open up and expand on their own thoughts or knowledge.

"I can be random and adventurous if I wanted to be," Raphe said, swishing his tail slightly. "I would just... not like to be random and adventurous and dirty."

Her words surprised him, and he giggled a bit. "I don't think you are too bossy, I like listening to you. You talk about your family and being pretty, and nice things like that, so I don't mind talking about what you want to talk about." In one regard Raphe was girlier than a lot of fillies, he would chatter on about grooming and prettiness for ages if he had a willing partner to talk with. But they had already talked about that for a bit, so it was time for something new.

"Maybe we could go be adventurous! I'm really good at hide and seek, but we could play tag or explore if you wanted." As much as Raphe seemed drawn to his reflection he was still just a foal after all, and being able to really play with someone his own age would be good break from all the posing and prettiness.

Tina paused slightly while staring at the boy. "You want to play?" In a strange regard, the words completely shocked the filly, since this entire time she assumed that that was the one thing that Raphe didn't want to do! "Yeah sure, I don't care which game, but playing sounds fun to me!" She always played with her sister or brother, so the request was a good in her opinion.

"Well sometimes being adventurous means getting dirty." the filly then said, while correcting him a bit. "Like if we go wander off now, who's to say that we will both come out of the experience completely crisp and clean? Sometimes things happen, and that's the beauty of life, ya know?" Her personality was usually as laid back as she sounded, and that was all because of her father's usual tone of life, and Tina just loved following his fun and quirky manner.

"But anyways, if you wanna stay clean I can walk on first." she then said, while chuckling a bit and moving herself over to the side of where Raphe stood. "Take one for the team.. or however the saying goes.." Plus, Tina did enjoy being the leader, so she couldn't be as dramatic as she wished, since she actually enjoyed the thought of leading the way.

"I think life would be more beautiful if you didn't have to get dirty," Raphe said, taking the thought a bit to literally where beauty was concerned. Again he got the gist of what she was saying, but he would much prefer excitement without getting all mucked up.

He was happy she wanted to play with him though, so he decided not to worry so much. Especially if she would lead the way since she didn't seem to mind getting dirty. Over the next few months he would learn it was more acceptably handsome for the boy to be the one to lead the way, and act as a shield of sorts to keep his lady safe, but for now following along seemed like a mutually beneficial arrangement. She could be the leader of their expedition, and he could keep his hooves clean.

"How about we go to the meadow? We could play in the snow, or explore, or play tag there without getting dirty at all!" He took a few delicate steps as he chirped suggestions, but he would wait for Tina to lead the way. And if she decided they were playing tag, he didn't mind being 'it' first.

Tina grinned when she realized she had the full power in the situation, and her love for control was completely noticeable when she bounced a few steps away from the colt. "Meadow, you say? Well, I think we should race there! Last one there is a rotten egg!" And with that, the little filly dashed forward, while not even waiting for Raphe to think about it.

Tina was giggling as she ran, and she was trying to keep herself focused, rather then looking back and seeing where the colt was. She was positive he was following, so she was trying hard not to worry about his well being or anything. Instead the filly continued to dart forward, until the meadow was in full sight! "Ee, there it is!" She was already pretty tired from the random dash, so her voice was husky, and her breathes were uncoordinated and loud.

Once she felt some grass under her hooves, she grinned and flopped herself over on the ground, while rolling around in a laughter. "I don't even know who won, nor do I care!" she then said, while breathing in quickly. All she knew, was that she needed to run more, and get in better shape!!

Raphe gave a delighted laugh and bounded after her, throwing as much effort as he could into keeping up with her. He would have been proud to see himself then, he ran with the same light-footed ease as he pranced and walked, and his posture was perfect for show if not for speed.

He was too slow to steal the lead, and arrived on the meadow behind Tina. "You really beat me," he said with a grin, prancing in a tired circle around his rolling companion. After a couple heaving breaths he giggled. "If you don't care either way, I'd rather not be a rotten egg." For once the little colt wasn't thinking about prettiness, he was too busy enjoying the exhilaration of the game.

He paced on the winter grass as his breathing evened out, and looked across the meadow with a bright smile. "The snow is a lot deeper out there, I think," he said, glancing over his shoulder and swishing his tail. Even though it was hard work to look pretty while wading through deep snow, it was still fun to play in.

Tina slowly made her way off of the ground, before looking towards the area that Raphe was talking about. "Ah, well why don't we walk over there? I do enjoy snow." The filly then grinned while shaking some dirt off of her body, since she didn't want to have splotches all over herself.

"Hopefully I won't lose you in the snow." she then said, with a humorous grin. "You wouldn't have a problem finding me, but your body will probably blend right in!" At least she knew that Raphe would be awesome at hide in seek in the snow, and she reminded herself never to ask him to play should it be snowing! "What are we gonna do when the snow melts? Everything is going to turn boring again.."

A light frown molded on filly's mouth, and she wondered if spring and summer were as great as everyone was saying. "Do you think you will like the warmer seasons? I can't seem to make up my mind about it." Just as she finished talking, she and Raphe had arrived at the area with snow piles, and the filly grinned as she wobbled her legs into the white fluff. Snow was so wonderful.. and she didn't want it to go!

Rahpe absently skittered away from Tina as she shook herself off, neatly avoiding the small amount of dirt that had been shaken in his direction. But for all his dodging it seemed like he was more intent on having fun, since he pranced ahead and leaped right into a deep snow drift where he sank almost up to his belly with a pretty laugh.

"I do blend right in," he said back over his shoulder, "but if you lose me you can tell me and I'll come out." The unicorn colt grinned brightly, and then tossed some snow in the air, giggling as he frolicked under the falling flakes.

He paused to think once the light, fluffy snow had fallen back down, lightly powdering his back and making him blend in that much better. "I don't know, maybe there will be other fun things to play in when the snow goes away." His little nose wrinkled. "I've been told when all the snow melts, there's a lot of mud everywhere. I don't think I'll like that much at all."

"Mud?" Tina crinkled her nose at the thought, not enjoying the way that that sounded at all! "My father has told me that once it gets warmer, flowers start to bloom, and little bugs start to make their way out. Lots of animals come out of hiding apparently, since no one likes being around in the cold!" In Tina's opinion, a warmer environment would be nice, but she did love snow! Apparently the two being around could never work out..

"But I mean, I have always wanted to swim, so I guess that is something I look forward too." Sometimes she felt like she was swimming in the massive snow amounts, and Tina wondered what water in the warmth was like!

Tina looked down and around for a moment, before stomping her hooves playfully. "You and I are pretty easy though, I am sure we could be happy in any environment." The filly then grinned lightly, since she didn't want to be a bother or a complainer! "Do you plan on doing anything when you get older? Like, some decide to go on adventures, and some move away from their parents.." Tina wasn't sure what she was going to do, and she paused and thought about it for a moment.

Raphe listened with rapt attention, hardly moving at all as he listened to Tina and considered her words. He had seen bugs before, buried deep in forest litter or hidden away in galls, some even came out on warm days, but he couldn't imagine flowers. He really didn't know much about changing seasons. Not long after he had come out of his basket he had been told winter wouldn't be around forever, so he focused on learning what was here rather than what was to come. These stories of springtime easily held his attention.

"Flowers...?" His head tilted ever so slightly, turning over one idea after the other in his mind. It wasn't long before he grinned. "I don't think I would ever like swimming, the water is too cold, and it makes my fur cling." He shook the snow off his coat, appreciating the way the soft hairs fluffed out before settling down. No, he would like to stay soft and fluffy if he could.

"When I grow up... I think I just want to do whatever I feel like doing. I suppose if I feel like a big adventure I'll do that, but I'll come back." He nodded decisively. The little unicorn had always come back to his mother's side, at first because he didn't want her to disappear, but now he just liked seeing her so happy.

"Well, at least you are committed to your family." The filly then said, while narrowing her eyes a bit. She wanted to get far away from her own family, since drama seemed to follow the many siblings she had. But she knew it was impossible for her to get away, and that alone made her very upset at times. She hoped the situation would get better, but until then.. she would definitely do things own her own for awhile.. and at least pretend to have adventures...

"Heh, swimming would be so much fun. Getting wet is just a minor setback." with a grin, she pushed the negative thoughts out of her head, before shaking her mane lazily. "What will you do if it rains? You will surely get wet in that scenario!" And.. Raphe would totally be screwed then!

"Why do you worry about such silly things? There are more complications to life, ya know. Stuff that you can't help.." before the filly continued, she stopped herself, since there was no reason to be a negative personality to the boy. It wasn't his fault since he didn't know how life truly was. Being innocent was a gift, afterall. "But anyway, there is no reason to worry."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 28, 2008 7:09 pm

Raphe's eyes widened. "I hadn't thought of that." His brow furrowed slightly and he began to pace a bit, obviously fretting as he continued to mutter. "I don't like being wet, it's really horrible, but I suppose if the water is falling from the sky it won't have any dirt in it. And I could avoid muddy places too..." He was honestly trying to put a positive light on the situation, as unpleasant as it would be for him.

It wasn't very long at all before he ceased his pacing and his charming smile returned. If it rained he would be okay, and he would find a way to stay pretty even if he was soaked through. "It's not silly, I have to take it very seriously."

How would anyone like him if he wasn't pretty enough?

"Whatever you say." Tina then said, while shrugging a bit herself. She was finding it hard to understand the male, since her standards were obviously completely different from his. Her father had explained to her that that sort of thing would happen, and that she would clash with some of the individuals she would meet.

"The important thing is, that you would be fine. Nature has to do its course, which we all should respect. So even if you are discomforted by the rain, everyone else is pretty happy about it in the end."

Oh well, she was probably preaching to someone who wasn't listening anyways. The filly the moved herself a few paces away from the colt, so that she could move her snout along the snowy ground for a moment. Underneath all of this mess there were bound to be flowers, and Tina just couldn't wait for those beauties to come out!
