"Indeed. Ready when you are." He grinned at her obvious excitement. She must have been quite lonely out here, to react so strongly like this. He hoped that he could help abate that lonelyness.

"Good," she replied with a grin, "lets get moving."
Cordi led the way following the stream up to a point where it narrowed enough for an easy jump across. "Its probably best for us to head this way. Eventually I'll have to see Haz and maybe feel her out before you meet her," she explained as they walked. "It probably seems a little weird how I talk about her, or even that we're both out here pretty far from contact with others," she admitted.

"I don't think it's weird. You'll notice I'm looking out here too. Sometimes it's nice not to have too many people around. Though your cousin seems to take it a bit farther than most, but there's nothing wrong with that." He could understand not wanting too many other Kylan around; then they couldn't tell you what to do, or how to act.

"Well some like my old clan would find it odder in a female. We're not considered capable of such things," she dismissed them with a flick of her tail. "I don't know what path you chose but I'm kinda glad it brought you out this way," Cordi admitted picking up her speed not giving him a chance to respond.
After some time at that pace, she finally slowed and came to a stop at a circular grove of trees. "Its like someone planted them that way, isn't it?" she commented thoughtfully, "I've tried to think of ways to make a home here, but it would be very hard work even as close as the trees are to get a roof of some sort." She dug about for a moment at the base of one of the trees. "Where you hungry at all?" she asked, as her digging revealed a hollow formed by the roots, that was full of dried fruit and nuts. "I have a few caches like this, feel free to make use of them as you learn your way around."

Whyever would females be less able to be on their own then males? It made no sense to Kit, but it seemed to be a part of Cordi's past that she'd rather not dredge up, so he decided to leave it. Kit almost missed her next comment, and when he realized what she had said he stopped dead in his tracks for a moment, before running to catch up, so that he would not be left behind. She was glad that he was here? He was thrilled.
The grove she led him to was indeed beautiful. Already, he was having ideas as to how, with vines, pine boughs, and a little help, a roof might be fashioned for it. Kit was impressed by her resourcefulness, with the hidden caches of food that would keep well. She was proving just how wrong her conservative clan was. "Thank you very much. Should my own hunting and gathering fail, it will be nice to know I need not starve. I will try not to deplete your stores too much though, especially as there is still a decent amount of winter ahead of us." He smiled at her kindness, glad that her clan, which seemed quite oppressive from the little he had heard, had not broken or even bent her considerable spirit.

"You're welcome to any of them. I have enough in my home cave to get me through, but as I like to roam a bit these come in handy." She smiled back at him rather surprised to be enjoying company so much. Cordi noticed the way he looked at the grove as if he too had ideas for it, but she remained quiet on the subject. "Well if you don't want a snack now let me just cover this back up and we can get moving again."

"I thank you, then, and will keep these stashes in mind if hunting and foraging should ever be less than productive." He gave the glade a last glance as they moved on. Winter would not be the best time for a shelter open to the sides, but come warmer weather... He wondered what other surprises she had in store.

Cordi carefully recovered the cache. She tried to think of a nice place he might like that was close enough that she'd have a chance to see him often, but not too close that she'd feel like she was being clingy or forward. Well it couldn't seem too odd to want company after so long alone, he did seem to understand. She was quiet as they traveled on still trying to think of a nice place for her new neighbor...

Kit followed her, staying silent as she seemed to be lost in thought, and he did not want to disturb her. It helped that he had his own thoughts to ponder as they walked, though a couple times he almost tripped and had to remind himself to watch where he was going. This beautiful Kylan with a mysterious past seemed to like him well enough. He was rapidly becoming quite infatuated with her, though he hoped it didn't show. He did not want to scare her off. But, if he settled near her, as it seemed he would be doing, perhaps he would be able to court her. Given time, perhaps she might come to think of him as more than a passing companion, or even a friend. He hoped so, and had already begun planning how to attempt to woo her. He just hoped he didn't end up making of a fool of himself, if she were uninterested.

Cordi slowed as they approached one of the larger of the ponds that dotted the area; it could be considered a small lake really. If she had a formal territory this would be its center. She stopped for a drink and grinned at Kit. "Sorry for the silence, I was just trying to think of some places to show you and there happens to be one not too far from here." She didn't mention that this was also very close to her own home, he'd find that out soon enough. "Its a nice cave but it was inhabited when I moved here, the bear has moved on now. I think he got lonely," she laughed. "I had considered it at one point but its hard to move out of a place once you have it just right." She could think of circumstances that might convince her to move but kept those thoughts to herself though her smile did brighten.

"No worries, I was thinking about a few things too." he assured her, leaving it at that. "It sounds delightful, must be decent sized, for a bear to have been using it." Would it be big enough for two? He hoped so, or maybe that her current home was. He certainly would not mind moving again, if there was a good reason...

Cordi smiled just looking at him for a moment. "Yeah it is a good sized place. I guess it was a bit too permanent for me since I wander around here a lot. Were you hungry at all we could either head toward my place or check out the cave? Up to you since well you're my guest in a way."

He smiled, noticing her looking at him. He didn't want to read too much into it, but at the very least it was a good sign. "I'm not too hungry yet, though if you are I could eat." He didn't want her to be hungry because of some feeling of duty to him. Though he wouldn't mind seeing her place, or where it was. "Otherwise, I'd kinda like to check out this cave. The thought of a place to call my own has got me kinda excited." Especially with such an attractive neighbor.

She tapped her foot a few times as she considered. "I'm fine. We can take a run to the cave and see what you think of it. Then when you like you can come by my place for some dinner." She started off slower than her usually brisk trot to make it easier for him to talk if he wished.

Kit smiled. The best of both options! He followed dutifully, next to and a little behind Cordi. "So, how long have you been in the area?" he asked. It wasn't the best of conversation starters, but he wasn't sure what to ask her. He didn't want to ask about her family or past, as that seemed to bring up painful memories. So. Recent past it was.
